start with it off.

hold power for 3 seconds

then hold with home button for 10 secconds

then release power, but still hold home for 15.

iTunes should reconise it now

What can I do if on itunes it doesn't register what firmware it is, or what storage capacity it has...all it says is Ipod at the top..and then N/A all the way down for the other information...and this very simple power button/sleep button trick, that doesn't do anything for me. If nothing else works plug the usb to your ipod but not to the computer yet. Then push and hold home button and plug the usb to the computer (keep holding the home). Your ipod should now be in recovery mode. Just restore. THUMBS UP IF WORKED

Guys, I jailbroke my 2day old Itouch4 and I tried to erase everything while it was jailbroken but it did this, I found a comment on this video and you just hold down your home and power for 8 seconds, release the power button, but still hold down the home while connected to the PC. Itunes will recognize your device and restore your IPod. After this, just sync it with Itunes and you will have all your stuff and your ipod will be as good as new/

try going into DFU mode and restore it. it's something that will always happen if you remove the jailbreak via the device itself and not from itunes. i got that problem too, when i was erasing all the datas.

if you jailbroken it with blackra1n connect it to your pc then open up blackra1n and press make it rain,that way it will open and nothing will get delete.

Do this all while plugged into the computer

Hold the power button and the home button for a few seconds untill it turns off and then release ONLY the power button. Then just restore ur itouch and its good as new :D

3.. After the 10 seconds release the power button but continue holding home button for a further 30 seconds..

Jailbroken ipod's,happens to these alot. Put it in DFU mode, plug ur ipod in ur computer, hold down the power + the home button for about 15 seconds (or until ur computer makes a noise), then KEEP holding the HOME BUTTON(let go of the power button),for about 10 seconds. then restore ur ipod,and ur good to go xD

nonono, you use the towel trick, you wrap it in a towel and leave it on, then you set it in the bath tub and turn the water on and put the plug in the tub. walk away come back in 15 to 30 minutes. works with the x box 360's RROD too! : )
