Dude. Kudos for finding Reptile. I have been playing MK since i was like 6 and i could NEVER reach Reptile. Either i would get hit, or something didnt fly in front of the moon, or i didnt properly perform a fatality...blah blah blah. My hat's off to you.
Try backflipping to the edge of the screen. Still backflipping against the edge of the screen, low punch when he gets close. He will almost ALWAYS miss you with ice and harpoon while you punch his head repeatedly.
As for finding Reptile:
Die two times against the first fighter and attempt to do a double flawless and fatality against it the third. You will have a 50% higher chance of shadows across the moon.
sorry to say, but you didnt "let him win" he only has 2 special moves deepfreeze and the harpoon thing also he has scorpions special but i definetly reccomend subzero for the job, because with him i found him twice in one day!!! but nice vid otherwise
At the beginning I fought him a little bit...then later on I decided to let him win... because I wanna see his special moves.... ofcourse I didn't know at the time how many special moves he had...
Later on you can see I wait a little bit and I only throw punches...
Oh, I get it. Whenever I tried to do this, I would always knock my opponent in the pit. I realize now that the pit does not count as a fatality. Thanks!
Man I was in like 3rd grade when I first found him. It was before school and I was just playing and i remember doing the same thing, except i used scorpion whose fatality if i remember correctly was block + up+ up and got to face him.
I was so excited, i yelled for my bro to come etc... Theres nothing better than finding a secret or doing something amazing when you have no clue how you did it at the time. I was just like wtf.
The graphics and the voice of the anouncer was good, but the overall sound quality was junk.
How did he wind up fighting Liu and then having to kill sonya again, didn't get that either.

It's a bug in the game.
If reptile is defeated then the player is moved to the next opponent.
If reptile is not defeated then the player has to fight the previous loser again.

Actually, It's not a bug.
If it was that big of a bug, Midway would have removed it at least before the final version, anyway.

Yeah that could be true... I saw something about an alternative move to do the fatality for Scorpion... haven't tried it ;)
Either that or it was another version ;)

To do scorpions fatality technically its just Up Up....what i do is jump while high punching, and then keep pressing up, try that :-)

I think I already found him once a long time ago with another character... I too was like WTF ?!?! The screen started like bzbzbzbzbz blinking...
I called my sister... like come see come see come see. I can't remember what she did though.
Maybe I was also telling somebody to piss off because I just discovered something or so.
I had no idea how I did it... I tried it over and over again but never succeeded again.
So now I know how to do it ;)

it always bothered me that when you fought reptile, his meter had "scorpion" but when he would win they would have "reptile wins"

Sub Zero, Scorpion and Reptile look the same, but they are different characters in the game ! ;)
