@PhenomQuadcore If you're sure you're using the right firmware file for your router, I would check to see WHICH file you're using. DD-WRT deploys a number of different firmware files with different features because of flash size limitations, make sure your router supports it and get the std or standard one.
A truly clearly illustrated and well thoughout tutorial. thank you for taking the time to make this easy to follow step by step instructional video. I had upgraded my wrt54g v2 firmware with paid firmware but it never worked. I though to give it one more try before trashing it (after more than 5 years). It is now working thanks to you. KUDOS TO YOU!!!!
I have two wrt54Gl routers and i want to make a repeater one of them. I did that you say but if i go next to the repeater my signal strength is not changing. but if i disable on my notebook the wireless network and i connect the notebook with the repeater (UTP) i have internet. what could be the problem? thanks
@Hiberniust What is the signal strength when you're next to your repeater? The computer will most likely stay with the wireless signal that provides the best speed and/or the least hops to the internet if the signal is sufficient enough to do so. It should only switch if the signal strength gets too low and starts causing packet loss. Also, make sure that your SSID is the same on both nodes and the IP information is correct on both as well.
@Miller618x Typically, it won't matter if the host router supports bridging because the host router would just see the client router as just another device. If the client router is unbridged, the host router will only see the client router. If the client router is bridged, the host router will see all devices connected to the client router. It's just a matter of connectivity to those devices. I see no reason that your set up wouldn't work.
It's quite remarkable that just changing the firmware on my WRT54GL and putting the STD DD-WRT makes it awesome.

does the host router have to suport bridging? im trying to do this with a 2wire from bell (host router) to my trendnet tew-632brp (with dd-wrt)
