My ECO alc failed after 15 months of use! While playing BF3, a strange rumbling noise came from the inside of my pc, screen went blanc en everything shut down.
Water dripping from my case, probably a pump failure. Luckily only my powersupply didnt survive! So no more watercooling for me, back to air
@linkeloetje47 Ya or if you use liquid, use mineral oil or something non-conductive. This design seems flawed from the get go, why would you design something with a heat generating pump right on top of you CPU where you are trying to cool??? Seems kinda counter productive to me, If there is a good reason to heat the liquid your trying to cool right at the location of the component your trying to cool, please explain the benefits because Im unaware..
Do not purchase technology from this company (Coolit)! This product exploded after 8 months of use with no overclocking! It completely ruined my computer and Cool-it doesn't cover damages! DO NOT BUY! AVOID THIS COPMANY AT ALL COSTS!
My CoolIT product failed within the first year of use in my PC. I couldn't find my org receipt, even though I could provide the serial number off the pump. So they won't even give an exchange. 100 dollars down the drain and a damaged PC. Before you consider the Corsair models, know they are also made by CoolIT. I suggest you go with Noctua instead.
Easy to install my ass, that thing was a PITA to get mounted to the motherboard. I was hoping you would show an easy way to do it but you skipped the only part of the installation that I was interested in.
Shouldnt the air flow come FROM the outside the case and in , just like the Corsair h50 etc? Better to have clean cold air from the outside( push/pull Configurations ?
@Sorraxe I used to have my h50 bringing in air from the outside, only problem with that is, it was blowing all the hot air on my memory and other components on the mobo, so i switched it to blow the air outside of the case. Still works very well, especially if you have a side case fan.
im kinda new to liquid cooling can any1 tell me how much of the termal compund i need to put onto the plate like the whole tube or wat and do i need to replace it like after a year the thermal compound on the plate THANKS :)
I have a problem, don´t know if its normal or not, I have a Phenom II X4 975 BE clock at stocks 3.6Ghz, installed this cpu cooler, Coolit ECO ALC, but when i run temp reading, i have 33-34 Degrees Celsius at IDLE, and at full load I get 50-52 degrees Celsius. Is that normal? I think its a bit high since y almost got the same results with the stock cooler, only 5 degrees difference. My mobo is a MSI 890FXA-GD70, 2x2GB DDR3 1600Mhz Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey. Please Reply...
@probscus3:41 Air is going out . but i think you can unscrew the fan and turn it around so you can also have the air blowing into the case if you want to
I'm going to order one of these right now,Coolit should thank you for getting'em customers.
And yep,ima try to add another fan, this video is exactly what i was looking for, only thing i find 'poor' is the cable lenght of the coolit, ima install it on Alienware Aurora case, wich is quite big,and connectors for the fans are place on the upside system.
if i replace the stock 4-pin fan with a normal 3-pin fan (to connect to a fan controller) can i plug the pump's connector (3-pin) into the CPU_fan connector?
One Major detraction I have personally found is that my Asus P6T motherboard depends on the CPU fan to provide cooling for components around the CPU: specifically the Heat pipe assemblage. I found it necessary to put a fan on top of the Coolit CPU unit to provide this. Otherwise the Blue Anodised block with ASUS on it becomes too hot to touch
Is the LGA 1156 same socket for the LGA 1155, I think i heard it is, however i just want to get my facts right and I was hoping anyone could confirm this.
@MalikIsTheFool yea, the LGA 1155 socket has the EXACT same mounting hole positions as in LGA 1156 so if you have a cooler compatible with LGA 1156, you can use it in an LGA 1155 socket motherboard
I am getting the same liquid cooling with the same case and processor OC to 4.0ghz. My question is, does this require any sort of maintenance at all? I have zero experience with liquid cooling but I want to keep my processor OC'd and realize this requires that extra cooling power.
@pierocksduex I believe intake and it uses coolant liquid not water. Its more efficient and its sealed to prevent evaporation and it means you dont have to refill every week/month or ever.
Okay so since it's this liquid cooling (that's like water cooling right? Just another word?) do you then have to put something in those pipes? And what? You reccomend it in your PC guide in enthusiast system, so I am thinking about buying it instead of a big air cooler (if this is not that:P).
@ChesterRxs I have the same CPU as you and I'm using the Coolit ECO A.L.C liquid Cooler and I can run it at 4ghz with no problems, the temp is about 40 degrees celcius when I'm playing Black Ops, and 45 when I'm running prime 95, so yes, im pretty sure that you can get it to 4ghz with this cooling system :)
@TheZxMichael The Eco is not ment to compete with the H70, nor does it perform as well. the Eco is a price point competitor for the H50, which it out performs. The price point competitor for the H70 would be the Coolit vantage, from what ive seen, the H70 cools better due to the larger radiator. However the vantage has more options like an L.E.D screen on the pump, tempature alarm, and mistro software. Hope that helps
Nice review Wizkid. I have 1 question for ya, you didn't mention what the size of the fan was that you attached to the radiator, was it 120mm? Thanks!
I wonder which way is the extra fan blowing? Is is sucking the the hot air from the case out or is it sucking the air through the radiator into the case?
@bishoplord At 3:40 he sais "air is going out" and at that point he didn't have the extra fan installed. So i guess the extra fan blows into the radiator and the pre-installed blows out. And considering the extra fan dropped temps by 5-8C, this sounds about right =>
I know this question could sound a bit stupid but... in your system, with the ECO installed, are you using the pre-applied thermal compound that came with the unit or are you using something like Arctic Silver 5?
(I'm guessing the pre-applied compound but I may be wrong)
how did you power the extra LED fan? On a motherboard there are only two fan headers, the 4-pin PWM and 3-pin exhaust, I heard some motherboards have more but how do you power like 3-5 additional case fans?
Do you need a fan controller or a power adapter via 4-pin molex or PCI or something.
Sorry for this noob question but its better to be safe then sorry. Does this cooler require maintenance after installation? Like do u need to replace the liquid every few months?
@PCWizKid I don't have an inch of clearance at the top of my case for the radiator (due to a 120mm fan there). Is it ok to mount the radiator upside down (so that the tubes/resivoir are on the bottom)?
@1mm0r74l I'd assume it would be blowing air towards the radiator, because pulling it into the case wouldn't help much (it would neutralize the effect of the other fan.)
DAMN, I have AMD Phenom II x4 945 @ 3.76GHz. Under full Load I'll get max 41c, Under playing Modern Warfare 2 I get 26c and idle id about 20-24c. This cooler is worth it! If you use GIGABYTE Motherboard, Turn off the auto fan controll! so you get max cooling and air flow. :)
That was an excellent video. I'm was considering that unit but my Lian-Li PC-71 only supports 80mm fans. I'm not sure I want to mod it any further for a 120mm. The jury's still out on this one.
PCWizKid: How did you get such low temps? i have the same CoolIT Eco ALC and i see idle of 30-31C and max load of 52-53C on my Phenom II X4 965 BE @3.7Ghz (stock voltage and no difference in temps compared to 3.4Ghz).
Got two fans on a push and pull set-up....so i see 3C or so lower than my Zahlman CNPS 9700 LED fan, could not hit 4.0Ghz :(
i think ist better to blow cool air from the outside of the case through the radiator. if you have a case with 2 exaust fans on the top its much better!
My mobo is weird, the 4pin connector is at the top, by my CPU and my 4pin is at the very bottom, so I had to connect the 3pin from pump to the 4pin, and the 4pin to the 3pin... :/
i got a asetek liquid cooling system on my intel core 2 quad Q9650 idle @ 39°c full loadet over 60°c thats the same cooling sytem like the ECO A.L.C but my pump is much louder :( and it only fit in 775 LGA
is that a haf 932 case? if so I was wondering of putting it in the radiator on the top because there still one extra slot for 120mm there, I'm just not sure if its going to reach it
i have this liquid cooling system. it is very good, it was very cheap, and very easy to install. screwing in the pump/waterblock to the backplate was however hard.
@PCWizKid I have an issue with this product. The 3pin for the pump isn't log enough to reach my 3pin on my board, so I have to use my 4pin connector, an
I have beend using this cooler for 15 months and it is still working like a charm. Just take care of it and it will take care of you.

im running a AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE @ 3.2 GHz
on stock fan it ran at about 41 C idle
now it runs at about 28 C idle (forgot to check full load temps)
just make sure to screw in the block ALL the way in until you cant screw it in anymore
i didnt screw it in (with force) all the way and didnt really make contact
so the CPU rose to temps to about 120 C and completely shut down
but now it works perfectly

DAMN, Im getting this! I use stock cpu cooler now, 30-64 C. @ 3.4GHz AMD Phenom II x4 945.

What happens if you could connect the pump to a fan controller and ramp up the pump to move water faster, would it break??

i think ist better to blow cool air from the outside of the case through the radiator. if you have a case with 2 exaust fans on the top its much better!

My mobo is weird, the 4pin connector is at the top, by my CPU and my 4pin is at the very bottom, so I had to connect the 3pin from pump to the 4pin, and the 4pin to the 3pin... :/

is that a haf 932 case? if so I was wondering of putting it in the radiator on the top because there still one extra slot for 120mm there, I'm just not sure if its going to reach it

i have this liquid cooling system. it is very good, it was very cheap, and very easy to install. screwing in the pump/waterblock to the backplate was however hard.

Can the fan attached to the rad be taken off and turned around or replaced with a faster one? Good review

@PCWizKid Well and it looks better.
Well would i be able to run your setup with a 650 w power supply? that you use in the video

@PCWizKid I have an issue with this product. The 3pin for the pump isn't log enough to reach my 3pin on my board, so I have to use my 4pin connector, an
