Leon's humour is so dry. You knew he was gonna say that. I hope a lot of young persons are paying attention to what Elton did here w/the whole Leon Russell comeback. A kind and genius move.

Step away from the Bieber, Beyonce, Katy Perry bullshit and check out what the 40 year olds grew up with. Good musicianship BEFORE fame.

I could do without the KMART signs everywhere though. That is a little annoying. But we'll give Sir Elton a pass on the commercialism.

In 1971 my roommate at college turned me onto Leon Russell.. Listen to what Elton said about listening to Leon's music from back then that made him cry! If you were of this age and knew Leon as i did,....you cry now too! Thankyou Elton!

I think Elton has a point, much of the human element is removed from popular music these days. I like this album because it's different. There is not many artists who have this much soul, grit, and humanity in their music. Great job Leon and Elton! PS they do not lip sync like some of these spoiled 20 year old pop singers--these guys are the real deal!

Where is the melody of chorus of Tiny Dancer? "Hold Me Closer Tiny Dancer" used to be strong in falsetto of Elton!

leon russell was the "star" when elton arrived in the u.s.a. i would guess that in respect to the way leon treated him elton is now returning the favor. both amazing performers.....

As Elton calls Leon "The Master", well I believe with the help of Elton, Leon Russell is going to be inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the class of 2011. Must I say thank you Elton for getting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame "voting staff" off their butts and finally doing the right thing by inducting (very long overdue) The Master of Space & Time, Mr. Leon Russell.

The resurrection of Leon Russell is such a gift. Thank you Elton John! These two piano players are legends and together they are such a treat to music lovers. I never stopped listening to my favorite Leon Russell tunes. My favorite is Leon and Willie singing "One for My Baby and One More for the Road".

thanks so much for uploading this. Elton really nailed Tiny Dancer. It's great to see all those smiling faces in the audience as he plays it. Great line from Leon-- "Now I have to get up early." Get The Union, but if possible, look for the double disc, which has the great "Mandalay Again," not on the single disc. It's a real classic.

Easily the best album from Elton in the past 20 years. This has opened Leon Russell's catalogue to me and will probably do so for many fans out there. I'd only ever seen him in George Harrisson's concert for bangladesh performing jumping jack flash which was great. Also brilliant to hear this amazing band play Tiny Dancer the way it should be with the country guitars and gospel backing vocals.

This really is painful to watch. Maybe they should have recorded this album 40 years ago, before they both became washed up has-beens from last millenium. As far as the backing band goes they're nowhere close to the talent of the original EJ guitarist Davey Johnstone, or his band from 1975 with Caleb Quaye, Jeff Baxter and Roger Pope at Wembley Stadium June 1975. This now is pathetic.

@MrWalterflynn Far from has-beens, this album has been getting great critics' reviews and is generating quite some buzz, Leon's own Retrospective album in the top 25 of amazon when i last looked, along with The Union riding up in the top 2.

@flynn What a perfect asshole you are. Elton is as hot as ever, a KNIGHT who sells out concerts. He helped bring Leon back to life. When I saw Leon last he needed an ambulance. He had nothing 18 years ago. It WAS sad seeing him then. Jeff Baxter? The dude is a defense missile consultant now. He works w/the military! Talk about a has been. This UNION was an original, wonderful, creative idea & you ruining it w/your moist, bambi eyed sentimentality over 1 concert you saw just sucks. Fuck you!
