Beautiful! I've been a Bloodrock fan since 1970 and it's great to see this on here! Cheers and great work! Wish there was a live video from this era of the band!
one of the most talented rock band in the late 60's and early 70's...this classical song was so amazing and like the tittle of this song it was so fantastic!!!!
Here was a band that was too talented for most of its material. Bloodrock were excellent musicians (though the lead vocalist is charitably described as being able to carry a tune), and this was a) the absolute best song in their repertoire; and, b) one of the three or four genuinely good songs they had. Talk about a band who deserved better . . .
very nice. The guitar is perfect, decent. From the keyboard, vocals, text , walking bass and laid back percussion I say only - the band that plays together!
Agree with all here. Bloodrock was one of the great transition bands from the late 60's to the 70's. This song is one a very few in American rock history that captures this kind of floating vibe like your leaving this world and its ok to do so. Hill's organ adds a very sacred dimension. What a wonderful musician. Goes for the entire band. Song reminds me of Yes the River Knows or The End (Doors) and also Then Came Last Days of May (BOC).
They've taken away The dreams of yesterday They've taken away The dreams of yesterday Sixty years have gone And gone is it's beauty They know they must go inside Birds live on the east And paint peels from the ceiling The smell of death is inside Such a fantastic piece of architecture Fantastic piece of architecture
Another unique song by a little known band that never got the recognition they deserved!Still play all 4 CD's often. Teach some of the songs to my bass and guitar students!

Fantastic Piece Of Architecture
A man on the hill
Gazing down the hillside
His look of lost and lonely feeling
He waits for the wind
To catch the grass behind him
His look is oh so revealing

Such a fantastic piece of architecture
Fantastic piece of architecture
People came from miles
Capture by it's beauty
They said "The work of a master"
Where have they gone
The people of the county
They know that time is moving faster
For that fantastic piece of architecture
Fantastic piece of architecture

That man on the hill
He's walking down quite slowly
He knows he must go inside
Through huge open doors
He feels the breath it's stealing
He lays on the floor and he dies
In his fantastic piece of architecture
Fantastic piece of architecture
He dies

@barufa Thanks for the words... rarely see Bloodrock lyrics printed out (I'm not sure ALL of them are worth it, really!)
That one line I always heard as 'He feels the breathless feeling' instead of '...the breath it's stealing'. ..your might be right though...
