Today 14 years ago my father dies. He starts to play chess in 1935 when Max Euwe became the first & only Dutch World Chess Champion. I'm so gratefull for this tribute to Bobby. The music is superb. Fischer did have Asperger's sydrome which accounted to his supremity in chess yet also have mixed behaviour. I think most chess grandmasters understood that eventually, and was a reason why Fischer wanted to be alone throughout his life.

People who do have Aspergers despite having difficulty with social cues and interraction have a way of being able to focus their attention on a specific area of interest and excel at it. Bobby's special interest and expertise was obviously with Chess.

There are only suggestions that he may have Asperger's by journalists or web bloggers. But having worked in the medical field with Asperger's patients, I feel he does not fit a complete a profile. Today 14 years ago my father dies. He starts to play chess in 1935 when Max Euwe became the first & only Dutch World Chess Champion. I'm so gratefull for this tribute to Bobby. The music is superb. Bobby wanted to defend his title, but his demands for defending his title were not met by the FIDE, the *only* World Champion's demands that weren't met by the FIDE. So Bobby's title was stripped from him and given to someone who never played a single match to earn it. For Bobby to become very angry with this and walk away from it all was perfectly understandable.
