  • I have a link to my blog in the video description and there I go into all the detail you need. Yes these larvae are maggots, I just don't usually use that word because of the negative connotation. Until house flies black soldier flies (Hermetia illucens) don't transmit disease. They don't bite or pester people in any way. The larvae are also sold under the brand name "Phoenix worms". I have directions for a cheap and easy DIY unit for raising these on my site.
