Why hasn't any of my friends told me about this album?! I haven't got any friends anymore! Think Tank by Blur and Blues Funeral by Mark Lanegan..now I've got something new to listen to 24/7 for the next two months :->
Damon's songs ALWAYS confuse me the first time I hear then and I usually don't like any of his stuff the first time I hear it... however, I've learnt to trust my gut and give them another chance and I end up falling in love. He's the only person who's music gets more and more beautiful to me the more I hear it, not dishing out super catchy songs that get old extremely fast!
I remember first buying the album and seeing the main verse of this song sprawlled across the inner sleeve. I'm glad they think this song is great. At first, I didn't like it... I mean admittedly it sounds very very alternative, but when that final 3rd hits you, you know you've just heard a brilliant song. The opening grew on me and now it's in my top 3 favourite Blur songs.
I feel the same way. Jumping from some catchy singles of them to this was kind of difficult, but in the end it opened the bigger world of music to me.
i have that poster of the album artwork right next to me, and recently got the album on vinyl - the last i could find online in uk! its insanely genius, and its wisdom fleshes itself out on vinyl. amazing.
@ignoranceisgross It's an amazing album. I never understood why critic did not talk much about it. But in the decade review they said it was on of the best 2000 albums :)
