Im 5'6 150lbs. Would I be able to handle a Yz 125 on a track with real jumps and stuff or shld I stay go down to a Yz 85...I don't know which one is better for me
@EatSleepSports5 If you are over 12 yo get a 125! my advice... i think with some practice and after a while it will be the same feeling of safety like on the 85.. :D

the wheelie is in one gear ( u should try shifting, after a while it 'l be easy and u will be able to hold it for a lot longer )
the jumps were okay but u should show a little more dare. makes it easy'er and more fun, and ur corners are pretty slow, try rear braking and then quickly accelerating while hanging to the side you want to go to.
I am planning to buy a dirt bike i have an xr 100r and a warrior 350 but now i want a dirt bike in which i can jump and do some trail riding. is a yz 125 2 smoker good for my purpouses? which are your recommmendations?
@theleadinbrumie uhh not so true 2 strokes are great trail riding bikes. i ride both trail and track and have a crf250r and a yz125 and i actually like my yz on the trails more cuz it gives me more torque.

@theleadinbrumie everyone saying four strokes have more torque they have more torque compared to a 2 stroke of half the cc because the combustion place is bigger and because of this you have a bigger explosion and so more torque, but for example a 250 2stroke has the same or maby a bit more torque compared to a 250 4 stroke, and i said mayby a bit more because 2 strokes can also use the expansion mufflers.

@reed22racer I was wrong about he power yes, got rwhp messed up with crank hp a yz450 STOCK gets on average 45-50 rwhp. a yz125 has 6.3 lbs per rwhp while a yz450 has 5.5 lbs per rwhp so the 450 has better power to weight, but the 125 has a 6 speed meaning that it will always be in its power band while the 450 has 5, they are 2 way different bikes, the 125 is for top end power, the 450 is for lower end torque, on a track with lots of transitional corners the 125 wins on a long track the 450 wins

@fitbikeco119 My clutch basket was shot, the bike wouldn't stop without holding brake and giving gas to not stall. So there was no point to use clutch once moving.

@FratusDillon its a perfect starter bike and once u learn how to ride u can still keep it cuz its capable to do a lot. i just moved up from a 125 to a 250 but didnt get a chance to take it out yet. when i test rode it it was way more powerful so no matter what, dont get a 250 2 stroke as ur first bike cuz ull kill urself haha. being 5'6" it might be hard to reach the ground with both feet. im 5'7" and i can only reach the ground with my toes. u can always get a lowering kit if its too tall :)

@FratusDillon yea i only know a couple people that ride dirt bikes so i dont have too many people to ride with. i live in the sf bay area and i ride at carnegie SVRA and a couple other places. where do u live? find OHV parks around where u live and find some tracks. i wouldnt go straight to the track, go to some trails get used to the bike, feel it out, learn how to shift gears and then learn proper cornering and jumping at the track.

@FratusDillon yea lol an open field sounds like a good idea. u should probably be ready to hit the trails in 15 minutes haha. just make sure u get boots, helmet etc. getting used to the boots is a big one, it took me a couple days to get used to them but they make u feel a lot safer. mine saved me many times from getting my leg caught between the bike and the ground or between other bikes on the track haha. if u get serious id recommend getting a neckbrace too, an EVS one is pretty cheap

u dont need to use ur clutch all yamaha crossers come with a (smash gerabox) all u need the clutch for is to start moving and to stop

@fitbikeco119 My clutch basket was shot, the bike wouldn't stop without holding brake and giving gas to not stall. So there was no point to use clutch once moving.

dude i have a yz125 also thier fast, i had to ride with no clutch to because i went over backwards pulling a wheelie. and not to be a know it all but dont gas on the end of a jump ive done that once and it hurt

hey whats up bro really sweey bike :) im about 5'6 and 160 pounds(all muscle) lol but im thinking about getting a yz 125 for my first bike next spring. is that a good beginner bike? if not what do you suggest/ anwser back soon thanks l8ta

@FratusDillon its a perfect starter bike and once u learn how to ride u can still keep it cuz its capable to do a lot. i just moved up from a 125 to a 250 but didnt get a chance to take it out yet. when i test rode it it was way more powerful so no matter what, dont get a 250 2 stroke as ur first bike cuz ull kill urself haha. being 5'6" it might be hard to reach the ground with both feet. im 5'7" and i can only reach the ground with my toes. u can always get a lowering kit if its too tall :)

@FratusDillon yea i only know a couple people that ride dirt bikes so i dont have too many people to ride with. i live in the sf bay area and i ride at carnegie SVRA and a couple other places. where do u live? find OHV parks around where u live and find some tracks. i wouldnt go straight to the track, go to some trails get used to the bike, feel it out, learn how to shift gears and then learn proper cornering and jumping at the track.

@jumpMATTjump yeah dude, i live in mass assonety, like 5 mins away from the freetown state forrest. literally 5 mins away and they have trails for miles bro, look it up on youtube, like type in riding in freetown state forrest but yeah im just gonna have to make some new friends haha and yea i was planin on going to like an open field and getting a feel for the bike befor i even went in the trails, id wanna embaress myseelf hah ya know.

@FratusDillon yea lol an open field sounds like a good idea. u should probably be ready to hit the trails in 15 minutes haha. just make sure u get boots, helmet etc. getting used to the boots is a big one, it took me a couple days to get used to them but they make u feel a lot safer. mine saved me many times from getting my leg caught between the bike and the ground or between other bikes on the track haha. if u get serious id recommend getting a neckbrace too, an EVS one is pretty cheap
