  • Funny how they are just rehearsing in a house

  • @ratchetxrc Not just a "house", but Paul's home studio in Sussex. Since it was on a farm, I doubt if there were any neighbours nearby! :-). BTW this was the same place that the surviving Beatles made "Free As A Bird" and "Real Love".

  • great video thank you so much!

    Sophia

  • this is just fanfuckingtastic.

  • Amazing!!! Thanks for sharing

    =)

  • he's practicing at his house in London, John's Wood, top floor.

    It is a detached house.

  • Are you kidding....man this is so cool, when you are this good all you have to be is in the room. DUDE....lmao....................

  • no wonder he's got so much money it's because he doesn;t spend it on practice studios, just practices in a shitty lounge .

  • 3:30 WTF??!!!! HAHAHAH that made me lol so hard XD

  • Big fat bass. Go Paul!

  • Great clip, excellent post.

  • Shame about Paul's infamous drug bust in Japan as the final lineup of Wings was a tight, little outfit imo and Back To The Egg was an underrated gem. However having said that what happened over there kinda confrimed to him in an ironic kinda way that the touring machine was no longer of interest to him (until the late 80's at least).

  • @DCHurlford1 it wasn't drugs, it was just POT, a herb a plant, they were or are stupid about marijuana.

  • @Utubetrekk His Tour of Japan certainly went to POT, ha ha. Seriously though, i take your point.

I think Denny Laine later wrote a song about the experience.

  • @DCHurlford1 I am 3rd generation McCartney /BEATLES fan and Lennon the other guys...so great all, and The poor Macca, with his wings clipped!!!

I read online in a serious article last lears 70th JL Birthday tribute that John chuckled to George, Ringo, & so well they were seriously going to bail him out as a prank, sort of like in the movie AHDN way back In 1979 A.D and way b4 I was ever born!.. that they were all at peace w/another again. pity the killed Lennon! Beatles Reunion! :(

    Girl @ Vassar

  • long live sweet leaf !!

  • Deny isn't very excited

  • they are under the effect of drug

    Look at Linda

Few weeks later they got arrested in Japan

  • Grande ensaio pena não estar lá......

  • lol paul prob owns the whole county ,hes not short of a few quid

  • imagine if that house had a neighbour next door to complain about the noise - they would have got a shock when Paul answered the door!!

  • Yes, but that "house" is probably huge and on a large compound...and there was no one for quite a distance to hear it.

  • true..

  • You'd have to be mad to complain about the noise if it's this!

  • 2:18

    LOL, Coming Up Remix

  • Wings toured the U.K. in the autumn of 1979 and also played the Concerts for the People of Kampuchea in Dec. 1979.

It appears in this footage that it's summertime,so my guess it's a rehearsal for the then-upcoming U.K. tour.

  • sorry, no handycams in 1979, more than likely mobile 1" or 2" Videotape via EFP.

  • oh, linda looks fine. PAUL ROX!!!

  • I wish I could get a note to Paul... I love this guy and hope he keeps on Rocking for many years.... :-)

  • steve holley is a cutie patootie!~

  • you should do him

  • why he still sing beatles in wings?

and wings both belongs to EMI and Columbia company

how the wings Greatest Hits made?(two share one?)

  • He didn't sing any Beatles songs in the beginning of Wings, but he started adding a few here and there starting '76. All the Wings songs are owned by Paul himself. I believe Wings Greatest was released by EMI shortly before Paul left for Columbia, I'm not sure. I think the only album Wings ever released on Columbia was Back to the Egg. Wings Greatest doesn't have any songs from that album.

  • Go to Google and click on Images. Type in Paul and Linda (McCartney), there are lots of non-mannish looking pix of Lady Linda.

    Thank you.

  • that's haralious,

    mannish looking

    hahahahahahaha

  • Thank You for posting & preserving this gem for future generations to enjoy.

  • Dude... this clip was recorded with a handycam, close to the guitar amplifier... Is not a professional recording through the input direct box to the mix console... man, what about your perceptions of the things dude!!

  • lol have you ever been to a band practise!? this is great...

  • Everybody is always looking miserable around Sir.Paul as if they've all been told off or something.

  • he aint playing the old hofner

  • I read that this is his kitchen.

  • that's funny man. dya think they rehearsed 'cook of the house" in here too? ironic.

  • Actually they did do "Cook Of The House" on that tour. Very good bootlegs exist of the last show in Glascow. I think they recorded it for an official release but then the bust happened in Japan and that was the end of Wings.

  • @RichYan33 GlasCOW LOL ?

  • @MrThegnome777 Oops! My apologies to Glasgow and to Glass Cows everywhere.

  • @RichYan33 I actually loved that typo XD

  • Linda looks slightly masculine here. Pause at 2:33 She could be pretty at times..but it seems she liked the natural look. Nothing wrong with that..just saying that Paul and John married women who had masculine sides..Cut Yoko's hair off and she was a Japanese man.

Then when you look at George and Ringo they had beautiful looking women like most typical ROCK STARS do.

  • In a way, perhaps this isn't totally surprising for Lennon and Macca. They may have felt their explosive creative side grounded by such women.

  • In a way, perhaps this isn't totally surprising for Lennon and Macca. They may have felt their explosive creative side grounded by such women

  • Where did you get this from? :o

  • Great song!!

  • It's great to see a "amamteur video" of Wings instead of a "film footage" for once. It gives me the impression that it happened not too long ago.

  • Paul's on the spot because I don't think he really runs his own financial affairs; he has people for that. so, what he means to do & what ends up happening are two different things & people get hurt especially when confronting Paul with it; Paul can't handle displeasing anyone but has to trust his affairs to his professional people; all very sticky wicket, what ?

  • I've read that he keeps a very tight reign on his financial affairs still. Some people have claimed that he is just stingy!!

  • I am sure he has to keep a tight reign on all his business affairs...after all....he has to trust someone, to a point. I wouldnt be surprised if one of his 4 children aren't, in some way, linked to "help" handle the "behind the scenes" of the business arena.....he wouldnt be where he is, monitarily. I'm sure his "bills" don't come in the mail...like most of us....lol.

  • I was told Mary works for her dad.

  • Maybe they didnt like being videod when they were rehearsing but also Denny was REALLY fucked on drugs by this time too

  • From what I think I know, Denny liked a little pot.(not ever into hard drugs) He is a moody guy with a little patience. That's what every one is seeing.

  • Yeah, Denny looks miserable. Maybe they felt weird playing old Beatles tunes, like they were just there at his disposal or something. Oh well, he's still cool. LOL

  • Why does Denny Laine always has that look on his face? Is like he is suffering of a very bad stomach ache. C´mon!

  • Yeah I know what you mean. I think it's because he's stoned out of his tree!

  • Regarding comments on Paul's various 'disgruntled' band members over the years - read the autobiographies - virtually all of the Wings musicians ended up unappreciative in some way, mainly financially.. But then again even the guitarists in that band he was in in the '60s had issues with him!!

  • Apparently he's almost impossible to be in a band with. Such is dealing with greatness I guess.

  • denny managed to stick it out through the '70s, but by all accounts he wasn't a happy bunny! does anyone know any facts about why his musicians didn't hang around?

  • in the christopher sandford book 'mccartney' he says that musicians were constantly promised a share of the royalties which never actually happened! but Denny did write tracks on most of the Wings lps - the guys in this video didn't leave - macca disbanded Wings to do 'Tug of War' and said at the time that they'd pick things up again after that but it wasn't meant to be. dhame really cause they're ace musicians..

  • I think it's logical to assume that Paul could afford to take time off whenever & maybe didn't take it into account that his band members couldn't. So, they would have to move on to other jobs in the meantime; Then he couldn't get them again when he felt like producing again & so had to get other people. Otherwise, why would anyone move on from working with Paul? How does one plan around that? It would be natural to blame Paul but he's only human & would kinda be on the spot, spotty !

  • Paul in the 70s was one of the most famous and talented people in the world. A bonafide genius who simply couldn't and didn't trust anybody. Kudos to Denny Laine for hanging in all that time when Paul clearly would have preferred a reunion with John Lennon.

  • It's like when you used to rehearse with your mates at your parent's house - you half expect someone's mum to walk in,'come on now Paul, yer tea's on the table!!'

  • What great Stuff I can't thank you enough for posting this.

  • Who is the drummer in the window? (cough...Paul....cough) Nice edit. ha ha

Love this video. I have room in my kitchen if he needs to practice for the next tour!

  • Laurence Juber plays the horns riff with the guitar..What a talent!Wings vintage '79 were a fantastic band..too bad it didn't last..

  • I agree, he covers the missing horns almost

    like they don't need them

  • I'd would really like to know where do you 'hear' things like that? Are you a part of the inner circle of musicians in England? Do you know Paul McCartney? Do you talk to Steve Holly,Denny Laine,or Lorance Jubler? I'd really would like to know.....

  • Where did this come from? This is awesome! If you have more then post them. You don't just come by these anywhere. Sweet!

  • What I want to know is; where the hell did you get this video from? This is quite the rare gem! You should definitely post more if you come across any! Thanks for sharing!

  • It must be Paul's living room! LOL

  • If it was, I wish I could've been his neighbor... I would've been throwin' a party outside and jammin' to this, lol!

  • I like the guitar riff sound from this video.

  • have you lunchbox/odd sox deliver your children, morse the moose, old siam sir?

  • coming up ... what a classic! McCartney is the best singer/songwriter ever!!

  • Very interesting to see them rehearsing in such an ordinary environment. It looks like they're in someone's living room.

  • Wow, I´ve had never seen this before. Where do have the people have this stuff i ask me? Good to have youtube. smile

  • Great!!!, have you got more songs from tuhis jam session?

  • so rare. so wonderful. please say you have more?....

  • Excellent, song must have been pretty brand new at this point.

  • its a Yamaha BB series

  • you're a nerd.

  • you're a twat

  • Anyone know what kind of bass that is? I think it's a fender but what kind?

  • WOW! THANKS!

  • Great clip. Anyone know approx. when in 1979 this took place?

  • I guess it's pre-Japanese '80 Tour rehearsal...

  • WOW!! Killer rare clip.

  • Back before he looked like Angela Landsbury!

  • Thank goodness for Japanese rehearsals...Quality on this one is little better than most. thanks Laurence, Steve or Brian?

  • I like it without the horns. It's like unplugged.

  • Sir Paul is awesome !

  • Thumbs up. Great version.

  • awesome! i love stuff like this.
