Bberchin. Here is the bad news. If you beleive that creation was completed after the 6th day including the past, present, future even the answer to a prayer not prayed yet,has alreaday been created, then God can;t take away or add to his creation b/c otherwise he would not be allknowing. He can;t change his mind about anything b/c creation was comleted or finished .God put himself in a corner. Let me know what you think of this. Thank;s
I've thought in those circles of logic before and the reason we get so confused is because of our lack of comprehension of God's preordained plan and our lack of understanding of His administration of creation. God is completely free and He is completely in control. Our perspective does not lend to us a complete picture of that harmony, nor do we need it. He is God and He requires obedience. He gives His people the faith to give Him such obedience by grace alone.
So if God has a preordained plan and is in total control, where do you get off thinking that praying to him accomplishes anything? If the event you are praying for is already in God's plan shouldn't you have faith in your God to follow through with his plan? If the event isn't part of his plan, are you so arrogant to think God should bend his will to the will of man?
How do you know that God didn't send me to take away your faith in God? If that is God's plan, who are you to defy it?
bberchin There is no such a thing as a circle of logic, reasoning and lodgic has allways prevail. You wrote this once "Jesus could have call it off but his nature ,character+role in the trinity would not allow for it based on no outside constrain" Is the same illogical nonsense you gave in my last post . Thank;s a lot
What a beautiful passage, even for us believers. It is a reminder we are still in need of God each and every day, to keep us and sustain us in faith, to bring out our hidden sins into the light.
I couldn't help think about the doctrine of Lordship Salvation, thank you for bringing your perspective on this verse. I appreciated, as Afrikitty did also, the manner in which you presented.
You gave a sweet and endearing manner of sharing God's word with the lost.
Lately, much is being made of the Law of God and I'm not always sure it's a good thing as the Grace of God is being hidden amongst it all. For the Law brings wrath, and that is why it depends on Faith in order that the promise may rest on Grace, which is of God who gives life to the dead and calls into existence things which do not exist. (Romans 4:15-17)
Preach law, but extol Grace through Faith in Christ
I have done nothing to obtain grace. God freely bestowed that on me. There is nothing I've done, nothing I could do, and nothing special about me that God would have mercy on me and save me by grace. He is completely sovereign in His bestowing grace.

I completely agree, Liz. We should always remember that the gospel is GOOD news and grace is free!

Excellent points made, Brett, and always a kind word of promise for the unbeliever. You demonstrate God's love in a powerful way.
