  • I'm afraid I don't know how to do that. You might want to look at getting a script.

  • Try going to the weapons properties, press the SmartEdit button to turn it off and click Add. Type ammo for the key and 1 for the value. I think it would still start with a full magazine and that would just add 1 extra bullet, but try it anyway and tell me what happened.

  • Yeah i did it with deagle it had 7 bullets and 1 extra bullet to reload.

  • While I hear it is possible I've never worked that one out. Try asking elsewhere or just settle for guns on the floor.

  • I think the way to do it is to go to enter the properties of the weapon, turn SmartEdit off and add a keyvalue with the name and amount of the appropriate ammo (see the link in the video description box).

  • I think modifying the clip size might be a server mod rather than something you can do with a map.

    Im makeing a jail map, where the T's spawn with only a knife.

    And the CT's will spawn with a set of guns.

    Its like this on almost all jail maps, but I cant figure out how to set it for the seperate teams to spawn with different items.

    Any ideas?

    at the min im making a map, id im trying to make a shelf where when u walk near it u get equiped with the gun on the shelf, i could image it would be alot easyer just to have the weapon on the shelf so it could be picked up, but i was woundering if u could do this by using like a trigger, so when they walk in the trigger u pick up a gun, any words of advice ??

  • You could make a weapon spawner. This might generate excess weapons.

    - Create a copy of the weapon in an out of the way place and name it.

    - Create a point_template anywhere, name it and enter the name of the weapon into the Entity01 keyvalue.

    - Create an env_entity_maker where you want the weapon to spawn from, enter the name of the point_template into the Template keyvalue and fiddle with the options and flags as you see fit.

    - Have a trigger_multiple make the env_entity_maker Forcespawn.

All my friends say that the server doesn't exist, when I'm playing in it at that time. I can add bots, but no real people can join :[ If you could help me, that would be kick ass :]

  • I don't know all the settings you need. sv_lan 0 is an essential one though.

How do you have a figure (eg. player) on your front y/z window to compare with (also like the players in your created spawn)? And how do you know how many inches sertain things are?   • @ 1) You could just use a spawn point for comparing sizes.

    @ 2) Sizes should be displayed next to selected objects. If there is an option to turn it on and off I don't know where it is.

  • When props don't appear you may need to change the prop type e.g. static, physics, dynamic. I'm not sure what is wrong with the weapons.

  • Try adding 'awp' to Template02 or 'awp2' to Template02. Alternatively make the entity maker ForceSpawn and then ForceSpawn again at a small delay, say 0.10.

  • I think that is easy to do with a server mod but building it into a map might be a little trickier. You could just litter the floor with ammo_whatever entities or try something a little more difficult if that doesn't work well enough.

  • Try creating an info_target and naming it, turning smart-edit off in the weapon, adding a keyvalue called parentname and giving it the value of the name of the info_target.

  • umh i have a problem, i've added a game_player_equip and i added the "item_assaultsuit" and a "weapon_knife" and "weapon_ak47" and the value is 1 for all, and its not working ?, btw, when i make a a prop_static i can walk trough it ?!

  • I'm not sure what the problem could be with the game_player_equip. Do players spawn with the standard knife and pistol or with nothing at all? Try fiddling the solidity option of the prop_static to fix that problem.

  • So i got guns in my map, and sorry if this is an dumb question, but after every round they disappear? any idea on how to fix that, i'm making a gun game map, and i need the weapons to stay. the gernades and stuff stay but not the guns.. any ideas??

  • Well pretty much after the 1st round they leave. and I would like them to respawn every round.

  • These tutorials are primarily for CS:S. Try a player_weaponstrip or a trigger_weapon_strip.

  • I named my map with a . and thats what did it, sorry for the confusion.

  • When i hit alt-P is Says "Entity [Game_player_equip] has unused keyvalue "Weapon_m4a1" and when i run the map it says. "The command failed. Windows reported the error: "The system cannot find the file specified."

  • Ok. what i have is a room you slide down and there is a load of npcs there they have too kill. so iwould like it when they slide down it it strips all there weapons kind of like a trigger

  • If you are mapping for HL2 then try a player_weaponstrip. You might want to a trigger_once to output 'Strip' Ontrigger.

  • Try a trigger_weapon_strip, perhaps with 'Kill weapons' set.

    For the ambient_generic make sure the stopsound input is actually firing.

  • Can you explain that more, i'm new to hammer and am making a map for my DM server, but I don't want players to spawn with weapons, which my game mode currently allows(as some of my maps don't have weapon spawns). Can you explain to me how to make the player strip entity actually strip the player and remove the guns so they cant pick them back up(if thats what strip causes)

  • Ok i want all the players to have the weapons stripped so they then go on and pickup the grav gun. Is this possible? if not do u know how to make a map load up a specific game mode?

  • Right-click on Source SDK in your Games menu, click Properties then Launch Options and type in "-engine ep1".

    go on ur gun

    click propites

    then turn off smart edit

    then add a key value

    in the name type:ammo

    in the value tpe:the ammount of extra bullets

    click ok

    then apply

    adn there u go?!
