Okay guys here's one that works. 1st. When ur game is in and tray is closed it says open tray yadayada. Open then close quickly. As soon as it closes knock or tap on the top of your xbox all over the place for a short time then stop. Look at the word "reading" It should play the game. It may take a couple tries but it's sure to work. Worked for me and many others(: thanks. Thumb up so everyone can see

Even if this does work, it's only a temporary fix. I've had this problem before and it gradually gets worse. If you want to truly fix your Xbox you have to replace the DVD Disc Drive. The problem is the laser in the Disc Drive is gradually getting weaker along with the motors wearing out so replacing the Disc Drive will make it work without problem like it was new. I had this sort of problem and I replaced the Disc Drive for $30 + Shipping and Handling and now it works like new.

@SgtHawkinspxs I fixed it... I had the open tray error & sticky tray. I opened my Xbox with a torx9, Phillips, & paper clip... cleaned out the BenQ DVD-ROM Drive & dialed the laser in... & voila... I now have a Falcon that works better than my Jasper. If your Xbox is not under warranty you could fix it as well... What motherboard do you have?

only real fix is taking it apart and cleaning the damn laser i know because i tried all the miracle shit my xbox had the open disc error since i got it back when they first came out so i sent it in and it was no better, finally i opened it up and cleaned it with a little alcohol and viola works like a dream if you want to have a good tutorial on how to do this look on thedopesoner930's channel and he has some easy walkthroughs that help a shit ton. now im off to the land of Skyrim for a bit
