@whosej20 ummm, the 5.0 has 435 hp..gonna need more then a stock turbo to run with a v8. and equally invested amounts of money, the mustang, or camaro or even challenger will always be faster. no matter what.
@SirProStatus the 20g is not a stock turbo.. Also If we're talkin sti vs stock american, an sti w/ 20g can beat an older mustang easy. older camaros & a new one, & challengers.. The new 5.0 is slightly ahead of that pack but cn also b beaten by an sti with a 20g (have seen sti myself vs 10' camaro ss w/ SRI & full exhaust & protune, both faster than 5.0 stock) keep in mind 20g with supporting mods+tune is atleast $3.5k, so its not like a stock 5.0 cant justify losing to an sti..
@failchaw new STi could not beat a New challenger or a new Camaro. or even a new mustang. even subaru.com says that it takes 4.9 seconds to hit 60 in a Sti. the challenger SRT8 will do it in 4.7 the camaro in 4.6 while the mustang willl do it in 4.3. mustang costs 30k while the subaru sits at 35k. so off the bat your paying more for a car thats slower in the straight line. super charger kits are a little more expensive then a 20g turbo but you save 5K off the bat if you buy a stang.
@SirProStatus I didn't say an sti could beat them stock, i said an sti with a 20g could.. Also, the mustang GT starts at $35k, not 30.. The sti has its strengths and weaknesses, but so do the american muscle cars if i were to compare the two. I personally favor the sti, but that's just a matter of preference.
@failchawi the base 5.0 mustang starts at $29,710 while the mustang 5.0 Premium(leather seats and better sound system and other cool stuff) starts at $33,710. no mustang on ford.com starts at 35k. then theres the boss wich starts at 40k. but the dealership will jack it up to 60k. i think subarus are cool for doing what they do with a flat 4 and a turbo. but like you said, i prefer muscle over import. just a matter of preference
My friends STi with stock turbo meth exhaust intake and tune walked an 11 GT pretty easily the other night. Much less if it raced my 03 WRX with 500whp lol.
I don't know what is up with the sti because I can stay side by side with the new 5.0's with my 2011 STi stage 2. Must be a bad tune? And that is no BS...
@cdoliver hahahaha, Your maybe at 280-300HP stage 2 to the wheel, and 3200-3450lbs depending on driver.....I dynoed stock 365HP 360TQ to the wheel @3650-3800 depending on driver. u do the math there buddy. Either a stock 5.0 wasnt racing or didnt know what he was doing.
Post a vid of this infamous 11 stage 2 STI hangin with a stock 5.0L. BTW you need a bigger turbo to make dey powrz
@motocrosser614 My origonal post was more of surprise than a bash at the stang. A sti with a 20 g and the other mods you listed should have dynoed between 360 & 400 whp. That made me wonder why it wasnt any faster. It should be. This makes me wonder being that youve had your car on a dyno, if you were actually stock in this video. Im not sure about that. Most people dont spend the money on a dyno unless they are getting tuned.
Dont mean any disrespect to a fellow car enthusiest, but it isnt far fetched to think these cars are similar in speed. The added weight of 400~500 lbs in the stang makes it lose approx 40~50 hp compared to the sti.. My sti dynoed as you said 323 hp and 354 tq on a mustang dyno. Also I believe the sti has a little shorter gearing helping itout. Last thing. Stge 2 sti does quarter mile in mid to upper 12s. So do stock 5.0s
@motocrosser614 Yes you are correct again. An STi loses a lot on the top end due to the all wheel drive.
I have been to the track several times with my car and the fastest I could get was a 12.54@109.17 Again, what brought me to your vid was I'm thinking of getting a 20g on my sti and I came across your vid and was surprised. Maybe I won't go with a 20g now, but I noticed the sti here had 100K miles so maybe it's tired. Hey, you have a nice fast car, congrats.
@cdoliver I agree with you about the car being tired. 100K is alot when the car has been fully modded nearly is whole life. He probably could have shifted better without holding the phone as well. I was at the track last Saturday and cut a 12.5 @ 112MPH 1.9 60FT stock tires stock suspension and wheels. Tire pressure was lowered to 30 PSI. Traction was an issue though. Good work on the 12.5 run of yours AWD is no easy task to launch but when its done right ooo its so sweet.
Nice!

That should not be happining with a "20g", td05h 7cm or td06 8cm even on wastegate boost, that should not have happened. Something is wrong

Dude in the STi should of gotten tuned by a better tuner! LOL. My stock Turbo STi wouldn't of gotten beaten that bad by a stock 5.0L GT.

@cdoliver No disrespect, i am stock in this video.
Simular in speed yes...but top end no.
usually a 20G makes about 360HP for an sti
Have you ran at the track yet?

@cdoliver the weight difference isnt 400-500 pounds, more like 100-200 pounds...the mustang is the lightest of the 3 muscle cars.
