Trick is to make this stuff and stop talking about it. I made a similar machine when I was about 10 years old (out of my meccano set). When you actually make this stuff, then you'll start to understand.
you were obviously asleep during your dynamics class... do you know about the resistance to angular motion caused by the mass moments of inertia of the bodies in this system? do you have any fucking clue how motion works?
