I have a large collection of 1/700 scale ships, but I wish the main Japanese firms done models of the California and Colorado class ships and also more RN ships, like the County class Heavy cruisers, Town class light cruisers and the Queen Elizabeth and Revenge class battleships.
I'm an armor modeller. (Use to be a ship modeller). And i'm think about making another ship for something different. I just wanted to know how did you make those aircraft look like they were flying. I saw you used a very small metal rod? Please reply.
This is the Voyage of the USS ENTERPRISE, an American Aircraft Carrier; her 4 yr mission is to seek out Japanese held islands and to launch hunderds of sorties against them; To Bodly Go where no American Aircraft Carrier has Gone Before! To Bring to and End this War in the Pacific!
WOW!!! Your models totally rock! Those are some of the most awesome warship models I've seen outside of any museum, and the music is wicked too!! 5/5 faved and featured! :D
This was done with a product called Celuclay. You can get it at any Michaels store. I mix it with enough water to make it a little softer than dough and I spread it around with the palm of my hand. I let it sit in the oven on 100 Deg. for about 15 Mins. Let it cool for awhile. Note- You must already have the size of your base picked out and it must be able to fit in the oven. Take your waterline plate and press it into the base and take a razor knife and carve out the wake. Remove plate & bake
@modelman44 hey I'd like to ask how did you weather the carrier decks and make the planes propeller looks as though as it's spinning. thanks

@militariacollector1 Yes. I used rods and on some I made a tree for them to look like they were grouped up.

I love the models and realistic wake of the ships. Was this done using resin with paint added or ?
beachnikk 1 year ago
@beachnikk The blue water is celluclay and then painted. The Arizona was a product called Realistic Water. Resin? maybe.

This is very nice, indeed. I hope you post more with a camera that gives higher-resolution images. I'd like to see this in sharper detail.
