  • Yes, but then who would hold the 4 remote fingers....the arm extension... The laser...control the arm flare(in and out)....and the silly string :) check out Nom,Nom,Nom video (put out today). See all of it be controlled at once, on the fly

  • i would just put the silly string can in MY HAND instead of all that complicated stuff lol

  • Hey Tom, if you are still looking for a more durable string for the fingers you may want to try out 550 cord. Its very thin and extremely durable as well as cheap. Its what we used in the army for damn near everything. Ive drug my share through miles of sand and it holds up great.

  • try fishing cable for the fingers, instead of the string, may work better

  • fishing line.

  • K...now its a mix between spiderman and bublebee

  • Can you flip someone off with that?

  • @vuur150 Well.....ya

  • Instead of Sting to move fingers, have you tried a Guitar String?

  • for the finger string problem you could just use fishing wire

  • Your kids would get some awesome presents for Christmas I can tell.

  • This is really really detailed. Any videos of the finished costume yet?

  • @LadyMegatron1 there are currently 5 videos. I am about 2-3 months away from being done. As I make more costume, I will make more videos

  • @ExtremeCostumes Nice! I can't wait to see the complete costume! I've seen a lot of Transformers costumes but very little transformable ones. Do you plan to take him to any Conventions?

  • @LadyMegatron1 I am planning on San Diego Comic-con& New York Comic-con. I have hopes for Bot-con/Anime Boston//Dragon-con and whatever I can reach without spending to much $. My goal is to be done in about 2 months, but this Bumblebee is VERY complex :) Subscribe and watch the progress every Saturday

  • @ExtremeCostumes I'll be at BotCon 2011 this year, and I'm part of the costumers panel. If you find out that you are going to be there for sure, I'm sure the rest of the group would love for Bee to make an appearance at the panel! It's going to be in June in Pasadena Cali this year, so you've got plenty of time.

  • @LadyMegatron1 I would love to go. Time away from work and family is an issue, as is the cost. Shipping a 6'6" box to the other coast is always an additional pain beyond flight/car/hotel. With a costume this large, there is NO cab that will give me a ride :)

  • @ExtremeCostumes I know the feeling! Ours aren't small even at regular life size, and if you look in my videos, a friend of ours does a huge 15 foot tall Starscream. I did a tribute video for him. They have to rent a U-Haul trailer to take him to Conventions. But if you do get to make it out, let us now! I can give you my email. Or find me on our facebook. :)

  • @LadyMegatron1 I know of King Starscreem, and would love to meet him

  • @ExtremeCostumes The man under the King will be at BotCon with us in Cali this year. :) He's a real awesome guy.

  • @LadyMegatron1 I hope to make it. The people at Botcon are exactly the lind of people who will understand the work involved in making a Transforming Bumblebee

  • @ExtremeCostumes We would. And he'd be popular. As a costumer in that line myself, I know how painstaking it is. I've not done anything as complicated as yours but the guys behind King Starscream would know for sure! I could never walk on stilts, I'd kill clumsy self!

  • @LadyMegatron1 Stilts are not the hard part...dropping to the ground and jumping up again, while on stilts, while wearing a giant costume...that took some practice

  • hey your thumb works just like a pushbike brakes :D

  • I would go for either 80~100lb monofilament fishing line, or an equivilant braided.

if you use thicker string its just gunna wear out (take a bit longer)

the nylon fishing line does not suffer fibre breakage like the string - your string is broken because its bending not because is rubbing.

  • @bugfreetech Yes, I looked at bike breaks when making the fingers. I liked the idea of fishing line, but when I tried 60 pound test fishing line it would not bend at all the angles I needed(see how much the fingers curl?). Also to make the thumb work I have to have the string make a 150 degree turn. I agree, the string will wear out at some point, but with a costume of this complexity I know there will be constant maintenance and upkeep. I very much like the input, post any other ideas :)

  • @ExtremeCostumes when you say would not bend, how so? was it also stretching? in my experience (growing up on a fishing boat) that stuff bends pretty good but can be a bit stretchy, 80lb is pretty solid - or go braided line if you want zero stretch.

and I really want to see some magna locks clip the body rigid when you go to car mode & then actually drive around :D :D :D

  • @bugfreetech Sorry, I have had to give up on having it drive around. Too much weight for not enough return. I have tried several thickness of fishing line and have not been happy with any. Part of it is the stretch( a quarter inch can be horrible for me), but mostly it is the increased resistance.now I have to replace all the springs, put in new holes and figure out how to grip them with just my fingertips, yet do that with force. So far the thicker string seams to be working well. for now :)

  • @ExtremeCostumes to provide increased pulling strength with just your fingertips - why not try and come up with a system similar to a compound bow, with an offest pulley ;)

  • @ExtremeCostumes another idea if the thick line won't bend & braid is too expensive for ya - try using a number of strands of thinner line. it will be more flexible & the multi strands will give it durability & reduce stretch

  • @Ananaz420 YOU FOT OWND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you could use a fishline to stear the fingers

  • LOOKS LIKE THE HAND FROM MR. HANDY FROM BISHOCK INFINITE.

  • I enjoy your vids, they're very informative. hope to see how this all turns out :D (p.s, ignore the haters. It's just youtube)

  • omg to funny

  • the red thing you have on your thumb to control the gun you should do the same w the fingers to control it :D

  • @davidkazee4444

my thumb fits nice, but it is a little too thick, and I need to grip the arm extension very strongly to drop to the ground( for transformation too car ), so a strong grip is essential.

  • Lol use it in a nightclub, hahaha i want to go to whichever one would let your bring that inside it

  • @RobUnkow

This is a clip of me in mt Old Bumblebee costume, in a club with sillystring gun...how do you think they liked it?

  • @RobUnkown

Epic 9 Foot tall Bumblebee Costume wins 1st Place!

a video of me at the club, with sillystring gun...how do you think they liked it?

  • you can use spiderwire fishing line . dosnt frey easy

  • @MrIWasHacked I hope that I have solved the problem. 8 test cables, pulleys, and I find that thicker string does the job perfectly. Like the idea though, keep sending them in.

  • try dead humans ligaments! nothings better than the real deal! no JOKES!

  • wow all that talent and still living at home

  • @SuperGilberto1977 Yes, but it is MY home, with my wife and two kids. I do this because I find it fun and a way to express myself. My "normal" job is less exciting, I own a car wash. I hope to inspire others to make there own Extreme Costumes.

  • @ExtremeCostumes realy u got all that skill and u own a car wash......dude u should be a hollywood costunes director or somethin

  • @soundofthebeast Ya, but all the best jobs for that stuff are out west, I live in R.I. I will not move my kids and leave my extended family just for a cool job. Thanks for the props though :)

  • take that cg!@!

  • Use paracord?

  • Maybe you can try fishing line for the fingers.

  • @kmonkeyb fishing line will streach, and evon 1/4 of an inch will cause a problem, good try though :)

  • I saw you at NYAF back in 2009 and I was AMAZED!!! I have never seen a better cosplay!

  • This is going to be amazing when it is done, i am already impressed

  • maybe a heavier bass guitar string would work for the corners until you can find itty bitty pulleys?

this was awesome. My dad stood in here watching this going "I might be able to do that... hmm..." :P Another great video :D

  • @Disillusioned2010 I like the idea..I will look into it( is there a resin for "bass"? vs regular guitar?). I hope to inspire others to make there own Extreme costumes. Make your dreams come alive ! If I can do it, you can too !

  • @ExtremeCostumes the only reason because my ex hubbs used to gripe about breaking guitar strings all the time. whatever is sturdy will work. :P just watch because they stretch a bit over time and require readjustment.

  • @Disillusioned2010 I got a varity of guitar strings...doing some tests today, Thanks for the idea :)

  • @ExtremeCostumes you are most welcome :D let me know how it turns out :D

  • @ExtremeCostumes Aggg, evon the thinest Guitar strings are to stiff. evon with homemade pullys to reduce drag I am not giving up this easy. Now looking for stronger string.
