  • cool video like it .. thanks !!

  • Unfortunately the project does not reuse a whole lot of new things one needs to buy to make all this - the wire, the chain, the cooling rack maybe even the cool glittery pebbles. One day, all of these will be garbage too... And now, besides having to remanufacture the glass yoghurt jars, also the wire, the chain, the cooling rack and glittery pebbles will have to be recycled...:S

  • @elusneiu I agree. There is more virgin material going into this "recycled" project than actually reusing. It's a super cool idea though. Although I bet you can find most of the materials at a second hand store, if yer lucky.

  • looks really pretty, going to have to try something like this

  • I hope your´e all aware that burning candles indoors is an immense source to harmfull airpollution with especially soot particles that are comparable to diesel and pose a serious threat on health to people with respiratory syndroms such as astma or the worse. I´m not sure if that will fully comply with reasonable criterias for the idea of "green" living.

  • She is hot, she has nice boos ;-)

  • I let the green in once. It gave me Gonorrhea.

  • She is saying, brain dead, to use beeswax candles. These evaporate as they burn.

  • OMG.

  • basically burning a candle is the same as burning gasoline: the carbon and hydrogen combine with oxygen to make CO, CO2 and H2O. Because a candle flame gets all the oxygen it wants, the CO is burned to CO2 (which is not the case with a car engine - some CO is emitted.)

    A candle produces 10.69 g CO2 per hour

Electric light producing equivalent lumens produces 1.11 g CO2 per hour from coal fired electricity.

    Whos green now?

  • @BrainDeadRepublican yea but gasoline can start a wildfire if you light it up

  • Hey! We can have ACORN job creation !

  • it is!

  • Savrseno! Fantasticna ideja!

    :)

  • glass yogurt cups aren't real

  • .....really?

that was a pretty stupid thing to say because they actually are real, you can even look it up if you would like.

  • you know what else isn't real? your sense of humor

  • oh my gosh! AH HAHAHAHAHAHA

    really?

you just are WAAAYYY too clever for me! man i wish i had a bad sense of humor like you!

    ugh! SO jealous!!

  • DUDE thats so unHILARIOUS!!!!!!

See my sense of humors dumb too

  • lol.

  • You are crazy. Candles are more efficient than electric bulbs are you kidding me? When Hydro Carbons burn (And wax is a hydrocarbon). Almost all of the potential energy goes into heat very little goes into light. They also produce CO2. That is not eco friendly. Neet idea but not green.

  • well nowadays we're using too much electricity anyways and are wasting energy for no reason. also candles are not the point. she's reusing stuff that might end up in landfills

  • well said, its aggravating that this woman acts like she's saving the world when nothing she does with hold back climate change. but its a gimmick, i wouldn't be surprised if she drives a range rover

  • Really cool!

  • Fantastic! I really loved the look, and using glass jars (if you don't buy anything that comes in them ask your friends for them since they probably wouldn't be using them) is very inventive! Looking forward to trying this out in the summer, thanks Michelle!

  • crazy ass green ppl!

  • i'm surprised that the "hook" on the cooling rack isnt a damn pop can tab.

  • Electricity is not the cause of global warming.

The theory is the CO2 emissions and other air pollution cause the warming effect.

Candles put off more CO2 for less light than lightbulbs.

    Hence, they are less efficient.

    You're a tool.

  • what if u only buy plastic yogurt cup thing..

  • yes she does :D

  • whats wrong with this chandelier

    i like it!

  • false. global warming is a hoax, and the candle wax will pool at the bottom of your stupid jar. this will build up and you wont be able to use the jar, or recycle it. on the other hand, a lightbulb lasts for years and never has to be replaced. light bulbs also dont waste gas lighters. the lighters are plastic as well, guess what happens to them when you run out of fuel from lighting all your stupid eco freak candles?

  • Why dont you use lets see MATCHES!!!!!!!!

and its not ike the way it ganna be on jar is more likely to be on the small rocks/sand.

  • Hahaha.

Wtf. It doesn't matter if you use lighters or matches.

    YOU ARE STILL WRONG.

  • why...?

  • Where does she get yogurt in glass jars? That must be some high end stuff!

  • hahah i reckon

the ones i got at home are made of plastic!

  • not really... the way we get electricity is the problem. Obtaining electricty through green means is perfectly fine

  • Very little light is created by candles, and it requires much energy to create light and transport it. It also creates huge amounts of soot and burns wax vapor into the air. Also, how many candles would it take to fill the lifetime of one single light bulb? Most candles are even made from petroleum. You can also credit lightbulbs with preventing thousands of theatre and home fires. Fires were much more ubiquitous when folks had to light their way with open flame. By the way, I'm fourteen.

  • What do you do with all the tin from the candles that you lit inside the shitty chandelier? Can you also recycle the gas from the lighter that you wasted in lighting them in the first place? How do you get random hooks, chains, wires, and small candles to recycle? Wouldn't we just need to go out, buy them, and find some other use of them in order to recycle?

  • the rocksmthismlady used look like kitty litter

  • Now just use the candles you made with soy or beeswax, and you're set!

  • Lovely =)

  • there is alot green about this reuse old jars and its a out door light with no electric

  • lovely idea ...i am gonna try it in my upcoming outdoor decorating project..!! we can use different colors of jars ...!!!

    Thanx.. keep it up!!

  • wow!!!!! this is an awesome idea.

  • i have used the water bottles and placed them on a turning table top. it is beautiful.

    **KISSES**

  • Michelle keep the GIY projects coming I love them all :D
