  • Wow, she's hitting the ball great. And what? No grunting, not even exhaling as she hit's the ball. I can't help but believe grunting is a very selective habit.

  • oh god, tht footwork is awful

  • perfeição de golpes

  • I like her jacket :]

  • No grunts? Cheater!

  • lol she doesnt grunt when shes practicing :P

  • yeah not much help to her if she puts off her practice partner :P

  • @scineram you are a hater!

  • she had a really good backhand really cool

  • Rafael Nadal uses a full-western grip where as, all the ball's spin is taken directly from the bottom of the racket to the top, which is why it whips through his chest. Maria's grip is a semi-western where the ball sweeps from the left side of the racket to the right.

  • shes so good and not even trying

  • shesfukin stunnin

  • i love you MARIA!!!DAVAJ MARIA!!!!

  • beautiful footwork

  • yeah, but its so much more fun to watch when shes having a good old moan on the court!!!

  • what is your problem if she has her own style of hitting the ball?thats why we like her and her powerfull forehand...and she has a coach so dont need you to advise her.Shara you are the best!

  • great form on her forehand. early preparation.

  • The reason why Maria doesn't moan or groan during practices is most likely because she's moments away from a match. Most players usually rally with direct ball placement that way the players can warm up their muscle memory. On court, Maria groans and moans because as she exhales, she's trying to put a bit more pace and power on the ball, that is why when she plays matches, her game can look a bit more sloppier than usual.

  • I'm a bit confused. The reason i looked for maria on youtube is because i heard she moans a lot & i was curious to see it, but it appears her opponents scream as well, so why is she particularly famous for it? seems to me all tennis players do

  • yes others players grunt aswell, but the reason maria is famous for it is the sheer volume, her grunts can reach over 100 decibles. It's also more of a shreak than a grunt.

  • Hahaha.

  • because she has the loudest "screech". it was recorded to be over 100 decibels, which is louder than the previous record holder, monica seles who was recorded to be about 92 db.

  • 103.7.。。to be exact...

  • why do I have -3? because I asked a legitimate question?

  • ...oh, and to those who did answer my question, thank you

  • you need to see her in a game not practicing!

  • Wheres all her screaming and moaning?

  • Pretty good if you watch my video you will see an 11 year old girl who's going to have way more power and variety than this.......

  • yah but a way different backhand

  • ha ha, yep

  • Nice to watch her play

  • It's interesting that her form is so much better in practice. In matches she has probably to worst form in women's tennis. Her forehand is atrocious.

  • woow which tennis legend died and made you the expert all of a sudden ...

  • you are really stupid rjcasey and i think you dont know anything about tennis...sharapova is one of the best players in the world...

  • If you watch her his her forehand, she comes over her head without first passing in front of her chest. This is very hard on her shoulder and oblique muscles which she has strained on numerous occasions. Now if you watch Rafa play, his forehand also looks rough but he come in front of his chest before he whips his forehand up. Most players do this forehand whip to recover or whatever but she seems to do it to get some of the angles she gets which she is very good at hitting.

  • oh, and I know that Robert Lansdorp taught her and that Robert is a legend.

  • I was there!!!

  • she looks clumsy but she has great power

  • I love how she uses her left hand on her back hand, Its by far her better shot.

  • shes done....Serenas back!!!

  • shes only knocking up, i wudnt be too critical bout her technique

  • Ugly forehands, no raquet head speed, clumsy footwork al in all avery one dimensional player.

  • It's interesting she's not screaming her guts out. It's probably not the "natural" way she has been training for years then, eh?

  • love her forehands.

  • she has such great form.

  • The racket looks so small!

  • I love her style!

    great fan of her frontstroke-easy..flowing
