  • THAT'S MY HORSE

  • NOOO I HAVE 2 DO MORRIS DANCING ON FRIDAY FOR A CLUB I ONLY DID IT FOR MY FRIEND SO SHE DONT FEEL LONLY I DID NOT KNOW IT WOULD BE THIS DANCING I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE JUST DANCING GOD HELP ME NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • They'll never serve another pint on those tray.

  • Should I bother pointing out to the ignorant posters in these comments, that jigs, and hornpipes, are English? Not to mention lively pub sessions, the tin whistle, and many other things people now consider to be "Irish."

It irks me to no end, when people describe these things as "Irish" when in fact they belong to all inhabitants of the British Isles. Hell, most of the traditional "Irish" songs, are English in origin, and vice versa.

Educate yourselves on history before you open your mouth.

  • this is fucking hilarious

  • This is Warwick, England. I live in Warwick, by the castle. Sweet vid.

  • Apparently there's to be no Morris dancing during the opening ceremony of the 2012 (London) Olympics. Seb Coe, you're a cunt

  • In response to Scottish Caledonian and legandrydirk you would probably be surprised at the amount of quality pussy morris men can get.

  • Blow your nose for the sake of hell. This is even gayer than the last clip.If this is English culture you can keep it.

  • this was great

  • I am suprised they can dance like that considerig the amount of anal sex that all of them indulge in.

  • I was expecting someone to intervene shouting "Leave 'im Barry, he ain't worth it!"

  • also known as foreplay...

  • Harder!!!!

  • @mdm15 What a stupid, ignorant comment. I love Irish music/dance too.Do you also laugh at African music & dance, the wonderful Indian stuff?Christ I despair....

  • @mdm15

This is comedy, ie not meant to be taken seriously, why watch Irish step and clog when then you could watch English it all started with girls tapping their clogs to the beat of the looms in the Lancashire mill towns,

PS river dance is Disney with the taps not coming from the dancers but played to the audience from tape.

  • Fantastic. So enjoyed this. Great leaping!

  • Brilliant, wish I'd been there!

  • This reminds me of Monty Python's Fish-Slapping Dance...

  • Now I know what's on the programme for my future wedding :]

  • Teehee, that was fun. I just learned about Morris Dancing today on public radio in America. I'm enjoying the videos--thank you. For such a "simple" looking dance, it looks exhausting. :)

  • Aye

  • @Miles12345671 aye what, aye fucking what. who do u think u r to say aye.

  • @kniperr aye put my cock up your mum

  • @Miles12345671 you dont even have a fucking cock, and my mums dead. well done mate, well done

  • @kniperr if you had a brain cell you would know you still have a few days after death .. and you can OPEN a coffin you dumb fuck

  • @Miles12345671 the only time you'll be getting near my mums coffin is when i bury u next to her

  • @Miles12345671 yes thats exactly how its going to happen. To bad u are to weak to prevent it

  • This is not gay or funny - it is for recluse lesbians

  • yeah British retards there is no folk dancing left in your traditions ..give a search of "Calushul" in Internet and you will learn of the most old european dance

  • @kirilmv idiot, you do some research.

  • @kirilmv

So why is it necessary to insult the English dancers to promote Calusul?

  • I am told (see comment near beginning of thread) it is the Wheatley beer tray dance. You can use any beer tray, not just ones from Wheatley, but you have to use your own heads. Good luck!

  • This is actually my favorite Morris Dance because it involves beer trays, Hopefully beer, and Smacking people over the head with the Trays. I could get over the queer dance, as we could keep going till someone goes unconscious! What is the actual dance name. I NEED TO KNOW! I need to do this at a party and see who breaks their own tray first.

  • For some reason, I can't NOT think of Monty Python when I see this.

  • it's sad how contradictory in nature the English can be sometimes, we would stand in awe and respect & cheer and clap our hearts out if a troupe of native South American Indians or Chinese opera singers put on a show for us in our local town square, however just because it is the traditional dancing of our own islands we suddenly become all sneary, mocking and denigrating in a way we would never do if it was the traditional dance of another country. how self hating we English have become.

  • @richard1973 No doubt the European Union, and our own Politicians mission to destroy our culture, nationalism, and national pride has caused this. Fortunately some of us (I am 15) still take pride in being English, and (although I don't Morris dance myself) will try to keep our culture alive.

  • @richard1973 thats because our parents sneered at it. who started the sneering ..?? maybe 100 hundred years ago. when it went out of fashion. The only reason we dont laugh at american indians or chinese is probably down to not looking a racist.. .in my opinion..its good to see that brtish people can laugh at themselves..we dont take ourselves very seriously.

  • @KILLAZXP300 I agree with you that it's good that we can laugh at ourselves. maybe what I'm saying is.... is Morris dancing all that different to other traditional dances there are the world over, and why is our first instinct to jeer, Iv'e seen traditional dancing all over Europe, from Germany to Romania & locals are much more supportive and value their traditional cultures far more than we do.

  • @richard1973 Yes, I agree completely, Richard.

  • em make I larff ...hehehehehehe

  • 2:12

Look at that, That's proper metal!

They've been smacking each other around with steel :L

  • LOL

  • awesome!!

  • ...as far as heritage, I am as British/English as it gets (still don't know the difference though, which brings me to my next point), but barely known my own heritage. However, after seeing this, all i can think is, "perhaps the Germans and the English aren't as different as my grandfather would like to think."

  • weh have to do tht at guides tonight

  • Great CRAIC lads and lasses, keep up the culture enjoy yourselves, F*** the begrudgers, ignore the " Purists" just keep it alive and get the kids to do it in school and find out for themselves that just because something is Old doesn't mean it can't be fun too, Le dea guí ó Éireann ( best wishes from Ireland)

  • I reckon I do a modern twist in this dance in rock and pop music. Take a look at the Bass and Guitar, the players could do something about it in an act of some sort!

  • do this in a rugby game !

  • This has redeemed Morris dancing in my eyes.

  • I love this

  • I take it you were a wee babbie in the Morris days? I've never seen it done better.

  • FUCK YEAH!!!!

  • We should do this and other traditional welsh, scottish and irish peroformances in our olympic opening ceremony, rather than all this PC 'multi cultural' SHITE.

  • Look at the high knee action.

    These are very fertile men!

    England is in good hands.

  • This is one of my favourite Morris dances. It's great fun and I watch it often. Thanks.

  • WHERES CLARK GRISWALD

  • wow read about morris dancing in a book and looks to be quite interesting here lol

(this ones a bit repetitive but funny)

  • @ultramaria

Please do not post hateful opinionated, off topic comments.

  • If you are going to say stupid, hateful things about the English, you should at least learn to speak their language.

  • trooolll

  • ObisidianFlame

yes is 'true' no "trooo". if u r want spell lesson in English u ask me anytimes!

  • I was saying "troll" not "true", fucktard.

  • ObisidianFlame

chicken worshiper u learn English then speak me.

  • lol!

  • Awesome... Thank God this stuff still goes on.

  • i thought morris dancing was somit else

  • Isn't this something that the mentally ill do?

  • No, this is something the English do.

  • the funniest morris dance which i ever seen!!!!

  • Morris dancing rules!

  • how did they manage to stay in unison after all those head bangs. break out the tylenol boys! excellent, thanks for posting.

  • Hah, painful.. But intersting =P.

  • bunch of pansies, dom joly's morris dance is much btter

  • This was awesome. It would've been a killer, though, if at the end of the dance they would both, in unison, hit the violinist's head :))))))

  • So, who had to pick up the tab?

  • for anyone who thinks these guys are wierdos, go jump off a tower. My last name is morris and this is our dance

  • Comment removed

  • Just becaus you have no heritage in your country.

  • Only the retards can't appreciate the cultural significance Folk dance does for people

  • what would have been funny is if one of them, as they're walking away, smacks the other in the back of the head.

  • Fun, very amusing and extremely entertaining. It's what I like about Morris Dancing. Thanks for posting Nick...

  • Cannot stop laughing at this. Genius.

  • Excellent! puts a new slant on Morris. Wonder if they have a headache after that tho?

  • well.. who's to say this isn't what its all about... entertaining and fresh.. i liked it ..they made me chuckle. i enjoy watching most forms of morris dancing .. so im not speaking from a taking the piss point of view.

  • True, but they're funny and entertaining and you aren't.

  • You should see the version where they use baseball bats with bells glued to them....

  • Almost busted a gut here laughin! This is wonderful!!! Thanks for sharing.

  • Lovely English tradition long may it continue and all of you idiots who don't like it, don't watch.

  • Dont worry, bpraag... many of the haters don't like their own heritage, but happily hang around on street corners in Surbiton wearing imported Ghetto-wear or driving their spoilered Fiat 126s whilst listening to someone shouting incomprehensibly about his 'hoes' in pidgin English over the same, tired old beat... and they have the nerve to think that Morris dancers look out of place and ridiculous. You've got to love the irony!

  • So true. Globalisation has reached the UK and they all want to look and dress like US gangstas or whatever they are called. Sad that they do not have their own identity.

  • @jtchivers If the media made Morris dancing look cool more people would enjoy it. Most people just do what a celeb magazine tells them.

  • @jtchivers That is very well put.

  • lol

  • Can't.stop.laughing.

  • Protip for tourists: Morris Dancers are a common sight in English towns and cities during the spring and summer. If you enjoyed their performance, consider donatin a pound or two.

Also, be aware that a folk superstition among Morris Dancers is that taking a person's photograph steals their soul, so please desist otherwise the dancers will be become very upset and angry.

  • Oh that explains it!

  • Looks like fun. ..If not slightly headache inducing !

  • my isnt Morris Dancing Great!

  • Three Stooges to a catchy fiddle tune. I like it!

  • I saw the Morris dancing bit on Trigger Happy TV, but I had no idea there was actually such a thing as Morris Dancing.

I think I prefer Dom Jolly's version though.

  • Lol the second last one where they hit their heads, it's like,

    *bangs head* HA!

    *ouch...bangs head* HA!!

*bangs head with two hands* BWAHAH!

    I <3 this!

  • Moriis dancing is ridicuolously stupid! But very funny.

  • I think you've hit it right on the head!

If it brings a few smiles and nobody gets hurt it can't be so bad

  • @FiddlerNick I think it is great fun and wish I had done it when I was younger. Hell, I've never even gotten up that early on May day--which in the USA is called "Law Day"--yecchh

  • @M3ADXD ye i was wondering what was happning to our cultures and traditions. bet your one of the people who want our flag banned in pubs this year

  • @M3ADXD Oh really? Can you do it? I know I'm well beyond that kind of athleticism so I'm guessing that you are bothered for a similar reason.

  • @M3ADXD Do you know why they wear bells round their ankles? So blind people can run and hide when they hear em coming lol

  • @M3ADXD Part of our heritage. We have some very funny aspects to our culture :)

  • Hahahahaha! I love it.

  • Yes. I tie you to tree and shoot you.

  • dont you tie anyone to tree!!! silly you tie me to bed again like last week?

  • what do they have for a head? coconuts?

  • all they need is coconuts...lol

  • the idiot dance

  • Save Morris Dancing.

  • @prictishluvsboys Morris dance it's a dance originally brought from Romania by the roman legions over 1000 years ago.

At origins it's a spring,pre-christian ritual dance with many mystic connotations.

For further info please check Wikipedia or type CALUSUL in youtubes's search box.

    Regards

  • omg i was laughing so much wen i saw this...the performers are really good...and really funny which i hope was their goal - to make people laugh lol

  • i think a more fun dance is spinning around in circles hopping around and dancing freely. god that's terribly boring and scripted imo.

  • I have see this in Patagonia. Dance same but two man thrash other with rubber hose.

  • Ahhhhhhhhhh lol

  • haha genius

    morris dancing rules byatch (Y)

    oh yehh

  • oh and fuck you johnny rotten in the new country life butter ad (Y)

  • So right, so true. Fuck him for becoming everything he always despised.

Hope I can find video of my side (Blackheath)dancing at Shunt last night- complete madness.

  • A miracle - a contribution from a Blackheath man that doesn't start with a bad joke .... !!

  • this is fucking badass

i need to learn to do this.

  • oh its so badass morris rocks. if you want to learn, i've got a lid off a quality street tin and will beat the crap out of you with it. first lesson free

  • Man, you Brits are so EXTREME!!! This video is so HARDCORE!

I mean, it's so extreme you can almost forget that they're prancing around in matching outfits with hankies and bells...

  • @OuroborosChoked........... English if you dont mind, its got fuck all to do with the rest of the UK.

  • Oh, and just incase you failed to notice, they are hitting with beer trays. Ohhh the whimps. (note the heavy sarcasm)

  • Oh, thank you for sharing ... I sooo miss live morris dancing in NZ! Now I'm homesick.

  • There are sides in New Zealand, pop it into a msn search engine.

  • OMFG LOOOOOOOOOOL

  • They are not Gay, Most morris men would probablly hit you for saying that, I have never met a gay morris man yet. Morris dancing is a tradition that goes back at least to the 13th century, it's one of the few real english traditions that still thrive and has nothing to do with homosezuality. There is one Homosexual/Bi/Lesbian group called the White rats who are American, and completely not normal.

  • Have you ever tried Morris dancing? They look funny yes, but they don't look gay and there is a difference. Morris moves are so jagged it doesn't look poncy to me. Especially border Morris which is the stick stuff, that is just pure maleness.

Morris is such a man's dance, it's stuck in it's ways and slightly faulty, and it won't admit to being wrong - the sign of the straight male.

  • lol chill!..I'm just arsing about!sorry..

  • whatever floars your boat

  • Not only am I a morris dancer but I am also gay(I only know of one other). If you think I am prissy when I dance, ask for a stick and dance opposite me. If you can not only keep up, but also manage to have your fingers intact when the dance ends then you will at least you will have the experience to warrant your comment. Its also a bit general to assume all gay men are prissy. Its unfortunate thats the main immage of gay men portrayed in the media. Its like assuming all straight men are butch.

  • wow, and you told me to chill?

  • I Morris too, nice to bump into you! I'm so used to trying to defend straight Morris dancers from being called gay I never really considered I might be stereo-typing the Gay ones, so I apologise for my short-sightedness. There is an entire gay/Lesbian/Bi/trans-sexual Morris side in America, called the white rats, and they are terrifying, no prissiness or hankies there. I wish your side all the best of luck for the coming season, adn the best of luck with dealing with idiots like Touch my dot

  • @coryfurness Good point mate, Im a jock so it would be easy to take the English outlook and rip the piss out of you as most of you do with us. i.e wifebeaters, pissheads, unemployed skirt wearing pussies, fried mars bars blah blah blah. Ive not seen one Scot on this having a dig, so why do little Englanders go on Scottish sights (tartan army march Paris) and then start all there antiscotch crap ? I presume they are jealous of our fans, because it cant be our team. lol Aw the best and keep dancin

  • @scatmando well said Albanach !

  • Explain, I am intrigued as to your slightluy strange logic

  • lol, morris is great.

  • LMFAO

  • Good Stuff. However I bet it's nice when it stops? A Westmister Morris Man.

  • I love watching Morris dancing!

  • As if morris dancing was not bad enough!!

  • I.... actually think i enjoyed this morris.

    Doctor!

  • that is pleasant

  • crazy people
