you sure about the 2 inches of excursion? because i'm looking at the foam on the surround of the speaker and it doesn't look like it's built for 2 inches of excursion
Nice. I got the same amplifier. Honestly it is probably the best amplifier Sony has made. They didn't even slap a marketing peak wattage rating on the amp.
did you ever blow the subs cuz i have a 1200 at 350 rms and 2 1300 at 380rms and all powered by 400 and turn all the way up still wouldnt blow after 45 mins cuz ran out of gas and drained battery
people like to hate on sony just cuz they dont make the loudest subs but i think they are fine cuz i have never blew any sony speaker no matter how over powered they are cuz i have regular 3way speakers rated at 300 that i put 400 throught and they still sound perfectly fine
For one 15" an extra battery won;'t be necessary. I only put my 2nd battery in because I was using only 6 gauge wire and didn't wanna have to redo that. you should be fine with 8 gauge wire and a 2 farad cap and a solid ground. I don't have these subs anymore.
hey men.. is it ok to top the sub amp directly to the hood batery? or is it mportant to have an xtra batt.. i use one 15'' xplod... i dont have a set.up yet.. can you tech me?
not too bad for sony, but what kind of cap is that? also why do you have a seperate battery? did you upgrade the alternator when putting in the battery? cuz adding an extra battery just puts even more strain on your current alternator.. which will eventually cause it to fail.. just so you know
much of a strain on the alt. especially when charged. In circuit with the engine running, it drew .12 amps. Due to the fact that I have an 80 amp run to the trunk for that amp, the battery stiffens like that cap. I had the cap first and instead of taking it out I just left it in. A battery pulls current only when its voltage is lower than it should be. If anything, the cap keeps that voltage up.

FungryMan 2 years ago
how much were they? are these better or worse than there silver (competition i think) line?
stupidplants 2 years ago
These were part of the comp line, I'm not sure if they make the silvers anymore though. but these were not the 1200 watt craps ones from walmart.
I now have new subs and a video of them in my profile ifya want to check them out.

mmm. ok2x.. but is it ok not to have a cap? is it realy important?
djgems 2 years ago
If yout lights dim badly on the bass licks, then try a cap, then a battery. If that fails, a high output alternator.
FungryMan 2 years ago
2 farad of cap will do? what u mean of high output alternator? is it in the car aryt? can u xplain me men.. cuz im new in car audio...

Thanks for the post.
That is a pyramid 3 farad cap
and no the second battery will not put that

Thanks for the comment. Even though it was to find the error. Boston G5's are ridiculus trunk rattlers.
