@wisdometernal HAHA, that will never happen, I write about the reasoning in the article, the link is in the description. If you are competing in an event that times the exercises, you need to do them as fast as possible, so kipping is necessary to cycle as fast as possible for the amount of required reps. But, that is NOT the best way to train for safety, health, strength and longevity. It is ONLY relevant if you're competing in an event that requires it.
Hey Matt! Great work first off, live your videos, I have 2 questions, what's your opinion on Crossfit? And secondly how would you rate/pit yourself against the likes of Froning/Salo?
@Jake171079 I am 10 years older than those guys and their stamina is greater than mine, they are better CrossFitters. I would be competitive in any 1 or 2 short WOD's, but a few days worth of madness would probably put me in a hot tub with a few beers telling everyone else, "good job, dude, maybe next year..." haha
Matt, you were already very strong before incorporating ring work into your regimen. Given your strength base, how long has it taken you to develop the control you have with your ring routines?
@mwich40 so is it healthy to doring training every day then? I have fallen in love with it, but Im not sure if I should only do it a few times a week.
@lordi It is kind of a joke. Most people who kip like crazy are crossfitters who preach about power and work output, and everybody knows crossfitters are ELITE. Yes it is a kipping muscle-up, but this kind of kip is kind of frowned upon in the gymnastic community. BUt for crossfit it is awesome!
@ffgdsm exactly, like I said in the article, if you want to train for a CF competition as your goal, then doing this is necessary. If you want to get stronger, fitter, healthier, safer, this is not your best bet and is unnecessarily potentially injurious.
you are much more handsome than Zach Even Esh

@jimsiff I am a total novice, but it takes regular practice, almost daily for years to get to a decent level. The exact time will differ for everyone
