Relax, that glacier has been melting for thousands of years. In a few thousand more years it might finally melt and some trees can grow there. Some cute furry animals can live in the trees too.

b5201: There is ice which doesn't affect sea level (ice shelf). There is one that raises see level (ice from land) but I've never heard of melting ice "lowering" the water level. How could this possibly happen? Inverted gravitation?
Try the following, fill a glass halfway with water, add ice. m=Mark the water level with a marker(not where the top of the ice is). Let it melt. Mark the location of the water level again and you will notice it is below the original level. Ice that is floating will lower the water level.
Not continental ice... and also, the water level remains constant because the volume of water which the ice displaces in the glass is equal to the same volume of water. Therefor the sea level is unaffected. With continental ice however, its just like pouring more water into the glass; it raises the sea level substantially.
