I can see why this film has been described as a cross between "Alice in Wonderland", and "A Texas Chainsaw Massacre."

Tideland is a terrific film, one of Terry Gilliam's very best films, very different from other films out this decade. If only more people could see it...

For some reason this sort of reminds me of "The Secret Life of Bees." Some of the parallels and the character motivations. But this movie is full of some weird-ass people. I'm going to get the book from the library and read it. I bet it's excellent.
