  • i use a base coat of dark flesh followed by tallarn flesh. then i build up layers of tallarn/bleached bone mix until im satisfied with the skin tone.

  • i use testors, i hope their cream color works just as well as the rosy flesh and citadel stuff

  • The way i paint faces (when i'm using a white undercoat) is to create a wash out of tallarn flesh then wait for that to dry and then do a final highlight of elf flesh.

  • Excellent idea. Smarter if you ask me. If I only primed white ....arrrrggghhh... LOL

  • I hardly ever prime white, it takes to long to paint everything black, plus i like the darker, more sinister, look of the black undercoat

  • whats that song in the intro

  • FAQ Number 1: Slayer, Seaons in the Abyss, Skeletons of society.

LOL, I get that question soooo much. You can hear the full version with video here on Youtube. This is a sample of a cover that a buddy did.

  • nice vid

  • Why, thank you! Looking for new vids man. How are we suppose to swim in the dew with no material.

  • although i use GW paints but still helps!

  • You can still use GW colors to do it you just have to mix in a tiny amount of white and a tiny bit of blood red, or you could just use Gryph sepia wash.

  • cool, ive been lokking for a vid like this! thnx

  • Glad I could help. If there is something lacking in the second half let me know and I will look out for that in the next one.

  • how decent does reaper go over black?

  • Most colors go very well, but some seem universally bad (no matter the brand) like yellow and white.

  • I guess your right on the most part, but there is one brand that goes on exceptionally well, the foundation paints, i love using their yellow and white.

  • True! I do think of foundation as GW though. You are right I never use them cause they seem to go on so thick. I guess I need to give them another chance. I keep hearing good things about P3 paints. Thanks for the comment

  • thats a cool little sysystem but i think that theirs a cool little thing about having a chance to mix up the mid tones and higlights because evryone has their own skin tones but you do rock shiznaft you relly do WHAT a LEDGEND

  • You are right, I was just saying that for the sake of consistancy. I agree, I use all the skin colors to get the variation. But just mixing your own would be cool too. Thanks for the feedback and the kind words.

  • you've inspired me to repaint 4000 points of ultramarines to blood ravens

  • dude thats dedication !!! 5 gold stars lol

  • Tell me about it.

  • WOW thanks! That is possibly the coolest thing I have heard so far. I never thought that this blog would inspire anyone. I just wanted to document my work and keep myself on track. You guys are great!

  • Great tutorial where did u get those paints

  • I got them from my local game shop. They are available online. I think they are one of the least expensive paints right now. Then again I always buy 3 so i guess not so cheap for me LOL

  • I was wondering - could you do something like and Imperial Guardsmen with a helmet? I've been having a lot of trouble with them.

  • yes

  • what primer do you use?

  • look at 3:08

  • lol ya i know i posted that before i got there. I love their primer but my LCGS no longer carries it. Thank you :)

  • Well, I suppose I could give Reaper paints a shot...I heard about the triad system, but didn't know it worked like that. Thanks Shiznaft.

  • Sure
