  • Fascinating

  • im under the belief that we may be some of the most dumb creatures on the planet to suggest that other creaturs cannot learn our ways,BUT in return i will say biuld a house with no tools....travel a few hundred miles without a car.we are useless......face it.stick a price fighter in a ring with a half assed primate,i can gautentee the primate will eat the human.then why now train a ape to actually kill man??? or would that be wrong? i mean you lock it in a cage....you lock our own in cages....

  • The plexi cover is there in case the chimp gets the answer wrong and goes bananas.

  • The Cimp is NOT remembering; DUMMIES he is seeing the screen trails; try using 2 screens without numbers being displayed on one of them then switch screens. Then see if the chimp remembers - he won't!

the chimp can see the PIXAL TRAILS of LIght! I can see the trails myself only some people can see refresh rates and pixal trails. 99% of people can't see 60hz screens I can... most don't and after time using it will give you a headache !!!!

  • @sacredheartu

You did look the whole video, did you? 1st the chimp can recall the order and you will tell me you can see the pixel trail when there is a box of pixel over each number? It could be possible in the 1st test but not in the second one and you call us dummies? Obviously you are smarter than a makake but not a chimp ;)))

  • I bet he could beet the chimp at tetris

  • wtf

  • I hope ayumu is having fun.

  • maybe if they were giving snacks to the humans if they got it right.

  • Hey! he can do my homework for me!

  • That was absolutely astounding!

  • Ayumu for president 2018

  • @danielfiori You do realize that even though your idea is outlandish at best, there are no presidential elections in 2018? It will be 2016 and 2020.

  • @IndoctrineWho In my country, Brazil, we will have it : )

  • Two things to note:

If I were to do that for 1 year and nothing else devoting myself to that one skill from young, I don't think I would fare worst.

Another thing, probably cause they are past their prime but those guys weren't very good lol

  • @ANormalGuy That point would be valid if you were also a chimp

  • @DanNGC2770 Which? That if I devoted myself to one skill I would do well? So whats your point? I think if you were human if you devote yourself you would do well. Why do you have to be a chimp?

Seriously, you arent making any sense. Try asking yourself that question. What I am saying is chimps are smart but they arent smarter than humans.

  • @DanNGC2770 I mean I give you that you were trying to be a smart alec and all giving a witty comment, but use your brain.

  • hahaahhahaha i cracked up laughing at how when the guy came on, he took so long... lol... clips of science like this should be more frequently shown on tv :)

  • wonder if they use judo to control them, chimp marms are stronger and more powerful than humans

  • It's really homo sapien narcissism to make other animals do things WE THINK epitomize "intelligence." Intelligence, whatever it is, is NOT that important in the great scheme of things in the universe; nor does it guarantee long term survival. Organisms and creatures with little or no brains --- no conscious "intelligence" as we would define it --- are superbly adaptive to environments that'd kill humans in seconds, and have thrived for millions, indeed, billions, of years... just fine.

  • @HenryDavidT but if you put those same organisms in room temperature theyd die just as quickly. the thing is, intelligence allows you to adapt to environments that you aren't built for, even if it is your fault for changing the environment in the first place with that same 'intelligence'.

it doesn't have to guarantee long term survival, but at least it is an option.

  • Since most humans have little problem with numbers, even when they are put in more complicated patterns, of, say, more than one digit, repeated rehearsals would likely make most humans being able to correctly push the buttons up to higher numbers. But up to the digits chimps could do, they will always do it faster, since evolutionarily they are still relying so much more on *instantaneous* reflexes (fight or flight).

  • @HenryDavidT Actually I wonder if they tried to teach Ayumu how numbers beyond 9 are written. It would be interesting if a chimp could understand our positional system.

  • I would just like to add a caveat: Chimpanzees/primates are better at learning tasks by themselves, while humans are better at learning tasks from other humans. Perhaps if a human was taught specific strategies about how to pass these tests, they would do better. Also, Ayumu was RAISED in this environment, and it looks like these memory tasks were the chief stimuli in this chimp's life.

  • oye balle oye,

chak de fatte, badd de pakistaniaa de tatte...

  • That's very cool :)

I wonder if a monkey could learn to use a mouse?

  • Chimps are pretty smart. It's only a matter of time before they have more Facebook friends than any of us.

  • @jephboy i have to even let you know you get a thumbs down from me with that fb crap.

  • wow!!!!!:)
