  • to much compression

  • what masterful chord phrasing, coupled with a masterful guitar...

  • I'm saving up for this. I hope it still exist when i get enough :C

  • Don Potter seams to be the only guy that knows how to play this guitar. In all the other videos I have seen, the musicians try to play it like a regular six string and it just doesn't work. Kudos Mr. Potter!

  • @SialoquentSam exactly, the demos i heard of this before don't do it justice

  • @SialoquentSam

haha yeah I have seen awful testimonials of this otherwise interesting n different baritone so far.

Good ol' Mr.Potter (Harry's family magic maybe?) seems to have chosen a good path to make it sing.

  • i really like the way he touch the guitar

  • nice played man!!

  • I was lucky to try this guitar a few nights ago :) Sadly I'm too poor to buy one :(

  • If it was a Martin, he wouldn't have to re-tune it mid-session.

  • @guitboxchicken If it were a Martin this instrument wouldn't exist. Martin are content to draw on their past for inspiration, whereas Taylor innovate and develop. I love instruments like this that can inspire new ideas.

  • @ukRobbieJ1 That is a good point, but what is innovation without quality? What is the point of an 8 string that doesn't stay in tune? I have a Fender 12 string that is more stable than that. Likewise, I have a Martin 6 string that I have never had to tune mid-set!

  • @guitboxchicken I see your point about if it doesn't stay in tune, what's the point, but I think the reason that he had to tune mid-set was because of the addition of the capo, every guitar has a little problem tuning wise when you introduce a capo, or at least every guitar that I've played. I've never had a problem with Taylor guitars.

  • @gingieface As well the strings were probably brand new, and as we all know that will throw the guitar out of tune left and right until they're streched.

  • Don Potter's such a tasteful player, yet another nice guitar by Taylor!

  • lovely!

  • Anyone have the tabs for this? (:

  • I'd so buy this....if i had 3 grand :/

  • so lovely.

  • Taylor are considering making a budget model.

  • Very lovely sound, this guitar is great!

  • I played this at my local Taylor dealer and I was amazed at how it just seemed to envelope me as I played it. It's such a fantastic guitar, I can't even describe what it's like in person :D

  • damn nigga

  • really nice tones and sound. thank you for the demo, you have a nice studio, it's been years since I've studio recorded, you have the Phil Keaggy sound, real nice, thanks for the thrill... papatom609 you tube channel,, site: stratconnection com

  • Taylor would sell shit load more if they made a budget model

  • @captaaron1 They don't make "budget models". That's what i love about Taylors. It literally takes me about a year and a half to be able to save enough to buy one.

Best things in life are not cheap.

  • What a guitar player!!!

  • Thumbs up if you caught yourself watching the slide show in the upper right corner of the screen...

  • Does anyone know exactly which capo he's using?

Its a Paige, but which one specifically?

  • Okay....I want one bad.

  • very sweet!

  • man, that's a rich sounding instrument

  • great guitar playing and great sound

  • Love it!

  • Great to see Don again. I too started listening to him in the 70's w/ Bat McGrath & Chuck Mangione & have appreciated his talent over the yrs. Also, Pat Metheny won a New Age Grammy for 'One Quiet Night. on the baritone guitar in 2003.

  • This is a BEAUTIFUL guitar and a wonderful guitarist.

  • God has so Blessed Mr. Don Potter with incredible talents. He sings angelic also. I remember him from his work with Mr. Bat McGrath and Mr. Chuck Mangione. His solo works are well-renowned as well. This video will be cherished Testament to Mr. Potter's fine guitar work. Thank you.

  • Thanks that is the best clip I have seen for the T-8 bar..much clearer to me what it can do, time to shop.

  • I really like the guitar

  • This is the first time I have heard one of these baritone guitars, It has a very distinct tone all it''s own. very nice!

  • Great new guitar. I was wondering is Taylor ever going to make an archtop electric like an L-5? Seems like with their neck skills and production skills they could make a killer guitar for 4,000 instead on 10,000 most archtops start at. Just a thought.

  • Beautiful sound! Excellent playing!
