Every worker deserves to be treated fairly. This law allows bad managers to hide their own inadequacies behind summary dismissal. Every worker deserves to be told if and when they are going wrong, not just sacked out of the blue for 'using too much sauce'. It's funny how many cases have come to us where someone suddenly becomes a bad worker after the event, but nobody thought to raise any issues at the time.
Really what was 'wrong' with the previous law of signing a trial period contract? One would imagine it was to fair to suit our current Govt.
Current unemployment figures show this law has had no effect on 'giving people a leg up' and has only served to stymie the labour market and wage growth. BIG THUMBS DOWN ON THIS LEGISLATION,only a clown could believe this type of law has any merit what so ever.Good luck with your next job Aaron!
