If you let your 360 idle for too long it will do it for you but it will say away

To follow up with my statement yes they will take your stuff at the gate but the last thing you want to do is leave it in the footlocker near the tunnel when you go into the arena it will taken there with half of your stuff gone maybe your armor and a few weak weapons. You may be better off doing the operation achorage and the replicated man missions after you finish the pitt for the same reason.

What if you randomly dump weapons and armor in a small room in F. Constantine. I don't see how that would be affected by it. Is it just the box next to the tunnel or will any box have its contents deleted?

No you may have said the wrong thing to him im barely in the middle of the game and on my way to go to the pitt I have to find the slave clothes. But just in case it would be good to do the power of atom quest to get a house to stash you weapons because they will be taken when you enter the pitt

hey if you discoverd rockopolis in the main game in the wasteland. look for a note by a dead ghoul. its about slave shipment to the north. and telling his slaver group to get settled up. next stop the pitt... guess they planned this quest before it was announced!
