His car is a "Bandit" edition TRANS AM, a limited edition Trans Am from Pontiac to celebrate the "Smokey & The Bandit" movies that all featured Burt Reynolds driving a Trans Am. There is a following for these cars, and the front plate is a detail to make the car as true to the movie car as possible, as it is the same plate on the car as in the films.

The General Lee was on a TV show where it was a prop vehicle. Having the set decorated for a film/TV show is different than driving down the street in LBC. Not as bad as the 14/18 & WAR stickers we see everyday around here, and not really "bad." But for a man who is on a soapbox often about equality, & defending the rights of those who can't defend themselves, it's hypocritical to me. I'm not reading too into it at all. I've known Mike for 21 years and he would've never done that 10 years ago.

I do see some the hypocracy. I also never even heard of Mike V before getting Affliction emails. I suppose I agree. Maybe he should have kept the car in the garage for this video. There are plenty of GL replicas out there too. I think those replicars reprisent the shows that everyone loved growing up with, and not so much the rebel ideas. In anycase, I think if you ran into Mike and he tossed you his keys and said "Take her around the block", you'd probably have a real hard time saying "No".

That makes sense... Mike's persona over the last 20 yrs of being in the skateboarding spotlight has always been about the rights of the rights of the oppressed, that's what prompted my comment... not that it really matters, but I have absolutely no interest in driving/owning nice, old, or "cool" cars... I would be very quick to say no. And if I ever won a car like that I would drive it one place--to the nearest car dealership or to wherever I sold it on eBay. A car doesn't define me. Peace.
