  • Will you guys please check out my cover on We Cry by the Script using the Boss RC-30 loop pedal? :D thanks!

  • Explain to a new by why would i wanna record this?I love what I gotten now its an delta tube. But I ordered a multi padel pack I think it has six that come with it.

  • Do you have to use a pedalboard with the loop station?

  • Hi there,

I was wondering if it's possible to connect a mic to the rc 2 loopstation instead of a guitar.

I'm looking for a loopstation, but i want to keep it as simple as possible, beceause I don't wanna have to much distraction of to much turning and switching of stuff on a loopstation or other effectmachine.

cind regards, Anouk ( from belgium)

  • @anouk891 Yes you can plug anything in with a 1/4 " phone plug. There is also a mini-plug input so you can plug in out put from a computer or CD player. It works well with very simple microphones ... I'll attach a video from trying things out here.

  • @SeadartVSG Super thanku hé! I really apprechiate your help. Let me know when you've attached a vides of the connections! Cind regards, Anouk.

And hope to here from you soon again. :)

  • @anouk891 Yes, you can connect a mic to the rc 2 loopstation.

    sincerely, Ayoub (from the netherlands)

  • @gewoonayoub Thanks for your help! :) cind regards, Anouk ( from Belgium)

  • thanks dude!

  • Loop stations have always seemed scary to me, because they've always seemed so complicated. But I bought the Jam Man Stereo from Digitech and I was able to figure it out in under a half hour. Good video, man :)

If you wanna see a very quick demo of the Jam Man, check out the response I posted. I'll warn you now, though. It's probably not a style you were wanting to hear lol.

  • Can you loop vocals and guitar at the same time with this?

  • @TheZiglee if you have a mic and guitar cable plugged in, i guess through a splitter, cant imagine running a guitar and mic throuch a quarter inch jack would sound good though

  • Can somebody help please. I bought this one second hand. It has like a second metronome sound going on all the time. I already pressed the delete a thousand times, but it's still there while recording. It doesn't seem to be the drum beat metronome because I can adjust this and make it work at different tempos...but this other click sound is still always there and always stays at the same tempo.

  • How many tracks can I record with it?

  • Thanks a lot!!!

  • How do you factory reset this stomp box?

  • yeah I'm not sure why you didn't put your own riff in this demo.can you skip the tempo function entirely its seems like it would be more of a p[ain or hazard during live performace.

  • Super helpful, i loved the final demo, and reading through the FAQ's you seem to really know your stuff, thanks for the tips!

  • Useful vid - I have one of these but I've never really known how to use the bugger so this helps a lot. Thanks.

  • @FrederikOhrt Ya seriously

  • I just got one of these loop pedals and your video really helped me understand it a lot more, thanks!:D

  • Great video! You mention around 7:10 in your video that you save just the drum tracks to a memory slot and then play over that. I can't get mine to save just the drum track without having recorded something over the drum track. I really just want the rhythm down and then I can record something over it without have to save a guitar part to a memory slot. Am I missing something obvious? Thanks.

  • Hi. I'm looking for a loopstation. I have a question: Could you connect a mic in this one? Like Guitar and voice loops at same time?

  • Dude, I know you got good intentions, but too much talking!

  • Thx man!

  • I know you can get the RC-2 to be playing the drum track whilst it is in auto mode waiting for you to play (so you can come in 'on beat' ) - I did it once by accident but I struggle with doing it again - how do you do this? (please!!)

  • This is probably a stupid question but the only way to change your tone with the looper would be with FX pedals right? Like I couldn't turn on the overdrive on my amp, play a riff and loop it, then turn off the overdrive and play something clean over it?

  • @RiffinCH88

I think if u hook the RC-2 into your amps fx loop you'll be able to do that.

  • @shredtilyurdead Yup thanks! I actually found that out a few days ago. My amp didn't have one so I took it to a shop and it's getting one added right now.

  • really good video =D would you be able to use it with a keytar?

  • @speedymeady330 its pretty much universal, so if you can plug it in, yea

  • ok it can be used with the guitar wat if i want to loop something i did on a keyboard can the rc-2 be used for a keyboard?

  • @bigftrack u should be able to do that since looping can be done for keyboard with a RC30 pedal

  • /watch?v=xvytJ4nSDVM

  • JAD?????

  • Good job explaining the loop sta.

  • The rc2 are around £100 you may get them less on eBay, or the rc3 is around £140 ish.

  • can this be used with basses too?

  • i have two older double pedals loopstations i noticed that your saying you dont have to be a master pedal stomper to get the timming just right is that how that works and have you had any problems with it not picking up the first part of your note when in auto mode ..this video makes me want to go out and but another loop station the stereo one is awesome looking

  • man shut up i wanna hear the pedal

  • can you use the pedal for bass gutairs

  • Your welcome to ask me question about boss loop pedals.

  • @KevinMinney How much?

  • how does this compare to the jam man pedal?

  • Can you tell me if when you record onto the 11 memory slots do the type of drums you choose for each track stay as you set them?

  • @RnRJBook Yes, it saves the track data as well so you don't have to re-set it each time.

  • can i use it for a keyboard

    ?

  • Spiderman?

  • Not very helpful. Alot of jibber-jab.

  • whats the song @ 9:00 ? thanks!

  • Just something I made up on the spot. Loosely influenced by Collective Soul's "Adored". It is a similar intro riff.

  • @azb24 can you pause a loop on this pedal and start playing it again like in ed sheeran looping an intro then pausing it for a verse and starting it again in the chorus without having to loop ity all again or bending down to fiddle with any nobs?

  • lol our local guitar shop has so many of those loop pedals since years and nobody buys them(idk why) soo they sold it to me for 10$ :D

  • @atrxroller Where do you live???

  • @SofaCitySweetheart in a country called kuwait

  • @atrxroller Sounds like pedal heaven!

  • can u put a bass loop, this is probably stupid to ask but thought i might as well

  • can u coble a mic on the input?

  • after you shut down the pedal , the pedal haves any memory at all? so u can use leater any recordings leater on?

  • @hackzide Yes, as long as you have saved your recordings to one of the banks.

  • Is some Boss guy holding a gun to your neck? You're panting nervously!

  • the boomerang phrase III is like 500 bucks but damn if its not worth it

  • Hello, Is it possible to record without the drum track or do you just put the output level down?

  • @bskkid4eva Just turn the level to 0 on the track.

  • @azb24 hey i was just wondering if you get a lot of questions about your gear??

  • can you loop both a guitar and a microphone with this pedal? I was wondering if there are enough input ports. I would really like to know.

  • @NataGrace19 No, but the RC-20 and RC-50 have inputs for both guitar and microphone.

  • Thanks for taking the time to make this video it helped me out.

  • I used to have the same one and its bad ass worth every penny

  • I'm not sure if you've used a RC-3 yet or anything, but would you recommend just getting the RC-3 over the RC-2 now since it's a newer version of the pedal and it's not that much more in cost?(RC-2/$189.99 on MF while the RC-3 is just $10 more)

  • @Sleaze90 Yeah, it is probably worth the extra money. You get a digital readout and more storage (I believe).

  • @Sleaze90 or you can find the rc-2 on guitar center used for about $99

  • what model of taylor is that?

  • Does the unit have an fx send/return loop?

  • HELP ME!

Can you take out a single track once you've recorded it, or do you have to double click it and they all go bye-bye?

I have a gig soon and gotta know this!

  • @eleattadiver You can only delete the last-recorded track by holding down the pedal for a few seconds. Only the RC-50 allows you to manipulate multiple tracks independently (which is why it is more expensive and has many more pedals).

  • everything it's cool ? lol

  • And how can I find the other tempo changer pedal that goes into the stop/tempo input?

  • So if you record a whole song in the memory with guitar will the drums adjust to different tempos in that one track?

  • Does all if the audio come from the amplifier?

  • would this be good for performing? like my friend and i are drums and guitar.

  • This good for bass guitars too?

  • When you record things with this pedal, do you record them as seperate layers? So can you bring in one layer, add another on top of it, then take out the first layer but leave the second one still going?

  • Hey man, thanks for taking time to explain this pedal. I really do apprecitate it.

  • Great explanation to the point!

  • is there something like this but with sliders and the ability to loop about like 8 seperate recordings on the fly but for a keyboard?

  • I have a quick question..Whenever I try to loop, the loop/one shot indicator is always flashing and it wont allow me to overdub anything over my base track, and I know the memory isn't full because I deleted basically every track I had save on the unit. Any idea why this happens?

  • Does the drum beat also play through the amp? Probably a stupid question if I think about it :L

  • Wow, u have a LOT of views! I do looping clinics and this little pedal is so old school! My first one was the crappy sounding Boomerang.

  • good video helpful as hell :) made me buy a boss

  • How do you entirely delete a track?

  • My lastest 2 videos was with the RC-3 pedal Please check them out, Great pedal and very useful to pratice at home with.

  • Hi , once again have come up with a doubt as i am not a professional guitarist. I have a BOSS-GT-8 processor , i like the delay effect a lot. I have seen in youtube about BOSS DD-7 delay pedal & same used BODD DD-7 pedal with their ACOUSTIC GUITAR also.. Can you please advice me, if i can use BOSS-GT-8 processor ( for delay ) to my acoustic guitar instead of buying BOSS DD-7 ???? I have no idea if BOSS-GT-8 will work for acoustic guitar. Thanks in advance, you guided me in past too. Thank you

  • @kumarramesh46 Sure, you can use GT-8 with an Acoustic guitar. What you'd want to do is create a patch that has no effects, modelling, etc. You want it to be as transparent as possible so that your acoustic tone is preserved. Then just add delay and you'll be all set.

  • @azb24 , Hi .. Thanks for your reply... You are really a AWESOMEEEEEE person i have met in youtube... Any question or any doubts, you reply to it so quickly with very good Informaiton ....GOD bless you for helping others... Thank you again .... If i face any doubts in future i will get back to you.. Have a good day !!.. Thanks..!!!

  • @azb24 i'm thinking about getting this for my electric uke and roland micro cube. i've heard that the rc2 doesn't work with built in amp effects like my micro cube has. do you know anything about this?

  • @joshd1196 I wouldn't say it "doesn't work" totally. If the effects are in the chain after the RC-2, then logically everything that comes out of the RC-2 would be effected, including drum tracks. When effects are in front of the RC-2, you can turn them on and off and layer loops with different sounds. If you only use one tone and aren't going to use the drum tracks, then it may be OK for your purposes.

  • damn it just bought a new rc 30 boss loopstation wif two pedals, but its frustrating me with the time to loop, and everytime i want to record it plays and automatically loops, how can i stop this? so it doesnt record automatically,? i see u answered a question of someone wif i think maybe the same questions but i dont understand ? could u maybe help me out?

  • say, do you know if/how to delete only the last phrase when "over-looping"?

  • @pierce9ray Press and hold the pedal down for a few seconds. The last loop you applied will go away.

  • @azb24 thank you dude, i finally figured it out after actually reading the booklet, haha.

but now im stuck on a setting where it will only loop immediately in stead of waiting for me to press the pedal again, on every mode, and this is not in the book... ive tried to find a factory reset technique even, to no avail, any ideas for me?

  • @pierce9ray What happens if you select a phrase and then delete it completely (select a phrase, then turn the right-most knob to Delete and click the Tap Temp button twice)? If you do that, you should be removing any setting that currently exists and starting from a blank phrase.

  • @azb24 i think im just a huge idiot cause now it works cool, i believe i was just looking for the yellow rec. light at the inappropriate moment and getting confused/frustrated... i very much appreciate your informed, kind and swift replies, im coming to you with all my succeeding questions, be them pedal related or not!

    THANKS AGAIN -PG

  • It seems at first a bit complicated, but yeah , cool! How many layer can you record to each oter? Ist possible to selective play from several recorded riff just that ones what you at moment need? (sory 4 my bad english)

  • how do you turn the tracks back on after you have turn them off?

  • why are you breathing so hard?

  • FYI Useful information starts around 1:40 , azb24 pllz add to the more info part of the video

  • Hi ..One more question. Can this Boss RC-2 loop station be used for Acoustic guitar , amps ? Not sure on this... PLease advice... Thanks ...

  • @kumarramesh46 Yep, I've used it on my acoustic amp quite a bit. You'll find that the drum tracks actually sound better on an acoustic because the tones are not being colored by an electric amp. Since acoustic amps are designed to give the clearest representation possible, the tracks are crisp and clear.

  • @azb24 Hi.. Once again thanks for your knowledge sharing ...I am going to get one for me , already ordered in a guitar shop.. One more thing, I have a same Boss-GT-8 processor as you using in the video .. I am not sure how to connect this to a PA system.. Do you have any idea of this ? Is it a very complicated process... Didnt find any youtube videos for this.. Any suggestions on this ? Thank you !! ..

  • @kumarramesh46 It should be fairly straight-forward, actually. You chain should look like this: Guitar > GT-8 > RC-2 > PA.

  • @azb24 Hi.. Thanks a lot.. Got it...So nice to see you helping others.. GOD bless you !!.. Have a nice day !!!...If any other questions in future i will ask you... Thanks ..

  • Guys , can anyone tell me what music he played at the end of the demo. Sounds so soo beautiful to the ears.. Is it from any song ? OR he played of his own .. PLease do reply to this. Thanks in advance.

  • @kumarramesh46 The very first riff I played was based (very) loosely on "Needs" by Collective Soul. The rest was all improv :)

  • @azb24 Thanks for your reply.. Superb !! & you are awesomeeeeeeee.... It was really very nice improvisation from you , was very-very melodious to my ears :-))).... I felt like listening to it again & again :-)))))))))))) ..I daily come to see this video only to listnen to that music :-)))))))))..... Keep Rocking !!...

  • so a loop pedal is for example: if i play c,d,e,f chords then have that looped, it'll repeat those chords while, i just play around on the neck but still repeating the chords?

  • do u need to hook the rc2 into a seperate amp to ur guit

  • I've been playing guitar for aaaaages now and I want to do something more exciting.. I have an amp, an electro-acoustic guitar, a microphone and loads of wires - would this be a good loop station to get for a beginner?

  • I've got a question: if you store all phrases, how can you delete them?

  • Great guitar sound. What is it?

  • Hey man, how can I switch between two seperate loops while playing, without having to turn that little nob with the numbers on it?

  • december i love collective soul

  • thanks for the video man!

  • just got this pedal, this is a very useful video, cheers.

  • does it have two inputs...the reason I ask is because i really would like to play Black Horse and a Cherry Tree and I need a simple loop pedal capable of that.

  • @sweetpea7292 Only 1 input on this unit. KT uses an RC-20, as it has inputs for instruments and microphones.

  • @azb24 can you overdub loops on this pedal? if so, is there a limit to how many times you can overdub a looped track? Thanks!!!

  • @TheDanification If by "overdub" you mean just continue to add layers to a single loop, the number is infinite. You have up to 16 minutes of overall recording time, so loop to your heart's content!

  • can you do put microphone in it

  • Hi! Which one is better: This one or RC-30?

  • Hey man do u know if it's possible to plug in a normal mic for beatboxing for example :) ?

  • Can You Change The Tempo of The Drum Tracks?

  • Do you think you can use this pedal as a cheap way to perform bass drops live? Like record bass drop samples onto it and hook it inline with a bass through the PA, hit the button and BOOOOOM. Because thats what I want, and I've heard this can be achieved through this pedal. By playing quick samples

  • is it possible to have different time signatures on drum machines and stuff?

  • Alright, should i get this, the acoustic simulator, dd-3 delay, f-5 fuzz or the st-2 power stack?

  • Dude, got one simple question:

How do I delete in 1 time, like, 3 recorded guitar pieces at one time. You know wha 'm Saying?? I just put the clabe out of the pedal and i know, that's not good for the pedal but please, help me out!! :P

  • youtube.com/watch?v=hZ1paky0HAs my rc-2

  • YEAH nice video dude

  • kinda...stupid question, but i need to ask, can you record a bass track over an already recorder guitar track?

  • @picapepino i have the same unit and yes you layer anything you want in any order. pretty awesome piece.

  • Nice vid man, thanks

  • I have this, is there a way to change several effects during loops???

  • Hi, I have a new question... the RC-2 have a reverse mode????

  • (WARNING - Shameless self promo message) If anyone's interested I perform as a one man band with the aid of a RC-50 looper & Kaoss KP3 Pad. Live footage is available to view on my channel. Any feedback or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Recently got this sweet little guy and it's awesome. Highly recommended.

  • is it a good idea to get the Boss rc-3?

  • @NapalmFerret I've just bought it and I highly recommend it. I didn't have the RC2 so I can't compare but I know the RC3 has 3hours of playback, 99 tracks, 10 beats, adjustable tempo, 2 input, 2 output and one for the footswitch and a usb port to backup things to your pc. A good 200$ imo

  • @00Max00 is it on sale now at guitar center (RC3)!!??? or just for pre-order?

  • i have the rc2 and the me50, great equipment!

  • Great video.

  • you sound like hutch!

  • what i want to know is how do i make a loop and keep it the same. every time i turn gain onit plays it wth gain but i played a clen loop plz answer my question i really want to know

  • I just bought one of these today, but can't figure out when when I lay down tracks they seem to keep getting quieter. Might be a stupid question, but it's driving me nuts..probably something simple

  • Is this or any loop pedal capable of letting you have more than one 'loop'? So , say you could have one chord progression going and the have another progression 'waiting on standby' start and the first one end by hitting a button?

  • great vid

  • @wexfordlad15 ok thank you bro :)

  • Can you use this RC-2 to loop beatboxing/vocals ???
