I can concur with Thepaulbunyon, i have 60% hearing loss in my right ear and 98% in my left. i can hear ok, but nit great with hearing aids, while i listen to this my hearing aids are at full volume. still a awesome song.
@TriedAndDiedButStill I lost most of my hearing because of cancer when I was 2, but my parents didn't even know that I had a hearing loss until I was 4, because I could talk just like a normal person. I know exactly what you are talking about with the memorizing of the lyrics because that is the same way that actually memorize them. I can some times remember the lyrics without the music, but most of the time I am like you.
@ThePaulBunyun Really sad hearing that, I had an operation on my left ear drum after it was pierced by something pretty sharp all the way through when I was 7. I'm 16 now, and I can still feel my hearing in that ear pretty weak, yet I haven't told anyone. My family think my hearings fine, but I'm not going to cause a fuss over one ear. You're probably facing much worse than me, much worser, so believe me, I feel for you :(
@SherryZProductions Thanks for the kind words, but in all honesty, I don't let my hearing affect me much. I just learned to adapt to it because this is the way that I always remember my hearing to be. Since I don't remember what my 'regular' hearing was like, so I really can't say that I miss it. Besides, complaining won't help me hear better. I'm glad to see that you deal with it without being a complainer and that you have also adapted to your hearing loss.

@loliepop555 yeah, i have an 80 % hearing loss due to chemotherapy from leukemia when i was two years old. however, with hearing aids, i can hear music fine, but i have a lot of trouble telling what the lyrics to a song is. so for like me, this video helps a lot
@MetalMakesMeEargasm Yeah, I can hear the words, but I have a lot of trouble actually making out the words, so I listen to very few songs that I can't find the lyrics to. Once I memorize the lyrics though, I can usually make out most of the words in almost any song.
@ThePaulBunyun Can you suggest songs that you can hear the lyrics in that I can tell my dad about? I have great hearing so I don't exactly know what he can hear or not.
@MetalMakesMeEargasm I'm not sure. I can listen to almost any song once I learn the lyrics. My problem lies with the fact that I have a hard time hearing and making out the finer points of most of words, especially with music in the background. That is where videos like this one become very handy. Once I learn the lyrics, I can go onto the regular music video and not have a problem. Since I know the words, then I can fill in the what I wasn't able to understand the first time.
@MetalMakesMeEargasm That is what I would suggest for your dad to try, but hearing loss affects people differently, and I'm not sure how your dad would adapt to my style learning music. Hopefully, he can adapt to it quickly. I wish I could be of more help and give you song titles or groups that are easier to listen to, but that's a question that I really don't know how to answer. Hopefully this helps, and let me know how it plays out.
@MetalMakesMeEargasm The one thing that I can suggest with songs is try to find songs where the words are clearer and not dragged out. This song for instance, the words are dragged out, which fits the song, but makes it harder to understand the lyrics.
Dat "[Instrumental]" is written so deaf people can understand what's happening.
