Nice theory, but you'd have to take the rack out first on most cars, no way to get the wrench on.

@ifitjams Looking at the inner tie-rod of your car, I agree with you that there's no space to fit a pipe wrench in there. Due to a slightly different construction design, I am hoping there is some space in my car for me to use a pipe wrench to loosen the inner tie-rod as I have read on the internet that others have successfully done so. Bottomline, I believe it is the car design that is going to decide which tools can be used.

just like in life there is a right way and a wrong way, thank you for doing it the right way! oh so many half ass mechanics with their shitty approaches. there's a tool for every job and in this instance a pipe wrench an't it. gotta love harbor freight; for an obscure home repair like this you don't need the most expensive tool cause you won't be needing it all that often, well unless you like hitting curbs like me.
