Chlorine bleach is far more effective in cold water, not hot. This is contrary to most peoples' old ways. The proper way to use chlorine bleach in a top-loader like this conventional machine, is to add detergent first as water fills, add clothes, wash for 5 minutes or so(on a 10-minute wash or longer), THEN add diluted bleach! The cleaning effect of the enzymes in the detergent will be nullified if you add bleach immediately. Many people don't realize cheapo detergents have no enzymes.
verry strange with clorox hmm dude that's onpossible, yes you make you wash white, but not clean, you are a dirty boy, your underwear is full of bacteria, even with the best soap's(expensive) you have not cleand your laundry, at leas at 60 degrees farenheit your laundry is getting clean, and white. thx
Regular Clorox has never whitened whites in cold water. I have twenty years of experience to attest to that fact. Secondly, the Clorox manufacturer recommends you use 3/4 cup of Clorox in the hottest water the fabric can stand.
Meanwhile, I wish you luck with your dingy briefs.
@charlesr21 Wow, I'm so thankful to you for telling me that. Now I can sleep at night knowing that a 20 year laundry veteran set me straight on the manufacturers recommendations concerning Clorox Bleach. Can you wash my underwear please? You're awesome!
sorry..BUT usually I wash my whites on 40grade or even higher temperature.IYou can use cold water if you want for prewash with whitener..but the dirt will not come out only in cold water! It's more healthy in hot water.
eeeeek i use hot water for whites especially if there nasty ALWAYS ADD *DETERGENT* FIRST THEN ADD CLOTHES (WHILE THE WATER IS ENTERING THE WASHER) IF USING BLEACH WAIT 5 MINUTES AFTER THE CYCLE HAS STARTED SO THE BLEACH DOESNT INHIBIT THE DETERGENT AND USE A SECOND RINSE TO GET OUT ALL THE RESIDUALS.
I just read the Clorox instruction label. It states 3/4 CUP or 6 ounces for standard washer or 1-1/4 cup for extra large washer. Doesn't state anything about water temp. I'll check Clorox website.
Cold water or warm warm water does not kill germs.
