my two brittanies wish they were hunting dogs, lol. one chases squirrels and birds and the other pretty much follows him anywhere. however they got luck and managed to get a bird the other day, then brought it in the garage.
I have two 6year old brother Britts they will hunt hard all day long,We do 3 - 20 day trips to eastern Washington every every fall. Conditioning is important as well as taking care of their feet and coat ,we definantly have to becareful of dehydration ,so we hunt around a lot of lakes and ponds Keep them wet!
I have 2 Britts (brother,sister) and I am hooked! I ride horses alot and they are my scouts. They get rid of any thing thats going to spook our horses. And "smart as a whip" is a under statement! I love my dogs and so do my boys, they greet them every day when they get home from school.
Love this breed! I have one and truly he is my best friend! They are smart as a whip and look at you with almost human eyes. (can you tell that I dislike them? HaHa)

@madtabby66 haha mine is, but he has arthritis in his back leg from being hit by 2 cars. so he's a big guy. hes actually sleeping right behind me now
