if Slovenia was really so undignified & wanted to steal land from Cro, do you seriously think that the EU would have spent so much time trying to find a solution for both countries & put an UNBIASED commissioner as a mediator?

Just to think that Slo is abusing "its power" to prevent Cro from entering the EU - what power? Don't you even know that until the Lisbon Treaty is ratified by all members, there will be no new member states? By the way, Slo has ratified it.

If you slovenes truly believe that Croatian land belongs to you then why do slovenians shy away from international law? why are they terrified taking the issue to the Hague or International Coastal Region of law of maritime states? Why did slovenia not mention any border disputes when they applied for EU? Can it be because they wanted to obtain EU membership and use it as leverage to blackmail?

@ValeV008 afterall, most countries do not agree with slovenia and as a facty many countries entered EU with border disputes. But slovenia is a jealous country who sees a chance to steal land...but true Croatians will not stand for it....our politicians may be stupid and easily bribed but the Croatian people are much different. Slovenia was quiet when they joined now the little engine that could is trying to fles their muscle in hopes of black mail.

@ValeV008 diallow Croatia to enter NATO...slovenia is the only country in NATO's history to block a country from becoming an official member of NATO due to a border dispute. transition period was smooth? Do you think that has anything to do with the fact that the war lasted 5 years in Croatia and only 5 days in Slovenia? Slovenia is very small and at one point in history it didnt even exist on the map...they are lucky that they border Croatia and Austria because those countries buffered many invading armies throughout history....but anyways they stillthink a piece of Croatia belongs to them. They know it doesnt and thats why they are trying to avoid IC at all costs
