@cmchrismolyneux yup I came to visit her last summer with this new camera. haha I remember I didn't say anything that time,just trying hard to pan the camera smoothly, the stabilizing component of this cam is pretty nice btw. I'm from Hong Kong but moving to Germany ~~~

@basilvictorhomer I think by default, the cam uses optical zoom for the first 16X, then it will automatically switch to digital zoom reaching up to 64X, you can watch in this video that there was a little pause while zooming, that's the cam switching to digital zoom.

@boscochang Contacted Sony who revealed that to achieve 64x the camera needs to be in Precision mode (in Digital Zoom options) as opposed to Smart.

It was only because of your video and helpful feedback that I discovered I should definitely be able to do this so HUGE thanks!!

@basilvictorhomer Digital zoom is not activated by default. Go to Menu>Settings>Digital Zoom and change it to Precision.

@bbdqsony the program that you use to edit/ render the video has to be able to support 1080p rendering.

Ex: Windows Movie Maker does NOT support 1080p rendering.

Sony Vegas does support 1080p rendering.

Why do Middle eastern and European Models of DSC Tx100v and DSC-Hx9V have 50fps at 1080 and not 60 fps at 1080 like American models? Why there is less 10 fps less in these models? That means there is a little compromise in video quality(less Frames per sec)?
