  • Doing that dance on a flat stage would be hard enough, but on raked. Oh my god!

  • Wow!! grat job if only I could dance like that!! Did you place first?

  • This is quite random since this is Giselle, but I think she'd make a pretty good Odile. But if you do Odile, you have to do Odette as well.

  • wow! jumping on pointe is like so freaking hard! She's amazing!

  • very very well done. she had so much extra time, she was so comfortable, she could just throw in a kiss there (in the line of hops) or a quick look the audience (in the beginning after the the diagonal of attitude turns...

  • i like how flowy her arms look.

  • I LOVE that costume!!!! It makes her look so pretty when she pirouettes.............

  • Her hops on pointe are actually the best I've seen in this variation. I haven't seen even the likes of Osipova or Cojocaru (the so called trademark 'Giselle's') travel like that and with such ease...she is remarkable.

  • She really does have a dancers body. This is what professional companies look for. Her size.

The variation was beautiful. Giselle is, by far, my most favorite variation.

  • She is stunning!!

  • One word: graceful.

  • Very good for 14.

  • OMG!! she is amazing i do that variation and im not even half as good as her amazing!!!

  • She's absolutely gorgeous! And remember, she's just 14, she will fill out.

  • when she holds her skirt is my favorite part :)

  • Lovely performance.

  • Hi, I've not read all of the comments but I see q couple about weight. I agree that dance tends to keep one fit. But I wanted to mention that one can also have too much weight. If one is to heave it can make dancing on pointe (tip toes) imposable. Also it makes it difficult for ones partner to do graceful lifts.

  • I would kill if I could dance half as well as she can.

  • omg her costume.

  • nothing to hate....LOVE HER =)

  • she makes me cry! (in a good way!)

  • Wooow :O:O... I know she will be a famous baleet dancer ...

she's brilliant ....wish you success :********

Thank you for this video )))))))

  • wow! that was amazing!

  • I'm her age and I wish I was half as amazing as she is

  • A changing pitch usually means they wanted to slow down or speed up a particular part in the music

  • THAT WAS.... AWESOME!!!! I CANT WAIT TO LEARN BALLET!!! BTW.... I THINK SOMEONE COUGH IN THE VID. LOL!

  • amazing! where does she train at?

  • @luvs2dance77 She's Evelyn Harts private student. Now I believe she dances for ABT 2 and trains with Evelyn on the side.

  • wow! Beautiful!!!! I want that dress so bad....it looks sooooo gorgeous and fluffy when she turns.....gahhhh =D

  • Great job Alys! Great job Evelyn!!!!

    Love from Sandra from Holland.

  • i love her

  • Lovely again--Alys Shee has gained a new fan in the last 20 min.s. Not surprised to see she's coached by Evelyn Hart, one of my favorite ballerinas, who seems to be imparting her artistic integrity. Only real complaint is the jarring changes in musical keys--best to find a way to achieve needed tempo changes without compromising musical integrity.

  • Faultless technique - the only thing I don't like is the arms look too angular in some of the positions but that's just my personal preference - her strength and control however are amazing :)

  • if she was anorexic she would've been dizzy after turns. not ALL incredible and beautiful dancers are this skinny. some could be very muscular due to the need to be strong to fullfill techniques!

  • @risssm if she was anorexiz, she wouldnt be a dancer ...

  • I think she is so beautiful. I really love her dress. I don't think she is too skinny. You can't have enough strength to dance, especially en pointe, if you are too skinny. There is nothing wrong with being thin, but skinny is a poor connotion and it triggers the word malnutrition. This girl is not malnurished.

  • ya the pitch of the music changes about two times throughout the whole dance

  • THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!! did she win?

  • Wow. I'm ashamed to admit that I really didn't like some of the other videos I saw that just had photos of her... but that was amazingly good. SUCH incredible control and strength for her age. And yes TOTALLY agree with todanceXtolive ... try doing that whilst being anorexic! She has incrcedible strength, just a very petit bone structure and clearly not prone to putting on weight. NO issue.

    She is GORGEOUS!

  • awesome beautiful

  • they need to put dark ballet dancers! (hispanic, and African amersicans, black! anything)

  • such incredible control

  • Alys is incredible!

  • alys is incredible!!

  • alys is incredible!!

  • I hope you try out for the Prix de Lausanne!!

  • i love how her dress flows so nicely!!!!

  • Beautiful feet!

  • she is so freakishly talented for a 14 year old dancer. I can't wait to see her professional acts. She is going to be so good.

  • Can't wait to see where Alys ends up- she's so good!

  • Really nice.

Just stop sickling your left foot! It's not that bad just sometimes its bugging me but yeah. And who cares if it's a raked stage?

  • @GymnasticDancer everythign is about 10 times harder on a raked stage!! especially on pointe.

  • So pretty, the dance and dancer.

  • Love the dancer :) just not the recording of the music: it sounds like the key keeps changing and it's bothering me.

  • That does happen in competitions, though, it can be difficult to find a recording that is a good tempo throughout for a dancer and I've often seen where one has to be kind of cobbled together.

  • this is my favorite variation I've seen you do.

  • wow. i'm 13 and do ballet, but i'm not on pointe yet, and just... WOW! you're great! (but i can't disagree, you're skinny. i would look chunky in comparison)

  • She has the perfect Ballet body

  • so controlled very very beautiful :)

  • STOP with the comments about her weight! If you danced for about 8 hours a day and did rehearsals for the rest of it you'd be a skinny kid no matter how many Big Macs you shoved down. And no dancer would be able to dance if they were anorexic.. in case you didn't realize, it takes ENERGY.

    ..and great job, Alys. :).

  • ikr! beautiful :)

  • Totally agree. The thing is though, her arms are incredibly skinny! Even if that is, just how she is, they tend to look always a bit relaxed & out of control.

  • @todanceXtolive

I agree that posting comments about dancers weights just cause controversy but in response to your statement that "no dancer would be able to dance if they were anorexic," many dancers throughout the world battle anorexia. In fact the American College of Sports Medicine claims that up to 31% of professional dancers battle it. 31% is a terribly large figure, which just shows that more education on the disease and awareness of its conseqences needs to be illuminated.

  • @todanceXtolive i agreed i know there are tons of ballerinas who have eatting desorders but come on if she is or isnt anorexic you can notice for strength and this girl is dancing like mad adn she is good as hell so please stop all these jealosy if she is on eatting desorders we will know she will die ( i really hope not)

  • @todanceXtolive I don't see anything wrong with her body, she looks pretty healthy to me, I've seen a lot skinnier girls, and supposing she'd be sick, she probably could not do ballet.

Like you said it takes a lot of energy I don't think an anorexic girl could handle it.

  • @todanceXtolive

I share your opinion. I have never heard anyone, who does a lot of sport, complaining about others being skinny. she is young and very active. nowadays many kids are overweight and many people tend to overlook it. it is much easier to complain about the others being skinny then recognising that the society ir runnig for a very unhealthy future full of cupkaes and bic macs. In my opinion, this girl looks great for her age and amount of work out.

  • @todanceXtolive Besides all that, because of how active she is, her metabolism is such that she probably DOES wolf down big meals just to keep herself fit, having to expend much in engergy to do what she does. She is just as fit and active as any professional athelete, and she does this very well, so she has to take in much to do what she does. Does anyone have any idea just how many calories a day someone on the Tour de France has to take in? 7,000! Leave her be, she is fine.

  • @todanceXtolive yes :D she actually just the other day she uploaded a picture on fb of her McNuggets, fries and soda :D i love her!

  • whats with her arabesque? everything else is lovely - especially her hops en pointe - but her arabesque leaves a lot to be desired

  • Why don't you square your arabesque?

  • i wonder if their foot fingers are still complete!! shes terribly skinny even for a dancer

  • @andiipops

    your sapposto be skinny!!

  • not really..... ??

  • @andiipops

    foot fingers???

    don't you mean toes :L

n I think her size is fine...

  • absolutly beautiful! great coach you must have..congrats!

  • i want her body!!!!!!!!!111

  • How much does this girl weigh? PLEASE TELL ME!

  • how would anyone on here know?!?!?!?

  • i know cuz i have talked 2 her b4!!!

  • WOW! That was beautiful. I love your costume, its so flowy, and you dance with the maturity of a professional. Good luck you're going far!

  • i have been dancing for three years im one of the top dancers i love ballet sooo much .

  • im almost 14 and im nowhere near that good. im alright. but she probably has had years of single lessons so all the focus is on her

ive danced for 10 years and is hoping to be that good soon

  • yes and she dances 6 hours a day!!!

  • thats insane!! especially on a raked stage!!! it must be soo hard to dance on a slope

  • that is talent, and there is a career waiting definitely!

  • You are amazing in this video and in the Corsaire Medora! You are so talented, especially for a 14 years old. This is very good for Canada in the field of ballet.

There's one thing I don't understand though; if you are with the canadian ballet theatre school, do you take classes only in the evening?! If I'm right, this is even more incredible! And you should definetly try out for National ballet school, royal winnipeg ballet school, or even amercian ballet theatre!

  • no i think that she also takes private lessons during the day

  • sweety u are fantasticcccccc:)))) bıg kıssessssss...

  • she looks like a baby Erica Cornejo! wonderful just wonderful

  • yes!

  • love her!

  • What part of act one is this in giselle?

  • this is the Giselle variation...

  • OMFG she's on THE bolshoi stage! totally JEALOUS! tho im not half as good as her...

  • wow. I hope her parents are allowing her to audition for companies. This girl should be working. She is awesome. Best of Luck to you Alys.

  • Why does the pitch of the music change part way through?

    Otherwise, brilliant!!!

  • @sydneyjewels to change the tempo

  • @sydneyjewels I think it's the way they slowed the music down for certain parts

  • Beautiful!!!

  • you're amazing
