  • R.I.P. Kurt Alive!!! Why I have seen it just now through almost 4 years... Nice!

  • Seriously, hearing Dave and Kurt sing on their own is eery. But amazing.

  • Greatest producer of all time. Nevermind and Siamese Dream are two of the greatest sounding albums ever, so much comes down to Butch.

  • Double the vocals, double dutch treat.

  • Comment removed

  • its crazy how kurt and dave sounded together

  • 1:06

  • Hearing Dave's voice put a huge smile on my face. :D

  • @FooGuyJames fag.

  • @1Sifting Shit didnt realise how faggy that sounded, what I ment to say was is Daves harmonies are fucking awesome.

  • Love these vids..thanks for sharing

  • Nirvana would have NEVER made it without Butch Vig (and probably Samuel Bayer too)

  • Why do u guys keep dissing ONO YOKO???

Thats the woman who John married, and loved. douchebags...

  • @TKDarkEagle they mad cuz the beatles broke up lol

  • @RDR007Commentaries yeah i realized that

  • man why did butch vig have to double track shit like that? i wish that nevermind sounded more like in utero

  • @noaloha69 John lennon did it so shut the fuck up...

  • Comment removed

  • @Alwaysbaggyjeans "Nirvana would of never made it with Butch Vig" Is that a Typo?

  • @Alwaysbaggyjeans You mean out instead of in.

  • @ArFeeDee oops, yes I meant without :P

  • When I go back to this track, I can't hear the backing vocals..it's too bad, it sounds real good.

  • here is the real history, with the songs come as you are, and smells like teen sprit,

before they was really discovered, they was playing live, in club in Sheiffied Alabama just across the bidge, the real words writer for Money For Nothing, Cletus Christopher Thornton, wrote the songs words with input from the band, during thier beer break and teens throwing them selves at them, several female virgin teens got live that night, Corbin call Thornton just before Corbin died on the day of the death.

  • thats a cool job

  • Wow i never thought that dave did the backing vocals. He did a great job. No wonder he got so big with Foo Fighters

  • @sagebuzz He's always been a good singer even when he first joined Nirvana he wrote a song about Kurt and Krist and all he saw in the band!! It's a nice song and it kinda makes you see how he felt when he joined Nirvana

  • Dave and Krist changed alot, I wonder what Kurt would look like if he still was alive.

  • Dave playing drums and singing along with Kurt playing guitar, it doesn't get much better than that!!! Nirvana ruled

  • This is fucking awesome

  • In my opinion, In Bloom is definitely Krist’s baby.

  • OMG!!!! THE BASS PLAYER DUDE LOOKS LIKE A PASTOR !!!

  • Butch vig seems like a stoner

  • Wow dave had a pretty nice voice back in the day

  • I love when hes singing "...when I say..." in 1:18

  • These videos are awesome! Holy crap!

  • I always thought the nevermind album is too much polished, now I know why. damn sound engineers, Kurt was right... dont double...

  • @Sorcerer2k yeah, but kurt DID want to release a record like nevermind. he wanted to be in mainstream radio and television broadcast! that's one thing very contradictory of his. he wanted to be in mtv, as much as you mtv (old school) haters complain. dont get me wrong, i love nirvana, but what it is is what it is, and That is a fact

  • @juandhaltrich: I think it is quite common to try to push it as far as you can and try to be as professional as possible. If Kurt have lived any longer I am sure he would have been going back to more raw sound (like Metallica...;-) I Feel that in utero is in fact more raw and for me a good combination. And if nevermind wouldn't have been that commercial, I probably had never heard of Nirvana. I never watched mtw because I never had cable tv so I am no hater;) but of course today mtw is shit

  • 11 people knows not what it means

  • In Bloom...still my favorite Nirvana song.

  • I love the music business :)

  • i like the video there showing at the end. does anyone know if there is a full version of it and where i can find that

  • @grimreaperdude1 It's the video to the original Sup Pop version of In Bloom: /watch?v=xAy---wp_DQ

  • Butch Vig is hands down the best producer ever. well. not the best but he is the most respected in the music business.

  • fuck i love this videos!!!! thanks MixMyMusic!!!! for uploading !!!

  • which mixer is that? please respond!

    thanks :)

  • @SomeSay95 Looks like some of Neve models.

  • X-Person: "Hey Kurt, guess what? John Lennon married an ugly woman who was actually older than him!"

    Kurt: "Ok, let's do that!"

  • @intotheprog FUCK YOU!

  • @intotheprog You're a fucking douchebag.

  • @klm4298 Peace, love and empathy,

  • @intotheprog You're degrading the wife of one of the most talented and influential men of the century because of her looks. Don't try to make me out like an asshole because it's quite the contrary.

  • @klm4298 It was just a joke, no offense intended, even though most people see the analogy between "Courtney=the end of Nirvana" and "Yoko = the end of The Beatles". Anyway, I love this vid, I've always been loving Nirvana since I was 6 and now I'm 24, so I didn't want to throw s**t on anyone, really!

  • @intotheprog i thought it was funny

  • one of my top 5 favs

  • Aaahhh, when he plays dave and kurt's double tracks on vocals...it sounds sooooooooooo good :-)

  • asjgkahsg This man does magic!

And Dave's voice is just class!!

  • i want the mastertracks!

  • THE BASS IN THIS SONG IS REALLY GOOD

  • Awesome video! Dave's voice is actually pretty amazing in this song.

  • its called a track 4,8, 10 record the signal(voice drums guitar ) whatever and the tech can pull the (track) to its single elements. thats how he does it if you watch the documentary's kurt himself recorded Bleach on a 4 track

  • its called a track 4,8, 10 record the signal(voice drums guitar ) whatever and the tech can pull the (track) to its single elements. thats how he does it

  • 0:45 is he blind or something?

  • @fendermaxime think hes looking up as in trying to remember

  • What I have to learn that I can record songs and work in a studio like this ?

  • Does anyone know for sure how they recorded this album. I mean did they just mic every amp, have the band seperated but playing at the same time...or individually ...such a clean powerful sound and doesn't sound overproduced at all....

  • Dave and Kurt's harmonies are really really good. Its a shame they couldn't write and sing more stuff together. They would have of got a good mix between Foo Fighters and Nirvana.

  • damn their voices sound great together on their own! And that's some top note that Dave hits, two excellent singers :)

  • I'll bet this guy with the orange glasses wakes up every day, puts those things on, looks in the mirror and says: "I'M COOL!!!!!!"

  • @PattyWhomperOFFICIAL Well, if "this guy" did do that, he'd be telling the truth.

  • DEAR ALL ROCK AND NIRVANA FANS, FEBRUARY 20TH IS KURT COBAIN'S BIRTHDAY. THAT DAY WE WILL ALL VISIT THE "SMELLS LIKE TEEN SPIRIT" VIDEO, LIKE IT, AND WISH HIM A HAPPY BIRTHDAY. • fuckin love you cobain!!!

  • Whether you liked Nirvana or not, they were a powerful force in music, and just a 3-piece!

  • wow, Dave Grohl looks like freakin' Krist.

  • What the hell is Hitler doing alive and when the hell did he become a music producer?

  • It's.. weird to hear his voice alone. You can hear the angst and feeling in his voice...

As for the voice doubling technique, it makes a lot of sense... two voices are always stronger than one, and it gives a great power.

And it's awesome to know Kurt was such a big fan of Lennon. R.I.P., the both of them.

  • Thanks Col32rocks for sending this over..

    JP

  • i for one hope if there is a 20th anniversary edition of nevermind, i hope we hear the butch vig mixes. in bloom sounds amazing in this form

  • Hahaha, I can imagine.

    "John Lennon did it..."

    "Woah, shit...ok!"

  • Daves voice has changed so much. Here it's so high, and sounds like Kurt's, now he's all like

    "HEY HEY HEEEEEEEEEEY! PRETENDER! YEAAAA!"

  • 1:07 1:22 !!!

  • Butch: john lenon did it

    Dave: oh, ok

    lol

  • @pipovki You mean Kurt.

  • @Tordek98 you r right. fail. lol

  • Wow! This really warms my heart!

  • See kids? It's not a chorus because it gets repated over and over again...it's because it is...

  • Comment removed

  • Amazing album! Butch is also producing Daves (Foo's) new album!

  • Comment removed

  • lol if you wanted to get kurt to do something just tell himthat john lennon did it and he'll go ahead do it

  • it's really amazing....

  • just amazng, i wanna play bass and have a sound just like krist's (or very similar to his) one day

  • What DVD is this from?

  • @CircleOne513 Classic Albums: Nevermind.

  • krist novoselic has got to be one of the greatest bass players of all time. Top 20 at least. I started playing bass because of him and because of this song.

  • I think every band dreams of having an album produced this fuckin good.

  • hey, that last clip at the end is from the Sliver video

  • from where/what is that vid at 2:16 ?

  • @TheOregon2 in bloom sup pop version

  • Grunge is alive. But these kids today are killing the shit out of it. I mean whats up with the colored mohawks and studs and shit?

  • @dannyexistance23

it's called punk rock, and it's more '70s than now, depending a little on where you live.

Also, punk rockers aren't the ones killing grunge, punk is actually a related genre to it, what truly is killing grunge is justing bieber asslickers that got no musical realistic experience at all.

i agree with you, just wanted to point out the little obviuos yo uskipped :)

  • I could stay up all night messing with tracks of my favorite songs.

  • 4 voices when i was think it was only one :D

  • how high is daves voice here? but awesome vid tho

  • Grunge never died they're just being ignored...but we should do something about it... we who never stopped loving the music the art and the bands... Im also a grunge artist.. check out my original songs... spread the world of grunge... revive the real deal..the most powerful rock jam ever hit the planet... and stop the lame bands of today... GRUNGE SHOULD BE FOREVER

  • tender age in bloom !

  • Dave and Kurt singing together is AWESOME!

  • i wish they would do this for so many songs.

  • "John Lennon did it"

HAH that was the magic word to get Kurt to do something?...i wonder

Did Courtney Love use this? think about it she came on to him, he resisted she says "John Lennon did me" and Kurt replies "Ok!"

  • @CCRockit

lol Kurt failed to realize that John was high on acid

  • @VegitoVai90

    Yeah

  • @CCRockit john lennon also got shot (tastless joke i know rest in peace kurt)

  • @Soniclife91

Tasteless Joke? did you SEE what i wrote above? thats about as tasteless as it gets bro.

  • the first version of in bloom is pretty cool too

  • You can hear the bass and...*headbangs to awesome groove*...and the drums.

  • Comment removed

  • That was a really cool glimpse into some historic rock music. Is this a full-length documentary somewhere?

  • @OregonCoastGhost ya its on a nevermind documentary. just look it ujp on google and youll find it. its an awesome watch

  • Is it me or is he humming/moaning at the end?

  • @AlleyPuppy: it's from the first video for "In Bloom". It was recorded in 1990. Originally Nirvana were to release their second album on Sub Pop as well, but then Geffen came along. Krist is actually shaved bald in the 1990 version.

  • What is 2:17 - 2:24 from?

  • @alleypuppy its from In Bloom mv

  • great

  • I completely apologise for my dumbassiness, but isn't Dave Grohl the singer too Foo Fighters?

  • @Aly758 Yes he is, but was also also drummer in nirvana

  • @Aly758 yep

  • @Aly758 yup

  • wenever i sing a nirvana song i cough like heck and my eyes start watering.

  • @XXNIRVANAXX1000 HAHA lol :)

  • @joeyxl3456 i know. (tee-hee-hee!)

  • i don't care for doubling. it should sound like it does live. like Nirvana shot their Unplugged episode. there wasn't doubling, but the performance was legendary.

  • wow ppl dont realize how big a part the mixer guys have in the music. they dont get any recongniton basically but they deserve it

  • dave owns this song

  • cool

  • 1:06 wooooow !!!

  • one of my favorite songs and im not a nirvana person but this is just a work of art

  • Thank you so much Butch Vig!! You help The greatest Artist ever to gave us the best album of all time !

  • I've always wanted to know how to mix in a studio!

    >:|

Those WHORES that make music usually try to keep the recording process and how to do it secret so the music doesn't lose it's magic. xD

  • well done butch

  • Fuck Celebrity Cruises and all other YouTube commercials. Thumbs up if you agree! Also, Nirvana lives forever.

  • No one can replace kurt

  • And years later he produces Green Day´s last album... great man!

  • Anyone knows which Mesa Boogie they used?

  • @alfa0and0omega think he had a studio 22

  • Anyone knows which Mesa Boogie they used?

  • Vig's a cool, talented cat and that is one hell of a record he produced for Nirvana.

  • nirvana rocks

  • John Lennon did it XD

  • As much as it sounds like whoring out the band and an otherwise good album, seeing Vig mess around with the mixes makes me want to hear a mash up/remix album like they did with Beatles' Love.

  • this is great! this producer realizes that this music is not meant to be extremely well produced. he keeps the organic and dirty sound. great!

  • "He's the one/Who likes all our pretty songs/And he likes to sing along/And he likes to shoot his gun/But he knows not what it means" #kurtcobain

  • This is so cool! Dave and Kurt singing together in harmony!

  • i love how butch vig explains the techniques he used , its awesome

  • come add me as a friend

  • I will never listen to this song the same way ever again...

  • favorite nirvana song ^_^ gotta love it

  • chris novaselic looks so different now ! =(

  • i want to go to the recording studio......... how i wish

  • @princesselaze just make your own studio with todays technology you can get professional or near professional quality recordings for not much money. then you can fuck with it and produce your own stuff all day without having to pay studio costs. I mean of course it would still be badass to get butch vig to produce some recordings but it could be fun on your own.

  • In Bloom is seriously one of the most badass songs made by man.

  • God, I want that job.

  • This is how amazing music is made!

  • @dortas7777 you mean godly music is made! Amazing is over man that was the 30s

  • @dortas7777 more like was made. now its just retardedly wack

  • i love this song so much! RIP Kurt.

  • Dude, Nirvana is so surprising...So good work on this album...I'd like to know about every albums....Specially Bleach

  • @JCmetal666 Isn't In Bloom on the Nevermind album?

  • @JCmetal666 aparantly they recorded bleach in 2 days, well one day really. cause they recorded the whole album in one day but when they went back the next day to listen to it, it sounded pretty bad because they had all their intruments tuned down so much like all in drop d or even e. so they decided to re-record the whole album right there haha. its amazing how they made such a powerful album in 1 or 2 days.

  • @HahaIPownedYou I don't know from who or where you heard it...but seriously... I did record an album and dude I can't believe it...it's too much work doing every voices...every guitars...one by one to the perfection....
