  • star wars is such a great trilogy. it pisses me off that most people label you as super nerdy and shit when you say that you love star wars.

  • I'd love a poster of the stormtrooper's at 2:55.

  • Great pictures from a great film!

  • its a very rae thing, but if you find it- there is a cd rom that (at the time) was a complete listing of the star wars universe and one of the things on it as a bonus feature was the deleted scene of luke talking to biggs at tosche power station

  • I didnt like lucas changin the scene in return of the jedi when anakin , yoda, and obi kenobi apears to luke. Lucas put in the younger anakin who was played by hayden instead of keepin the origimal anakin played by sebastian shaw. Why he did this? Anakin gets older. Might as well take alec guiness and put in ewan mcgregor

  • @cjbeltran73 cuz he goes back to b4 he was evil.

  • Well done and thank you! It's refreshing to see so many obscure production photos. I never tire of seeing previously unseen 'Star Wars' photogrpahy!

  • Pre PC George Lucas. : ( Sigh....

  • 0:21 "we can't stop here. this is bat country!"

  • Darth Maul Forever!

  • None of that Phantom menace clone sith crap this is where it's at!

  • Great upload! Thanks!

  • Wow they used real Elephants for the Banthas?

  • Thanks for this great edition... the photos are spectacular, and above all that one showing the skeletons of Owen and Beru, they are striking...

  • 0.32: What is that moron doing out in the sand?

  • I think the best edition of the original trilogy was the very first. Once they made all of the different digital computer edits, the movies lost something

  • Fisher is stunning, 2:44.

  • Nice collection of photos, very cool! ;-)

  • cool..

  • Aw. You didn't get any pictures of the Merry Go Round that Luke's Landspeeder was bolted to.

  • sir alec guiness. r.i.p. stole the movie

star wars will forever be imortal

the best movie ever made period !

  • Actually, the only REAL improvement between the new and old trilogies is the main title. The Star Wars theme never sounded better than in EP1

  • the older starwars movies i give it 5 star i love tham all but the new ones got to go too much HD 3D i am alongtime fun an i no whats good movies are not like befor

  • Yup I think so too

  • @JonGarrett2008

I hope that never happens. What's the deal with remakes anyway? 80% of the movies out there are remakes. You stated correctly, the old trilogy movies are classics, THAT'S the reason why they should remain untouched. They keep ruining them with the re-editions, a remake would be 10 times worse.

Imagine remakes of "Gone with the wind" or "Casablanca", what a rip off.

  • @JonGarrett2008

And BTW, I still think the ships in the original trilogy look a hell lot more realistic than the ones in the new trilogy.

  • thats the only problem I have with the new movies, they use CGI in a horrible way. if they're gonna use CGI they need to use better textures, photo realistic textures would be best.

as for a remake. some remakes have been horrible, some have been better. people always talk about the "original" well the original is over 30 years old and there's absolutely nothing wrong with doing them over with modern technology. if the story says the same, whats wrong with updated visuals?

  • @JonGarrett2008 the thing that struck audiences was that it was dirty. it was gritty. it wasent clean like 2001 a space oddysey, star treck, or any other space sci-fi movies of the time. so to try to remake it would ruin it. because i can ensure you, whoever would remake/update it would make it clean. thats how the other movies are, so thats how they would make it. i cant explane it that well, and i just compressed two hours of explaning into these 500 charactors. please someone else explane.

  • @ig521987 i totally agree with you the ships do look better in the original trilogy

  • @ig521987 Yeah, because the ships in the original trilogy were real miniature models. And the shitty ones in the new trilogy are made with computers.

  • @ig521987 absolutely

  • @ig521987 that's because they built big ass models

  • @ig521987 Lucas was trying to show the progression from a time of diversity and graceful design to an age of utilitarianism and totalitarianism, but as Lucas does, he used way too many digital effects and lost any soul they could have had.

  • @ig521987

    so true

  • @ig521987

It's because our brains can differentiate between real models and cgi. Models will ALWAYS look better than cgi IMO, partly because they actually occupy space and therefore LOOK real, and partly because it's a way more honest way to make something like Star Wars.

Cgi looks flashy and all, but it lacks a soul...a great comparison is the space battles in EpVI vs EpIII. The EpIII is very cool visually, but EpVI is more coherent, memorable, and has a soul..RIP models ::(

  • The real 77 Sw - not the shite prequels that ruined it all

  • Star Wars is the greatest movie ever.

  • 2:50 looks cute

  • GREAT pics. Cheers!

  • WHAT THE ?!? They deguised an elephant!!!!! hahaha GOOD JOB!

  • Ah. the glory days when Lucas looked like Gordan Freeman.

  • Great, thank you.

  • Biggs sure got the shaft on the editing room floor...

  • REPLY: to the guy underneath me

believe it or not some people actually like to shoot on black and white film, it has nothing to do with the pictures being taken in 1976/7.

  • usually not for movie stills though

  • there is a reply button

  • I pressed the reply button and then I stated it was a reply because there are a lot of dumb mothas

in this web site kind of like the dumb mother fuckers that state the obvious such as "this is a reply" and "there's a reply button" kind of comments that get posted

  • this is very good.

  • c2po reminds me of that robot of metropolis. annyone knows if they were inspired by that old movie??

  • yeah the special edition docs talked about it

  • Yeah, they were.

  • Luke, was he wearing a over sized karate gi top?

  • most of them have the same hair style at 3:06

  • thats sexy at 2:47

  • Wow you are not kidding. I forwarded to that exact spot. Thanks!

  • Awesome behind the scenes photos. Very cool!

  • Feeling nostalgic....awesome!
