I live in a neighborhood where people throw parties all the time... and they get loud, and the people throwing the parties don't seem to have any concept that they are keeping everyone else up at 2am, or that we may not want to listen to their music.... That being said, this does not look like one of those cases. It appears that the cops over reacted... but until the facts are in, this video just does not show enough of what actually happened. Cops can be jerks, and drunks can be stupid.
@gospyro In this case it appears to be an afternoon party. I'm fortunate to live on a small block and we all know each other. Most of the time all the neighbors attend each others parties. In larger populated areas sometimes it wouldn't be safe for you to ask them to lower the music. In those cases its best to have the police do it I would hope the police would use common sense and quiet the music more peacefully as I always did when I was a police officer.

I work in the medical field. Tasers can cause nerve damage and injuries, a miscarriage or premature labour in a pregnant woman. In worst cases, tasers can cause death. Tasers are less lethal weapons, not non lethal.

I live in a neighborhood where people throw parties all the time... and they get loud, and the people throwing the parties don't seem to have any concept that they are keeping everyone else up at 2am, or that we may not want to listen to their music.... That being said, this does not look like one of those cases. It appears that the cops over reacted... but until the facts are in, this video just does not show enough of what actually happened. Cops can be jerks, and drunks can be stupid.

@gospyro In this case it appears to be an afternoon party. I'm fortunate to live on a small block and we all know each other. Most of the time all the neighbors attend each others parties. In larger populated areas sometimes it wouldn't be safe for you to ask them to lower the music. In those cases its best to have the police do it I would hope the police would use common sense and quiet the music more peacefully as I always did when I was a police officer.

Unfortunately we aren't seeing the altercation that led up to the tazing which is what most people are basing their evidence on. @MidwesternWhisper Look at it from the side of the LEOs. You enter a party, knowing you'll sour it becuase you are going to ask people keep the noise down. You encounter people drinking, and drunk. It's you, and your partner against a group of possibly drunk people. You'd be on edge too. Don't give me the "police are trained for this" as it wouldn't matter your training if you are over run with hostile people. LEOs are people, not robots. Try putting yourself in their shoes.

Before one more person decides to come at me for my posts on here, I will quote from the officers as such "The officers contacted the homeowner who was highly intoxicated. The officers explained the noise ordinance tot he homeowner to refused several requests to turn down the loud music. Rodriquez began to act disorderly and refused to identify himself to officers." We don't want to take the statement of the cops into consideration, just the people who were in the wrong in the first place.

I work in the medical field. Tasers can cause nerve damage and injuries, a miscarriage or premature labour in a pregnant woman. In worst cases, tasers can cause death. Tasers are less lethal weapons, not non lethal.
As far as I'm concerned, police officers are completely out of line. They're on power trips with no regard for the law.
