I'm tired of hearing Dems say it'll take 10 yrs to bring new oil wells online. OK, in 10 yrs, do we want to be drilling our own oil? Or still importing oil for the benefit of foreign nations that hate us and export terror? Everyone agrees that we need to do all forms of energy, but oil isn't going away tomorrow. We need to put all the Dems on their own Island, so that the rest of us with common sense can move forward again and become a prosperous nation and world leader.

Let's assume for a second that this was a legislative problem of getting the Dems to schedule a vote, instead of an election issue the Repubs are flogging. 

What is the fastest way to get this voted on? Commit federal royalty revenue that would otherwise not be received, but for removing the statutory constraint on drilling, to funding looming deficits in Social Security and Medicare.
