Amazing, George Duke is a legend and it's easy to see why, but this piano sure sounds amazing, as natural as anything I've ever heard. Pricey but awesome !
@dionreload REDGUARD!!!! WOULD MURDER, THEN RESURRECT IT AND THEN SHOOT AN ARROW TO ITS KNEE JUST TO SHOW WHO'S THE BOSS....yeah i dont know why i got so exited .. sorry about that ..
create employment OBAMA! Outlaw digi pianos! 400,000 factory jobs. Ban cheap ass Korean imports! Steinway running at full capacity 24/7 churning out quality American made pianos for a reasonable price. A piano in every restaurant and bar! 50,000 new piano tuner positions! Live music! More work and better pay for the massive surplus of jazz pianists.
digital pianos suck. they should be outlawed as harmful to the physiology of pianists. fingers, wrists, arm, back,- And to their touch when they are lucky enough to return to a REAL PIANO. And harmful to their souls.
You, see, there are REAL pianos, and then there are these others...........
@markmarktarmann dude,if i didn't have my electric piano, i probabaly wouldn' play (BY FAR) as good as i play now because my family and all the neigbours in the flat would have lost their nerves because of all the late night hours of practice. So the electric pianos do have a reason, but it definitely can't be compared to a Steinway, played 2 in my life, best musical moments ever, go check out my channel if you wanna see! ;-)
@KadlecSvk dude my sensitive santa cruz (cali, dude) neighbors downstairs complained to the manager when i practiced DURING 'THE DAY on my digi piano. not because of foot stomping on the sustain pedal, just my fingers hitting bottom on the keyboard. wankers. i should hauled an upright in there and told them to kiss my ass. but i was subletting so i was not in a position to make waves.
sound´s like an electronic piano to my ears, totally different from a real one. Play Debussy "Clair de Lune" and you´ll listen it lacks something. On a real piano, every time you play a note it sounds different, even if you play on the same force. Here, as on sample pianos, they sound alike.
With that ever present not to be tweaked out of existence overly bright Roland sound, ideal for cutting through a pop mix, deathly wrong / undesirable for classical music. - and priced to sell like hotcakes, I'm sure. When will companies stop trying to look for all their development costs returned within one year?
@abzgroupinc Of course but my taste is based on being a musicologist with a masters and Duke is a more well rounded musician then Peterson.Duke did heavy metal, contemporary avent garde, classical and hard rock with zappa. He gets the nod.
@fadethetrade Did you actually type that dribble? Why yes, I believe you did. Can you demonstrate what a masters degree in musicology sounds like? Because so far, based on your words, you sound like a self absorbed pompous turd.
@brianmann01 I performed Lizst hungarian rhapsody #2 on a bechstein grand and zappas black page #2 on marimba both performances for credits towards my undergraduate degree at 20 yrs old.I got back stage passes to Zappa in summer of 84 and was accepted for an audition for a broadway show he was,at that time trying to put together.I never attended the audition.for now,i trade the globex markets and make over 100k a year. self absorbed pompous turd? No,just a guy who practiced his ass off.
@brianmann01 You know, quality music compared to crappy music is alot like a fine dining experience. Some people perfer a fresh big mack over an authentic world famous restaurant. You can say music is all about taste but you need to educate yourself first and then if you prefer Brittany spears over beethoven, that's your problem but music can be rated and isnt all about taste.
@brianmann01 If you have a taste for simple lines and simple chord progressions, thats your taste but its not important if you compare this with some of the great classical works by beethoven, liszt, even stravinsky, but if hey jude tick;es your fancy over the ode to joys 9th symphony or the tempest sonata, then that's your deficiancy, not the person who prefers the greatest music ever written.
@fadethetrade So? Lets see these grand performances on youtube. And as far as 100K a year? The level of income has little to do with true success. The fact that you mention this indicates a sort of clutching at straws. - But nice job at being not only a pompous turd but a boring windbag to boot. Trade this...........
Good Digital piano but nothing compared to the Kawai MP10. The Kawai's hammer action is THE MOST similar to the real thing, and also the sound is much better than the Roland. And it's way way cheaper...
@alpao74 and how is the mp10 in comparison with mp6 in means of hammer action and quality of the essential grands, uprights etc.? I don't care much about the other stuff(probably just organs)
Always the same: in the bass and treble range it´s quite ok, but the middle range is disappointing. But for an expensive d-piano like this it´s a shame.
@TheRico1992 well if you're a concert pianist they always have a piano at the hall or where ever that you are performing at... most concert halls have pianos :) but obviously your meaning like with a band or something, and quite honestly I don't know anything about that XD
@timbottwo obama should have financed the piano industry instead of auto.. no more korean crap pianos.ban all digi piano imports. only steinways. 40,000 jobs in chicago, 50,000 piano tuner positions. 1000 piano tuner schools. 100,000 teaching positions, a steinway grand in every bar, club, restaurant, hotel lobby, train station. (not allowed in fast food joints.) IF I....IF I.eeeeeeee......WERE KING!!(the lion, wizard of oz)
p.s. run for mp and do your piano playing mates a favor!
People talk and talk about the sound, who cares about the sound, what about the action, no one talks about it? I can't imagine it being anything like the Yamaha AvantGrand. The AvantGrand is some serious piece of work. Yamaha has just announced the AvantGrand N1 which will be priced around $6000 or $7000, should be competition for Roland.
I've played this V-piano several times now and it is quite remarkable in many aspects and I was surprised with the rich quality of the sound. That said, you HAVE to have powerful speakers (not included)...so let's add another $800-$1,000 for them. Then, it's a STAGE piano, so if you want a nice looking 'piano' in your home/apt, this is fairly ugly (not everyone plays gigs on the road), and lastly..Don't even think of comparing it to ANY Steinway, Yamaha or Bosendorfer grand. That is a joke
I will also add, yes....this is NOT sampled sound, it is modified or ALTERED sound. SO in effect, one could argue that is it not even a true PIANO sound at all, but something all together different. That is good........BUT it could be bad. It is good in that it is unique and creates dynamics of piano sound that are new, but by that definition, it ceases to be a real PIANO any longer and something different. I actually prefer the Supernatural Roland sound-sampled yes, real piano sound....yes.
The more popular you are in the industry the more you can charge for something that cost $200 to make. Sad but true. I'm your dream. Make you real. I'm your eye while you are still. I'm your pain when you can't feel. Sad but true. oops....
