The soil remembers the bloody massacres of the ones who made this novelty of an existence possible better than we do, yet the ones accountable for the blood-letting would deny their accountability and displace the debt until death as they make beings refugees worldwide. How is it different than the guise of an emperor or a slave master? How may be fate divided for each of us betrothed to our respective experience than one ought to suffer while the other plunders wealth from his suffering?
I have mixed feelings about this movement. I mean, suppose you get one state, or even 50 states, to t;hink like you, and then close down the US bases, become isolationist (militarily, not economically, I know...) then who would be the next superpower? There are always great powers, great bullies. The utopian vision is no superpowers, but at least one will always be there. Question is: Do we want a world controlled by an evil bully or benevolent one?
We would likely still be the worlds super power as we would be able to focus that portion of the GDP that has been used for offensive military operations into productive portions of the economy.
Nothing Utopian about a voluntary society, there would still be tons of issues to deal with.
@safewaysecurity I think it is about the concept that to have freedom for yourself, you need to advocate freedom for others. I am more a spending and economic libertarian, but will work hard to advocate for your gun freedom because by advocating your kind of freedom I am raising the tide for all liberties.
@TheMaxx111 Agreed. I still support legalization of all drugs. It's just when they say gun libertarians and drug libertarians they mean what they are MOST focused on.
Stossel gets it right 98% of the time. I'm glad, for example, that he addressed the nuance on the abortion issue. He could have pointed out that even amongst libertarians who are against it, few (of those who call themselves libertarian) would use the state to stop it.

Non interventionist, not isolationist.

The idea was not for libertarians to move there, the idea is for anybody who loves freedom and is willing to get active for it to move.
