  • what kind of battle belt?

  • how do you like that troy muzzle brake?

  • you have hitches in your pistol draw. clean it up to one fluid motion

  • @grande0311

that's me going through the motions slower than normal, appreciate the feedback

  • play COD much ; }

  • I like what you did there where you maximised your sight radius as much as you could with the extended rails.

If your rails were longer would you push your support hand our furthur or is that the maximum distance for you to be comfortable with?

  • @jimothy183

i wouldn't, when I was originally introduced to this method by Jason Falla I was told to have my support hand about where it would be if holding a handgun. moving my hand out further would blade me out some and also lock my arm out- losing muscular support and also making it more tiring

  • how's the sound signature and recoil with that brake? Does it have more recoil than a traditional brake like a battlecomp or pws fsc556? Is it noticably less noisy to the shooter than those brakes?

  • @808Arsenal

it has increased recoil straight back, and is a lot nicer for guys shooting on either side. don't notice much sound difference

  • That rifle is a watered down version of GOD

  • ever have any accidents while shooting?

  • Looks like some Timothy McGhey watched the art of tactical carbine...

  • Dude you look like a robot when shooting do you have some auto aiming feauture built inside of you

  • I dont mind stretching my arms out like that when shooting pistols. But with the added weight of a rufle, i tend to just tuck my arms more. I'll practice more like this guy when i get a chance

  • Thanks for your vids. I have seen you use different DD rifles. I think this one is a V5 mid length and the other I have seen you use is the V1 Carbine. I am trying to decide soon on which of the DD rifles I should get if the 2 I just mentioned. Since it appears that you have shot both, what would you recommend?

  • @BBQBOY76

the V5, also take a look at the V7- same thing but with a tube rail like the Troy one I'm running in this video

  • its a lot easier without plates. Put some kit on and then ill have some respect

  • @isoprepable

without a doubt- i don't run PC's or armor carriers as much anymore, but I have a few videos up with me shooting on either spectrum when it comes to carriers- from bulky to minimalist

  • what recording device did you use? 556 sounds way more powerful than an average bang sound.

  • What hearing protection were you using?

  • why u bent over so much

  • @ysujy10

Can you not read his comments?

    He explains why.

  • @ysujy10 Cause it's good technique. Not like you chicken wings.

  • Why are your sights flipped up? Do you like the co-witness?

  • @FiveTwoSevenTHR

yea, i prefer running irons up- i've been switching my rifles over to LMT BUIS since I don't really need folding. i use a lower 1/3 cowitness

  • Just got my TRX Extreme 13" in the mail the other day. Really, really nice handguard! So slim and lightweight. Now wish I had the rest of the rifle to put it on =]

  • the position you hold the ar looks uncomfortable.

  • @LiberalsArePigs

it's comfortable for me and helps me shoot better- each person is built differently so what works for me may not work for you. use whatever works best for you

  • @LiberalsArePigs

many people talked about this position. One such person was chris costa, stating that if you fully extend your arm, you will feel a sense of stability while firing and when you bring the rifle up to sights, you can fine tune your aiming with little adjustments of just slightly turning your extended hand. Some people find this position comfortable, but others might find it very unorthodox compared to the style they normally use.

  • "A few minutes before this was filmed, the rifle was ran over with a fairly large truck. Still works."

    Want to expound on that?

  • @WillSnipe4Tacos

i left my unloaded rifle laying downrange, and someone didn't see it when they drove down there to set up targets. i go back down there and find it pressed about an inch in the dirt with tire tracks going over it

  • @YOWHATTHEHELLUP71

what sound library are you finding my sounds in, somebody should be paying me for using my recordings

  • @MichaelBarnes i have no idea what sound library your sounds are in I was just wondering why you did that. I know what a gun sounds like and that just sounds like you edited over it with some other noise. Not putting your video down though, good stuff.

  • @YOWHATTHEHELLUP71

it's the actual sounds, i've just messed with the EQ and remixed it. i do it so my videos feel different from others, plus i enjoy sound mixing and design

  • @MichaelBarnes thats cool, what software do you use?

  • Real nice video man. I am wondering what is the belt setup you are running. I just built my newest AR and am looking to get one of those Vickers slings and a belt or chest rig.

  • @jamesbern

thanks. it's a us grunt gear infidel warbelt.

if you're looking for a cheaper alternative, most of the time I just wear a regular belt and slip on two or three itw fast mags

  • great technique man!

  • Superb recoil control and form. Good job.

  • welcome to the internet, where any 13 year old with a laptop can criticize anyone for anything.

  • Hey Brother, how do you like that TRX?

  • @cory07ink

great rail, really like these tube rails- although this rifle I replaced the 13" for the 15"

  • @MichaelBarnes bet that looks amazing.

  • i want to try your stance next time im at the range, it looks awkward but really effective. cheers bro!

  • doesn't the slide of the Glock rub against your thumb like that?

  • I see you're wearing jeans!? Don't you find them uncomfortable for "work" like this (holster and other equipment on your legs)? Just noticed it here, after seeing some german police force (SEK) wearing them @ work just two weeks ago when a cop was killed and they were deployed in the region.

  • you hold your rifle like a girl

  • @TRIGGATODD I see you're unfamilar with that shooting style. It IS a combat stance.

  • Comment removed

  • Nice transitions!

  • Solid as an oak tree. Excellent form.

  • sounds like a fuckin dragon every time u pull the trigger, sweet rifle, really lovin the channel!

  • Comment removed

  • omg that sounds fuckin amazinggggggg. i am really diggin the rail system.

  • Don't hate on this but. I think the gun shots sounds like a sound effects would.

  • u look like such a retard when using that m4

  • @danp173 coming from the kid who lives in the UK. have u ever held a real gun? i guessing you play to many call of duty games. just about every tactical carbine class will teach you something similar to his stance. they teach those stances because they work. dont post things because your jealous that america gets to keep its guns while you sit at home with your airsoft toys.

  • @aluisious whatever dude the main point of me posting that response was to tell the kid that he cant tell people how to handle there guns when he cant even own one in his nation. i dont like posting mean things but it pissed me off when i saw that. i dont really care what u think a proper stance is, thats why we live in america, so we can say and do things freely

  • @danp173 even if that is true, this guy has much more trigger time than you will ever have. the point of me replying was not to debate his stance, i posted that because you cant tell people how to handle there guns when you have near no experiance behind a AR or any other rifle. we all have or ways of shooting and what works best for us, but dont say things that make u look stupid.

  • are the sounds fake or real? The audio seems edited somehow.

  • @ZzRvXzZ

since when has standing unsupported been considered a fancy stance? if you're talking about the rifle grip you can get in touch with larry vickers, pat mcnamara, brian searcy, kyle lamb, jason falla, jd potynsky, kyle defoor, mike pannone, etc and ask how their experiences in combat affected why they practice and preach a similar rifle support grip.

i'm not sure what unit you served with- maybe you have more combat experience and know more than them, but i doubt many do

  • @b4sshunt3rgg

I - again - find it amusing to note that the first one to bring up the subject of immaturity as an argument (ZzRvXzZ with his 'teen' comment, you with your accusation that blocking is somehow immature in this situation) is usually the one immature.

I also find it amusing that those who attack Michael have uploaded vids of video game play, while Michael has handled and is skilled with a large variety of weapons platforms and has videos to prove himself such.

    Huh.

  • @SayokoHatsuya

bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla.... the same falacy trying to look smart... what a shame...

it doesn't matter if he shoots paper, i'd like to see him invading favelas here where i live.

  • @b4sshunt3rgg Coming from someone who doesn't seem to quite grasp what the word "fallacy" actually means, it's a massive laugh seeing you accuse someone of trying to look smart.

I'd like to see him invading the dirty slums you live in, too; it would be an interesting exercise in seeing what a skilled man with a good rifle can accomplish.

  • @SayokoHatsuya

    HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

"I'd like to see him invading the dirty slums you live in, too; it would be an interesting exercise in seeing what a skilled man with a good rifle can accomplish."

nice one, this one made me laugh, especially coming from a little teenager with an anime avatar...

go look for firefights in rio favelas, and see what is "real technique"

shooting papers don't make you a good soldier....

being in hell and surviving it, is what makes you a soldier.

  • @b4sshunt3rgg >being in hell and surviving it, is what makes you a soldier.

I'd like to make the point that being proficient with a weapon helps vastly in helping to survive in hell. You seem to miss this.

    >a little teenager

    Unfounded.

    >an anime avatar...

    Irrelevant. Make actual arguments.

  • @SayokoHatsuya

    -facepalm

little kid trying to look smart with awful comments...

wheres your arguments? i don't see any... i'm only seeing a bunch of desperate attempts to look smart.

  • @b4sshunt3rgg I don't need to "attempt"; the fact that you keep trying to point it out makes its own point.

Secondly: being proficient with a firearm is a form of preparing for war. You are ignoring and failing to address my arguments and then accusing me of having none.

Thirdly: I have drawn down on someone, i.e. almost having been in a firefight.

Fourthly, if you believe that less skill with a weapon means more survivability in a firefight, I am not sure what to tell you.

  • @SayokoHatsuya

i never said that "having less skill means more survivability"

seems like you're putting too much effort on trying to looks smart, and ending up forgeting to pay attention on what i'm saying mr hentai teenager.

I'm talking about a real firefight, watch this video: watch?v=N1H8RGgn5RE

I bet you'd shit your pants in the middle of that.

i was born in one of those favelas, i've been through these firefights since i was a kid

  • @b4sshunt3rgg "Ms.", if you must sling around insults and pretend you are winning.

You may have never said that having less skill means more survivability, but you sure are implying it what with your pointless ridicule of someone with actual skill with firearms handling.

Yes, I would shit my pants in the middle of that for two reasons: one being that there are no working toilets in that shithole you call a home and second that I am not possessed of nor trained with a fighting rifle.

  • @SayokoHatsuya

congratilations! now you are being a hypocrite! Hahaha it's great to see little children showing their true form when they face the truth...

well, if you aren't training with a fighting rifle, and never have been throught HELL since you were a kid, maybe you should stick to your animes and stop saying stupid shit like "he'd probably kick the drug dealers asses"

call me next time you get into a firefight with drug dealers, and then we can argue about fighting techniques

  • @b4sshunt3rgg I'm trained and proficient with a .45 calibre pistol and can recognize skill with a fighting rifle when I see it.

    For me, that is enough.

If I ever decide to take a visit to your shithole - which I will not, because it is a shithole - I will seek as much training and experience as the man in this video beforehand.

  • @SayokoHatsuya hahahahaha... trained and proficient with a .45

    no, you aren't

a person can only say that she is proficient with a firearm once she gets into a firefight and comes out alive, and with atleast 1 dead enemy body on the ground...

    as i said.

    shooting papers help...

but the feeling of 7.62 rounds splashing 1 meters from your head, you will never get in any paper shooting training

  • @b4sshunt3rgg I am trained and proficient with a .45 in the sense that, under severe pressure, I have presented my sidearm and had my sights on the center mass of a dangerously close armed target in what feels like instantly from a concealed retention holster, and at speed I am capable of keeping my shots in a five or six inch circle on paper at twenty feet.

I have not yet been under any form of return fire, and I hope I never will.

  • @SayokoHatsuya cool story bro?

  • @b4sshunt3rgg Ah. A Brazilian 4chan lurker. The completely substanceness style of "argument" - if it can validly be called that - was a decent hint, and this simply confirms it.

I mean, I could attribute it to absolutely impossible obtuseness, but I might either be insulting 4chan or giving them too much credit...

  • @SayokoHatsuya 4chan? what is it?

hahaha you're such a hypocrite dude! you're complaining about my arguments... and you're doing the same thing!! you're just throwing a bunch of childish insults in hope that you will get me mad... hahahahah

and why are u stalking me? wanna chat? if u want to chat. give me any adress, or any kind of adress where i can chat with u... it seems that you're a sad guy.. :/

  • @b4sshunt3rgg >dude! you're complaining about my arguments... and you're doing the same thing!!

I am doing the former because you are not actually arguing, and I am doing the same because it amuses me, is in addition to actual valid arguments, and because it makes you project as furiously as possible.

As for being 'sad', I am a woman happily married to a woman.

  • @SayokoHatsuya

    well... that explains alot.

it's hard to argue with most of women because their brain usually doesn't work well, cya

    blocked

  • @SayokoHatsuya >mentions 4chan

    >identifies self as a woman married to a woman

    >tries to greentext on youtube

Yup, you sir are a troll. Not a very good one either I might add.

  • @M4DPWN3R I'm actually countertrolling some poor Brazilian idiot, but the first was a suspicion, the second is true, and the third is because it's convenient. Trolls don't generally use facts and logic, but my use of it was apparently enough to troll the dick out of him enough to block me.

  • @SayokoHatsuya You didn't exactly use facts or logic.

  • @M4DPWN3R Logically someone with actual firearms skill will do decently well in a firefight, as opposed to untrained moron posturing drug dealers.

  • @SayokoHatsuya Far as I can tell, he didn't say he was a drug dealer and he didn't mention his level of training at all.

Seems you were the only one waving around their self proclaimed training level like a penis extension.

  • @M4DPWN3R He was waving the drug dealer's "hardness" around like a penis extension and talking shit about the video like he knew something - did you actually follow the comment thread at all? - and presented his own "street cred" as some sort of penis extension. 'Bawww I grew up in x town, it's so hard around here he wouldn't survive a second'.

He essentially asked for any "cred" I had, and I truthfully gave the only experiences/skills I have, which is not very much but enough for me.

  • @M4DPWN3R If anything, I "whiteknighted" Mr. Barnes a bit while managing to induce incredible levels of mad in the Brazilians while doing nothing but being evenhanded and stating only truths.

I actually /knew/ he was going to end up dropping out on the "hurr hurr ur a woman ur too dum" line because I was railing him that hard, hence why I brought it up in the first place.

    Fun stuff.

  • @SayokoHatsuya I almost thought you were legit for a moment, you are DEFINITELY from 4chan. Not a doubt in my mind now.

    Just go home, really.

  • @M4DPWN3R I am not from "anywhere" except from where I'm born; otherwise, I visit /k/ occasionally to see how shitty it is, but what the hell you mean by "legit" I will not even attempt to question.

  • @SayokoHatsuya Stop trying... You're bordering pathetic.

  • @M4DPWN3R Trying ... what.

    "Legit" ... what.

You could answer. I'm not sure how precisely I became an actual troll because I defended someone with actual skill and managed to have a little fun with it, but okay.

  • @SayokoHatsuya /watch?v=7IEOtvupVnE Jason Falla. Former Australian SAS. Has more shoots under his belt than M4DPWN3R, ZzRvXzZ, and b4sshunt3rgg have had collective Brazilian fap sessions. Is located in the suggested video section. USES THE FANCY STANCE.

    /thread, as it were.

Tangentially, one must wonder how many of our resident drug dealers actually knew what a favela was prior to MW2's release.

  • @b4sshunt3rgg >i was born in one of those favelas, i've been through these firefights since i was a kid

Please take your "street cred" somewhere else, hopefully where there is not firearms discussion happening.

  • @SayokoHatsuya No sir, it doesn't helps if you aren't prepared for war...

shooting at paper doesn't make you a soldier...

have u ever been in a firefight?

  • @b4sshunt3rgg I'm obviously not one to talk about combat experience since I don't have any, but the video you posted shows large disorganization and dudes with guns and optics just shooting. AND they had some of the poorest technique from all shooting classes I've been to and seen. AND they were prone (wrong prone stance may I add) for half the video. AND most were on fully automatic, shooting from corners, without the gun supported. Like I said, I have no experience, but your video is some shit

  • @MichaelBarnes

he's been playing too much video games.

  • @MichaelBarnes Don't listen to this guy! He obviously has no idea about gun control and effective firing stances. You have the best rife and handgun technique possible.

  • you own the rifle i see in my dreams. lol. nice vid

  • haha u look like a robot ...

  • is the the infidel war belt? nice

  • this is awesome do you only have 1 rifle but you change the details and stuff or you have like 10 rifles

  • @gundam1915

    I have a few rifles

  • @MichaelBarnes did u build the rifle from scratch

  • its so weird how he holds his gun and pistol, he holds the rifle "weirdly" to reduce recoil

  • These Magpul guys are out of control.

  • @Strelnikov10

If you are referring to the foregrip, you are a doofus. That extended grip has been around since Costa was in diapers. At LEAST since the Rhodesian War, I'm sure even before that.

  • ive never seen a shoot with colour correction, something i can appreciate in videos!

  • The way he holds looks weird

  • Which DD is this?

  • @303badassboxer V5, per the description.

They make really fantastic rifles. Own a V3 myself.

  • @soulstodeny05 Missed that

  • why do u hold the gun like that

  • @alphajude95 cuz he hits the target like that....

  • @alphajude95 well there are two types of holding guns so for example for the assault rifles, i dont know the name but the way he holds it, there is more advantage because.........just look at redwolfairsoft on how to hold your gun or something like that

  • A M4 at those distances seems a bit much... Try 75 yards with a pistol, that's more like it.

  • @john21716

no doubt shooting further distance targets is fun and challenging, but the close up stuff can be made more challenging as well by increasing your cadence of fire, decreasing target zone size, or decreasing time allowed during serials. for example if you're shooting as fast as you can but none of your shots are outside of the A zone, then you probably could be shooting faster- work on trigger control

  • @MichaelBarnes plus if you're training for combat shooting, most engagments on the "street" happen within 10 feet, so shooting at that distance is fine, same goes for in-house defense, although room clearing is extremely challenging. If you can evoid firing inside in a combat situation, I'd pick that instead of going in. since it isn't anything like you see at the cop shows, if you use there techniques you'd be dead real quick.

  • never seen anyone hold a gun like you do....

  • i love how all the gunshots sound.

  • Yeah, can't send comments with the right connotation. I don't doubt your much faster, just one shooter trying to help another shooter. I still learn something new every time I train.

  • You may want to consider re-reading my statements. I don't feel like getting into a pointless degree war, but I have taken many courses and have also taught some - I am not an armchair warrior. You also may want to consider re-evaluating your attitude and try taking a critique with a grain of salt.

  • @NoWunUNO15

i'm not trying to get into any war, i'm sorry if i'm coming off as abrasive- i don't like typing responses since they usually feel very impersonal. you're right i am slow in this video, i'm just letting you know this isn't me running full speed. i appreciate the feedback

  • @MichaelBarnes And maybe what this "non-armchair warrior" fails to understand is that most firefights in the military happen at an average of 25 yards. Most pistol fights average in under seven feet. Training at long distances is ok, but it is mostly target practice as I see it.

  • @NoWunUNO15

no doubt there is always room to improve, but i feel your comment is off base

  • what kind of camera or mic do you have cause it makes everything sound badass!

  • Don't forget to put the safety on when you transition. You can see that it is off on one of those transitions.Your trigger could catch on a magazine and boom your foot is gone.

  • @87228

i don't follow that school of thought since the only reason why i'm transition to the handgun is because the gun is empty or has malfunctioned and is incapable of being fired. otherwise yes when the stock comes off my face safety comes on

  • @MichaelBarnes

That is a valid point, but the issue is cost vs benefit. It takes no extra time to put the safety on during the transition, especially if you have an ambi safety. The benefit is automatically always putting the safety on so that one day you don't screw it up and let a ready to fire rifle hang. Muscle memory works best when the brain isn't involved. There are other types of transitions that involve letting a working rifle hang, like having to carry something. It is best to KISS.

  • @87228

i found it does add extra time, which is another reason why i avoid it. it's not much time, but it's time i'd rather not lose.i really doubt i'd accidentally transition with a hot gun since i don't game these transitions- i really don't like using a handgun if i have to when i have a operational rifle strapped to me. for other transitions(like slinging the rifle)that happen after my followthrough the safety is on,since flipping the selector on safe is part of my followthrough

  • Comment removed

  • what is the belt you wearing

  • @koziro112

    us grunt gear infidel belt

  • iLike

  • Why do u hold it so weird?

  • @AlphaMitts For more control.

  • lol ur seriously gonna have a hunch back wen your older lmao

  • Just curious, why do you flare your left arm when you fire your sidearm

  • @TheCivilianSoldier

i was taught modern iso as having your elbows pointed outward: so when the gun recoils the bend in your elbows would have the gun go straight back. with elbows pointed downward the gun would recoil upward.

left arm is slightly higher since my left hand is able to get higher on the gun than the right since it's limited by the tang of the pistol

  • @MichaelBarnes Okay, thank you for the clarification

  • I'll be getting that Troy handguard on my first build :) Nice shooting!

  • is it me or do you look like the scout from TF2...

  • what do you like better the t1 or the eotech? and is that a 40rnd pmag on your belt or is it just siting high in the pouch?
