  • @pufixas Dell is cool.. My old D630 Latitude was one cool computer. First to hit 10 hours of worktime back in 2007. That is fucking cool..

    I think Dell Latitude was something in the quality level of some IBM Thinkpads, and thats very cool as well!

  • laptops seem to be a hell of a lot of hit and miss, but what is BS is the customer service, shit they lose customers tryin to nickel and dime ppl on their warranties, they should just say oops our bad here go new pooter.

  • I liked the video, I feel for you Jim. I bought a Dell XPS M1730 with the twin Nvidia 8700m's with Vista OS - because I wanted a grunty gamer machine that I could easily transport. I have been very careful with it and after three years it still looks brand new (I use a mouse and USB KB). The battery stopped charging just out of warranty (after 14 months) I figured its a scam since it died so quick. Googling around confirms this as far as I'm concerned. Dell go to Hell with planned obsolescence.

  • @GiggleHz - try $USD90 on eBay (for XPS M1730). The point is one of principle, not money, after all I paid near on $4,000 for this supposedly good product. Dell is not being responsible about supplying a reliable product. Their power bricks fail repeatedly, and so does the power connector on the mobo. If Dell can't sort out simple technology like this then screw them. It might be the German in me, but I cannot stand failure. Search Google for "west-wind com weblog posts 365 aspx" and read on.

  • The XPS M1330 is a laptop known to have a number of issues, I have had a few come by my workbench for repair.

  • I own a Dell XPS m1330 for almost 2 years now... and its been working fine, none of the problems you mentioned have shown on mine. Just face it man, some people have bad luck in life lol

  • I have had all types of problems with my dell laptop the battery went out after a year and a half then the charger cable broke so I had to move it 5000 ways to get the light to come on also the mouse went out on it so I had to use the track pad to click. After dealing with that only having it 2 1/2-3 years I got a MacBook Pro and I love it way better i have not had any of the issues that I have had on it and the best part is there is no vista to clutter the cpu and the life of it is way longer

  • Well regardless if it is this computer or not if it is a Dell, expect to have problems, ALot of them. I had mine for only 4 months and it went hay-wire. annoying.

  • first off login issues would be OS issue if it can get into safe mode. judging since you yourself have not used the computer it is tough to say whether it is the computers fault or if it is the L users fault. dont like dell keep it to yourself and get a mac dont bing it on youtube... consider yourself teabagged

  • i very appreciated for video, this XPS model is sucked it failed over and over again..

    -I got mine fixed and same problem just came back again within 4 weeks (average use less than 40 minutes a day).

  • I have had this computer since it came out in summer of 07 and i have loved every moment of it. Maybe you should learn to use computers safely and without picking up virus' and spyware.

  • jesus, you do realize that most of the problems you were having are OS related and NOT the problem of any hardware right? You should really educate yourself before you make a video like this. I hate to break it to ya, but the problem IS user error. Windows freezes when someone stupid (like yourself) installs something they shouldn't or gets spyware, etc. I can't tell you how many times I hear idiots like yourself complain about a computer company because their OS is slow... This is just retarded

  • I have it about a year and a half, as a matter of fact, I'm typing on it right now. I had to change my motherboard once because the graphics chip burned out ( I found out that the problem was Nvidia's fault, because they fuck up a whole series of chips!). After resolving this issue, everything is working great! I only recommend that you update to windows 7, it's working excellent on the m1330 (everybody knows that vista is the biggest pice of crap since... well... they founded microsoft XD).

  • Actually the problem has to do with the nvidia graphics chip.. All kinds of them are having problems, i think they may have resolved them now, but am not too sure. Failure rate in the 1330s has been really high.

  • And btw this guy didn't buy refurbished products. When dell fixes computers under warranty they use refurbished products. Again DELL USES REFURBISHED products to fix customers computer if being fixed under warranty. Those of you saying you have no problem with Dell I am glad. But beleive some of us lot of people are having problems and it can't be just the user. Cuz if it was just users then you would hear about other companies as well.

  • Dell does have a lot of problem and their customer support...good luck with that. I tell everyone the same thing never buy a dell. I am not computer illiterate. Within a year ethernet port stopped working...now I can only do wireless. Battery is dying within less than a year. Never had that happen before. It says at start up battery not recognized. I will never buy one again. Maybe I am one of the unlucky ones. But it could be you when you buy your dell. Don't buy them. For your own good.

  • I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 & it's awesome!!!!! I think you should never buy refurbished equipment. I bought a refurbished PS2, took it home & it didn't work. I took it back to Gamestop & got a new one.

  • owned a DELL for 1 year after living w/ a crappy low memory one for 7 years. DELL crashed and i lost everything on it. it crashed twice actually.. and the 1st time it did, i still had a warranty so i was able to call tech support to help me fix it. the 2nd time.. no warranty so no help. it was gone and to fix it prob cost the same as getting a new one. Dell doesnt come w those handy cd's that help you reinstall/fix everything without losing your documents...like other non dell pc's do.

  • Bro, I had exactly the same problems that you have and what pisses me off is they keep saying it's not refurbish and it's new where you can clearly see a big sticker on the parts that says 'REFURBISH". They are treating customers like fucking idiots

  • thank you for bagging out dell caus they are SHIT!! i have a inspiron 510m and i can beat u mine screwed up about 7-8 times, the hard drive not once not even twice but three times!!! then it was the cd drive, cldnt read any cd's!!!!, then lol the keyboard fell apart, all the keys fell of, and then the fan screwed up and then in result to that the whole computer ovr heated!!!!. U NO WAT FUCK DELL PLZ NO BODY BUY DELL CAUS U WILL REGRET IT!!!!!!

  • I have my M1330 for a year now and still no problems , actually it's alot better than my old HP , especially after adding the 4GB RAM last month

  • I did buy a new one but they have repeatedly replaced it with refurbished ones. This latest one is clearly refurbished (as evidenced by the big green refurbished sticker on the back.) but the rep is insisting that it is not.
