  • I am so inspired by your journey! I am challanging myself to have a relationship with my horse like yours and Mystic.

  • @pattishowhorses Thanks for the supportive comment. The thing that helped our relationship the most is probably liberty play in larger spaces. By taking him off line and giving him room to make a choice other than be with me, I was forced to become clearer in my body language and develop better draw and leadership skills. Try it and see how it works for you and your horse.

  • Fantastic! So inspiring!

  • @klwycoff123 Glad you enjoyed watching me play with my Mystic son.

  • Wow! Just wonderful what you and your beautiful Paso Fino can do together! Just beautiful! Congratulations!

  • @SCNP Thanks for commenting. Glad you enjoyed watching my beautiful boy.

  • Wow mystic is beautiful! I'd like him in my herd of horses. Lovely audition!

  • Thanks. I can't help but agree that my Mystic son is beautiful. Our audition is a good reflection of where we are in our relationship and YOUR audition showed me where we need to take our relationship. It is so inspiring to see people with that level of harmony.

  • Oh and congrats for passing!.. you have a lovely realtionship with your boy.. and he is BEAUTIFUL!!

  • Thanks for the supportive comments.

  • 'VivaLavidaChica' its not about scraping by.. and i certinantly don't see that in this video but then its not about micromanagining and scrutinising either.

  • Whoa.. now thats a pretty negative comments.. come-one lets be positive and helpful Parelli students. I thought that your audition was very good and def worth a level 3 plus. Parelli are not looking for perfection or what fancy things you can do. The audition is about looking at your relationship with your horse, how you work as a team, and what you do when things don't go as planned.. and most of all its about your attitude.

  • That's the problem Mystic - I won't put in a substandard audition to try to scrape by. My morals won't allow that. I believe Level 3 should show a lot of savvy on longer lines and I can't understand how or why the standard has been lowered so far. Think about it - most of our instructors are Level 3. Do YOU think you're as good as they are? I know they've changed the levels, but if you read the self assessment and apply what it says, you shouldn't have passed. I don't get it.

  • That is certainly your perogative, and I have a long way to go to match the savvy of his instructors. However, since Pat Parelli created this program, he can determine how he grades submissions. I suspect he may have decided that the original levels program was too challenging and that smaller levels serve better to encourage people to progress, rather than give up. The goal is to improve your relationship and skills with your horse and that is happening. Enjoy your journey.

  • You wanna set a high standard? Be like Pat....particular NOT critical.

    It's not about the.....ROPE.....

    It's way more than.....DISTANCE

At least she wasn't afraid of others judging her and went for it. And I bet she is as proud of her horse as he is of her!

  • Thanks for the comment and the positive attitude. It has been a journey to learn to put the relationship first and to expect a lot (from both myself and my horse) but wholeheartedly accept whatever we can offer on a given day. I am proud of what Mystic offers me and inspired by those who have more savvy. Feedback (positive and negative) is all good. I focus on what I can learn from it and ignore negative emotions as unhelpful.

  • I must have been watching a different video to these other people who commented!! I didn't think this was good enough to pass Level 3 at all. The horse was mugging you for treats, you didn't do anything at a decent distance (why use a 45' line when you stand six feet from him??). You showed very few transitions, didn't go up and down the gaits on the circle, the weave was terrible (look how close you were). I just don't understand how this could pass!!! Nice horse, but lets get the standard.

  • Good comments and the folks at Parelli suggested longer distances as we develop toward level 4. Still, this was a level 3+ pass so if you haven't submitted your audition yet because you don't think you meet the standard, go ahead and submit it!

  • Oh, wow...you can just tell that there is sooo much more that Mystic wants to do...he is fabulous.

  • I knew it. I never forget a horse's face.

    Mystic is a doll.

  • Jackie good job. Were you and this horse on a taping with Dennis Reis? the horse was Mystic, a lady looking like you was riding and the horse was gaited. Too coincidental.

  • Yes, I was at Dennis' Albany Tour Stop last year with Mystic. Dennis did a colt start with my 3 year old Prince and I rode Mystic while Dennis took his first ride on Prince. Then he had me play with the two horses together and ride Prince with a string. It was a blast. Dennis is a great horseman and teacher. Those videos are also up on mysticpasos. Enjoy!

  • Good job! and kudos to the cameraman!

  • What a happy horse! He looks so quiet and pleased to do what's being asked of him. Lovely.

  • Oh Jackie! That was magnificent!!!! Carol posted your video on the forum. It is awesome. Totally inspired me to move! I have been having some bummer sessions but after watching you I am jazzed! Congrats. I think its a level 4!!! Thank you...Mystic is amazing.
