I saw Bob several times at a 30 seat venue called The Darkroom in San Luis Obispo, CA in the late 1970's and he did these same numbers to the tee, just blowing away the small group of devotees and a few shocked drop-ins. He's a musical and intellectual virtuoso that more people need to see and hear.
does anybody know what concert the 'my girl from memphis' and 'down the road' clips come from? and if so is it available in video or dvd anywhere? seems like he sure was on fire that night
It was recorded in Paris at Café de la Danse. I was there, I was an incredible show. There is a DVD of a show taped in Berkeley which was recorded, IMHO about the same time.
I´m sorry but when I see this, I imagine it as if it was animated. It would fit perfect in Simpsons. "Crusty the Clown presents - guitarplayer on speed."
Not Sure what its actually called but in the Bob Brozman In Concert DVD, he does another incredible version and calls it Hawaiian Medley, check it out
First one is called 'huehue,' and the last one is definitely 'Ta-Hu-Wa-Hu-Wai' a.k.a. Hawaiian War Chant. There other song (songs?) in the middle aren't remotely familiar to me, so I don't even have any hints to desperately google with.
because most guitarists play with very little feeling, and bob is a fantastically emotional musician; every song is a story. Like he says on another video 'you play really well, but what does it mean?'
this was filmed in 92 or 93, originally shown on arte, the French-German network. It's hard to believe it is nearly 15 years old! anyone out there have the german footage with David Lindley, Henry Kaiser, FReddy Roulette? It was on german TV...
i'm new to brozman and his work , but he is already begining to blow my mind, just watching him play is amazing, could any of you recomend any thing i should listen to album wise,to experience more brozman
What is the name of the song he sings at the beginning?

Resonator guitars would be louder than the electric if the electric wasn't amplified.

It is calypso music, an early version, 1992, you can hear other better versions, search for Down The Road

I think his sense of sound and rhythm is completely unique for western musicians. All electric guitar wizards are nothing against him.
