Indeed, I must concur with the "incredibly rude" assessment. It is "incredibly rude" of this teacher, and I use that word advisedly, to not correct him in these mannerisms. Lamentable, one cannot use the word "teacher" in referring to an instructor at Curtis, "coach" is more apropos. There is very little teaching that goes on at Curtis, LOTS of coaching. Perhaps in the days that Dr. McCurdy was running the organ show one might get some teaching, but again, lamentably, none since him.
I enjoyed the performance, my teacher studied with Jean Langlais who arguably knows Franck interpretations. Perhaps you would like to post a performance to enlighten us?
In many ways a very "passive" performance. He missed out on MANY opportunities to make this real music. And the body mannerisms suggests that his teacher should be publicly executed for not putting a stop to it.
A totally warm and sensitive interpretation. The 3-61 Nichols and Simpson 3-61 is truly a beautifully voiced instrument; needless to say, Nathan's interpretation matches the instrument. Expressive virtuosity best describes the art of this young and exciting concert organist!
Nathan is a truly spectacular musician. Absolute control. Totally into the music. The Nichols and Simpson organ is just stunning. Panning to the Vox in the chambers during the Franck opening was a very pleasant surprise. I love it, I love it, I love it. It's just like dying and going to heaven! Thank you Nathan and thank you Nichols and Simpson!
Beautiful!

Fantastic performance, bravissimo!! Are Franck´s three chorals to be considered as his most demanding organ pieces?

That is so incredible that you played it without music. How do you do that? Good memory, I guess. I have to remember not to forget ...haha
